You can see at the end that he wasn't supporting Palin; he was merely responding to overt criticism of her. What a nut. The true definition of a wacko. A libertarian, a person who embraces minimalism, or even abolition of the state, not to mention open anarchy. Did you listen to his approval that Palin was justify to break the law to go after a state police officer. Wow. His voice rising like your typical senile 80 yr old yelling at the kids to get off his grass as he stands outside in his underwear. Freakin Alaska IS weird! This Gravel guy really embarrassed himself in this interview! Pathetic!
Keep in mind that was before the campaign, and before she was subjected by Republicans. The only reason he was avid to defend her this time is because the hosts were avid to attack her on nonsense. He had a lot of criticism about her too on other interviews.
lol i'm surprised gravel supports palin........i thought he would hate her but he doesn't.......
and that lady speaking is liberal and she's a far left individual.....she thinks palin has a radical idealogy on abortion.....she doesn't......she's clearly pro-life thats all
Good on Mike Gravel for standing up against vile liberal gossip journalism. If he had not been anti-war, he could of made headway in the Democratic primary.
If Palin should not have run as Vice-President as a sitting gov. then Obama should not have run as a State Senator phoning in his job as a US Senator while running for President. Gravel points that out.
Oh he is a liberal know doubt. But I meant that he is not a leftist-liberal. Leftists are police-state loving, war-mongering, socialists who want to control every aspect of your life. You think he is allowed to sit at the table with Obama or Clinton? or Lieberman? So he is a socialist to an extent, but he just has never learned that dicatorhsip is required to make it happen... so he is favorable in that regard
It was unavailable for about 2 months for some weird reason but it's okay for me now...either way people copied my clip and reposted it so just look it up
I may be a strong be a strong moderate -progressive ( Not liberal two diffrent idelouges but are somewhat related) I agree with Mike Gravel the Dems do the same fear mongering that the Republicans do. Oh well I am voting for Nader anyway

somebody get Gravel a paramedic or something, he's about to go into convulsions he's so mad that Palin's inexperience and McCain's dumb azz choice is being questioned...So Gravel is campaigning for McCain? Oh, indirectly, yes he is. With democrats like him, who needs republicans/McCain supporters?
Gravel is a nut. He criticized Obama for allegedly not having enough "experience" but he's always defending Palin when asked about her experience. He's such a Fucktard.
Obama is in his mid forties, hasn't held his office over 10 years, has still not defined what "change" is, and has no military expierence whatsoever (and you want him in charge of an eventual withdrawal from Iraq...you make me laugh). Your the nut, do not argue with your betters you fool. If your going to wage political warfare please refrain from saying fucktard -.-, you rambling apge.
HAHAHA! You think that if we speak nicely to the muslims they'll just lay down their arms and stop hating christians and Jews? Military expierence is needed from a president who will as a fact be in charge of one of the most powerful militarys in the world. I love how you ignorant bastards thinkt hat if we discard our weapons, the rest of the world will do the same. What we need, is less ignorant bastards like you getting into positions of power. Good day sir.
Learn your damned history. Learn what your country has been involved in for the last 60 years. People hate you and jews so much in recent times because you're a bunch of shit stirring idiots. Mind your damned business for a change.
Being from that region of the world, I know exactly how the US has fucked up peoples' lives. It's clear since people like you are in power, the world has become pretty FUBAR. Freaking religious nutjob...Get a life you moron.
Oh well that explains quite a bit, ignorant anti semite bastards like you disgust me. In addition, I am by no stretch of the imagination a "religious nutjob" I believe that religion is a medium to control the masses, and nothing more. Furthurmore, I currently have two friends and one relative currently deployed to Iraq, so I am well aware of the situation, which is actually now a fairly good one, fighting has gone down immensly in recent monthes. But do please enlighten me as to your travels.
Spare me the anti-semite bullshit. Anytime anyone calls you religious nutjobs out, you start spewing your bullshit propaganda. It's getting really old...and people don't give a shit.
Anti-semitism...OOOOO...the boogieman is coming. Sure hasn't stop jews from making more money than anyone else. So much for racism. Blacks have a hell of alot more to worry about than jews...so go cry us a river.
You're not aware of jackshit out there. If you did, you wouldn't so blind, biased, and ignorant.
Hahaha! Your a fool, you obviously didn't even bother to read what I said before you went off on your ignorant rant. Religion is a tool for controlling the masses, I am no religious, I just hate seeing idiots like you going nuts when things like the KKK exist (which I despise). But then when Jews and Christians are persecuted and killed by Muslims throughout the middle east and Asia, you look the other way and call it their "culture".
Wow, those talk show hosts are about as ridiculous as anyone or anything I've ever heard. What fools, and anyone who listens to them are fools as well. Typical though. Maybe they should follow Mike G's advice and stop with the nonsense. They couldn't stand hearing it straight from someone from their own party so they cut him off. SO F*IN TYPICAL of a liberal. Truth scares them in conversation.
Thanks Mike. You're spot on about Palin. You also did a fine job of addressing petty, back biting, hypocritical, condescending, intolerant, ignorant, holier-than-thou DemocRats and their extreme, minority views.
"Gravel drinking Repuke kood-aid" is such a ridiculous suggestion I don't even know where to begin! In any case, Gravel just got a twit of an interviewer here, gun to his head he'll favor Democrats from all the interviews of him I listened to, but to him either party is generally awful and offers more of the same with minor differences that can hardly be seen under a microscope.
Yes, how dare he demand he actually defend that cavewoman against petty mudslinging and pay attention to Palin's actual stance on the issues.
I totally won't vote for her because she shoots mooses. Poor mooses. Jesus fucking Christ, then we wonder why America has gotten so fucked up. All this is is a giant popularity contest anymore.
Is this the same guy I supported during the primary process? W.T.F happened to him? I don't support either major candidate right now, but listening to him try to argue that Sarah Palin is a good choice from a policy perspective is hard to stomach. My respect for him just went down quite a few notches.
Maybe you should try swallowing your pride, and listen to a man who has experience? Maverick is a name that can be applied to Gravel. He isn't saying he supports John McCain....he is saying Palin was a good choice for the country. Only when you free yourself of this rampant partisanship, thinking only one party can do good for the country, will you have knowledge.
I'm not going to blindly follow someone just because they are experienced in politics. His reasons for defending Palin's views are horrible. I never mentioned McCain once, so I'm not sure why you even mentioned that. And partisanship...me? I despise both major parties and pretty much every choice we have in this election. In this particular case, Gravel seems to have a few screws loose with his reasoning.
I don't recall hearing him say that he likes Palin's policies or ideology. Seemed to me that he doesn't like her views at all, but he respects her right to have them and he doesn't have much time for character assassination.
Not directly, but his seemingly passive nature with regards to criticising her is odd. And when he calls her a good choice that just adds to the confusion. Exactly what is good about her? Her continuation of the status quo? Her insane religious views? Her hypocrisy in her political/religious ideology and her family issues? Her warmongering atitude? What issue really makes her good?
He said she is a good choice for the REPUBLICANS. They like the status quo. There's over 75 million Christians in this country. He addressed the family smears pretty well. America is a very violent place & its hard to find consistently anti-war people in EITHER party. Gravel wouldn't vote for her in a million years. He was disgusted with the partisan crap exibited. Since you sound just like them, you probably have about the same mind-set as they do, consequently you're as confused as they were.
I suppose it's debatable how to interperet some of his statements. For example, he does specifically state he has no particular negatives with respect to her. He definitely wasn't too critical of her either. I think it's funny how you think I sound partisan, or like "them" as you put it, just because I dislike both Palin's political and religious beliefs. I dislike Obama and Biden just as much, only for different reasons.
His rhetoric of change? His refusal to actually change anything with respect to foreign policy? His tax policy that is a continuation of the norm? His views on GLBT rights? Obama is nothing more than a political celebrity as far as I can see. Biden is pretty much the same. There isn't much I really like about them, policy wise. They are slightly better than McCain/Palin. But having to choose between the two is like trying to decide if I'd rather eat out of the trash can or a dumpster.
Socially I'm left on most issues. It varies from issue to issue though. On economics I'm a mix. For example, my views on taxes are not normal for someone that's left leaning. I don't think evaluating ideas on an individual basis is partisan, especially since I don't identify with any particular party or ideology explicitly. Keep calling me partisan if you want, I'm not sure why I continue to even respond.
I was done, but then I was reminded of your hypocrisy charge when I read the following, I think it's just a little bit better example of it than the daughter of a "Family Values" zealot getting into trouble: "..during the mid-1980s, Biden was the chief senate architect of the federal anti-drug laws that re-established mandatory minimum sanctions for various drug possession crimes, & established the racially based 100-to-1 sentencing disparity for crimes involving the possession of crack versus..
..powder cocaine. Many academics have credited Biden's law as one of the primary reasons why America now possesses the highest incarceration rate of any country in the world, and why approximately one out of every nine young African-American males are now in prison. (Ironically, had Biden's running mate and former admitted cocaine user Obama been convicted under federal law, his future political aspirations would have been limited to Barry the janitor, not President of the United States."
And of course McCain's wife was a prescription junkie. McCain used his power to cover up her forgery crimes & intimidate her victims. I don't know that he's as big a drug warrior as Biden so I don't know exactly where to put each of them on a "hypocrisy meter". Way the hell up there for both of course.
Please watch more of Mike Gravel's clips and see how he continuously exposes corruption and courageously speaks the truth. Look at "overmind25" channel here on youtube for the best collection of Mike Gravel's clips.
My god these media people are trying so hard to burn Palin. I'm probably not voting for McCain-Palin, but if I do, it will be to send an f-u out to this ridiculous media bias.
Did the media ever question Obama's experience, seeing as he has less experience than Palin? I don't remember them ganging up on him like this? Can we get some balance here?
First of all, somehow the media is biased both ways. In the way that you described but also has somehow told that McCain is tied with Obama although Obama is around 15-20% ahead. Also, only idiots question Obama's experience.
McCain has bad judgement, therefore he needs tons of experience. Obama has amazing judgement, therefore he hardly needs much experience. Just wanted to tell my opinions =)
Was part of Obama's "amazing judgement" voting for the funding of the Iraq war time again & voting for the PATRIOT Act..twice? You sould watch the videos where you paste your propaganda. You & "OFMC" really look silly here because on this particular video Gravel begins to demonstrate how there's not a dime's worth of difference between McCain & Obama before he is cut off by the obvious party hacks "interviewing" him.
Gravel argues ineffectively in favor of Palin. I think the "executive experience" issue is nonsense -- being an executive of a tiny town and an unpopulated state shouldnt count for much. The issue of her daughter's pregnancy (like her views on global warming, evolution and religion) is relevant because it illustrates the dangers of views and actions that are based on religious beliefs.
I agree, if the interviewers weren't so inept in trying to attack her on tabloid garbage issues, Gravel might not have gotten the urge to defend her so zealously. I would like to have listened to that kind of interview instead of this nonsense.
Sarah Palin is good-looking but you can tell she's obstinate and although she yacks about "mistakes were made" with regard to Bush's handling of things, she's very close to being like Bush herself. I especially don't like her idea of getting U.S. involved in a war with Russia over Georgia.
That's right. I occasionally used to listen to the beginning of Kolhatkar's show in LA (when she came on, it meant I was late for work). They are, by no stretch of the imagination, "Obamabots". To be sure, they are anti-Republican. They are also anti-Democrat (though less so, and not so viscerally). Hugo Chavez is a bit more their speed.
Thanks for this clip Gobbledygookie. I'm glad Gravel has come to his senses about the two parties and joined the LP (oh and ripped those radio hosts who wanted him to be their pet so badly).
I'm F'ng the two mainstream parties by following Ron Paul's advice and voting 3rd party!!!! Make sure your state has joined the majority requiring paper ballots and not erasable computer memory cards. Join the cause of freedom, prosperity, and peace at verifiedvoting. org

Come on Mike Gravel. You're better than that. What kind of logic are you using to defend Palin on Troopergate? You're saying that since the trooper deserved to be fired, Palin did the right thing by possibly breaking the law to do it? Why not advocate changing the law instead of you justifying her ethics in possibly breaking it? Mike, you sound like YOU'RE the old politician in somebody's pocket right now.
In the pocket of whom? Palin? The Republican Party? That's absurd & calumnious. I don't know the details on "Troopergate", but I'll bet Gravel knows more than you do. He clearly stated his reasonable opinion & as always gave his honest evaluation. What you sound like is what Gravel is the opposite of; a party hack.
Calumnious? That seems a bit rash. Look, I supported Gravel for president, and mostly, I think his opinions are distilled and cogent. Maybe he was annoyed with the leftist radio kids who didn't get what they expected, but listen to what Gravel advocates regarding Troopergate: he's justifying cronyism. Perhaps he does know more than me on the issue, but perhaps I know a little more than you on this. If you wish to allude to my being a party hack, I suggest you take your low blows elsewhere.
How is calling somebody who just insulted a very honorable man a "party hack" more of a low blow than suggesting said honorable man is "in somebody's pocket"? I'm sure you do know more about "Troopergate" than I do, maybe even more than Mr. Gravel. That's not the point. You've given another unfounded insult that he is for cronyism. He clearly believes that the Trooper was incompetent & dangerous. That's his motivation, the truth, not the partisan crap that sure SEEMS to be your motivation.
Very nice how you rest your argument on the premise of truth. What is truth, my friend? Please enlighten me. I am sorry though. I was unaware that you and ol' Mike had a patent on it and could use it to your advantage. I choose in this case to argue something called law. Something you seem to disregard in favor of 'an honorable man'. Brutus was an honorable man too. I stick to my assertion of Gravel's justifying cronyism in this interview. Please argue logically rather than trying to own truth.
What a load. I said I don't know what happened. I never said either of us had the truth. I was saying that Gravel was trying to get to the truth of the matter. Just like he does every single time Ive ever heard him say anything. Like when he released the secret Pentagon Papers into the public record. What advantage? I don't agree with Gravel OR Palin on much of anyhthing. I'm just 99.9% sure Gravel is not in the pocket of ANYONE as you so sleazily intimated. Just keep spreading your crap thicker
HEROIC! Paul/Gravel 2008! How I wish! Really, these radio hosts are disgusting partisan hacks. The Democrats ARE a party of war and imperialism. Same as the Republicans, they're all liars and crooks and as mpolzkill says, "venal war-mongering phonies!"
Which one? He's really gung-ho on Afghanistan, or should I say the CIA's opium gold mine. I think you're deluded. Obama will send more Americans to die for oil and the CIA's dreams of world domination. Look where the oil pipelines run. WAKE UP!!!
? Deluded is the word. Right on, "Dylboz". Did you watch the video? Obama didn't vote for the war? He wasn't there for the beginning of this abomination, but since then he has voted to FUND it over & over again. That's voting for it, silly person. And as "Dylboz" said, he's gung-ho for the Afghan debacle. Watch your guy with O'Reiley, trying to show how tough he is. It's pathetic, Change! Wake the fuck up! No one wakes up! Open sesame! What's the magic word? Fucking twilight zone. Obama? REALLY?
I seems that you have been caught in the trap of "vote for me cause the other guy is worse" politics.
That question doesn't need answering cause it doesn't apply to REAL life.
Instead, if you really want something done then why not find someone who wants to vote for mccain(even though he doesn't like him) and cancel out both of your votes and vote for a third party candidate who will REALLY do good in this country.
He has a point though, it's gonna be either one of them elected this year whether we like it or not, I don't think it's a bad question. IMO, you should do your part to promote third parties so you can feel you've done enough for the cause, so one day they will have at least a remote chance of getting elected. But so long as they don't have any at all (officially impossible), it's better you pick your poison on election day, because you're get one of those two anyway. Makes sense?
Yeah, there's nothing wrong with hoping the less awful guy wins. But I swear, I can't tell who that is. And to SUPPORT the lesser of two evils is wrong. The lesser of two evils is...evil.
Life or death? Hmmmmm.....poisoned meat or poised water......I think I'll take neither thank you. It will still give me about 10 more days before I starve to death to figure out another way.
Except that he voted to continue funding the surge in Iraq, and let Bush get ready to wage another war against Iran just like every other spineless democrat and republican in congress. Wake up people, there's no difference anymore in the two party system. Republicats are ruining this country, and both candidates basically have the same status quo foreign policy: more wars!
Obama voted for keep funding the war, and told AIPAC that "nothing is off the table on Iran", plus voted for giving immunity to the telecos. He is for getting troops from Iraq and move them to Afganistan, and he is pro-Georgia. Pretty similar to Mccain foreign policies.
good for Gravel. I don't agree with his politics, but he does a great job demonstrating the witch hunting of Palin by the leftist media and the complicity of the Democratic party in our endless wars.
It's funny how quickly radio hosts "run out of time" when they're getting demolished. Reminded me of Mitt Romney "gotta run" when he was getting tough questions on radio shows. Well done Se. Gravel.
"Now all of [the stuff that I just mentioned on live public radio] as we were just saying is of course a ridiculous sideshow in American politics that we shouldn't even be discussing but the fact of the matter is that it is out there..."
Disgusting, two-faced, partisan rubbish. Contrast that with Gravel having the integrity to defend the qualities of a woman she politically opposes.
I seriously respect Gravel for this. If all politicians had the decency to speak honestly and respectfully about their opponents, this country would be a lot better.
I'd bet 10$ that the radio hosts setting up the hack job on Palin had no idea what was coming down the pike from Mike. I always felt he was a bit nutty...but his response to them is truly a piece of art work. I take my hat off to him.
This is why I could not bring myself to support Mike Gravel. This fits a pattern; he puts reactionary politics in progressive packaging. The man is for a global government, for goodness sake, that is nothing less than imperialism! No, Mike Gravel does not surprise me here. Mike is true to form.
It's refreshing to hear Gravel defend the character and conduct of someone with whom he disagrees politically. I say bravo to him for that.
Bravo to him for pointing out that lengthy political experience suggests corruption rather than wisdom. (What would the hosts have said about Bill Clinton in 1992?)
And also for pointing out that the Democrats are complicit in the war on terror.
Mike Gravel did a great job here. Amazing. Slammed troopergate shut! Same thing I thought about it. They can't stand what he is saying. Opps they made a mistake interviewing this guy. He tells it like it is.
Gravel destroyes this Demohacks just like Paul rips the Republicons apart. This reminds of when Paul went on Laura I. radio show. Complete truth to power.
Heh, thanks, I didn't intend it to be fuel the Republicans btw (notice how popular it is? This clip has been circulating in all the anti-Obama web outlets in the world by now), in fact, I just thought a few Gravel supporters would listen to it. But I hope it would ultimately lead both Reps and Dems to search other Mike Gravel clips and reach a greater network of truth.
I don't think you understand...Many of the anti-obama comments are people who are also anti-mccain. We just attack many of the koolaid drinkers in the obama crowd.
Hah, I wish it were true, but this video didn't get 50000 views because it's anti-both. Just look at the video stats, all the links via pro-McCain and Palin websites. That's telling isn't it? I didn't know what I was starting!
But like I said before, I hope people reach a greater network of truth at the end, even if it's just a few...
Left wing whacko radio station gets its ass handed to it; when they don't get the response they're looking for; Obama isn't qualified to be DOG CATCHER; Left what's to elect a blackman no matter who it is. Powell could be elected and has experience. Curious George is a JOKE. Demos need to return to their roots; JFK, Scoop Jackson The party of the working man has been highjacked by the Fruits and NUTs on the Extreme Right. Landslide ala "72" Demos need to learn from their mistakes,
And whose positions aren't in alignment...Gravel? I don't care about him, I was just pointing out that this interview is pointless; a crazy guy rambling on about something on which he really doesn't have any authority to comment. With regards to this clip, he's nothing more than a disenfranchised "radical" politician whose only respectable quality is that he doesn't bow to a certain political mindset, for which I do actually respect him considerably.
Gravel wrote a law to end this war, where was Obama on that, Gravel support a health care system that provided real choice, he support us getting of gas in 5yrs and carbon in 10yrs. Gravel doesnt belive in getting involved in foreign intanglements. and finally Gravel big issue is impowering the people to make laws for themselves. OBOMBMA is nowhere on that. People do have minds of their own and are not lock and step Demanazis. You need to stop talking out of both sides of your mouth. Hypocrite.
Demanazi? Demapussy? Obomba? wow, this is sad, really sad. Please do yourself a favor and read a book that isn't written by bill o'reilly or rush limbaugh. And by the way, its entanglements, with an "e".
What said is someone like you who has drunk the Obama koolaid and then tries to convience the rest of us he is a change agent after he clearly is in support of bombing Iran just like McCain. I dont belong to any political party, because I dont believe. I support either candidates or issues, not parties. The demapussies are pathetic and the republinazis are assholes. Now deal with it.
There is a campaign to discredit Sarah Palin that is close to backfiring. What we have is one political party (Democratic) that claims to be backers of the rights of women, wanting to respect them and treat them equally. Yet, many supporters of the party and its views are frustrated with Palin because she's succeeding. There is an good amount of hate being spewed her way, all because she's winning.
Not odd at all. She is being investigated by the FBI for corruption/ethics, she has a pregnant 17 yr old daughter, she knows very little about foreign policy and what she has said with regards to policy are ideas that have been assailed by her own running mate McCain. She represents the opposite ideology of most women as well. And by the way, Gravel obviously doesn't know what he is talking about. Being mayor of a town of 9000 is not political experience when it comes to running a country.
And Mr. Obama has been in the Senate for 4 years, and 4 years ago he mentioned he would not run for President now (2008) because of lack of experience.
And, the opposite ideologies of women, meaning what...being married, having kids and having a professional life? Also, she was Mayor and then moved on to being Governor.
Bottom line, her competitors want her to fail, they are threatened by her success because of the fear that that success will trump there bid for the White House. It's sad.
Its over for demapussies because unless people start paying attention to third parties. Say hello to pres McCain. Why dont you tell us what demapussies are doing about election fraud, caging and diebold. Demapussies fold everytime. You boy Obama voted for FISA and is a AIPAC supporter. Demapussies allowed FISA to go thru and keep funding war. You want to tell me how demapussies are better, BITCH!
HAHAHA she says Nucular, just like Bush. And apparently someone struck a nerve with truthout...nice vernacular. If you watch the abc interview, she just gave Israel approval to start WW III. No one says anything about the Iran/Israel/Syria because they know nothing about it, but Palins obvious lack of any idea of the history or current events of this region is shocking and appalling by any standards. She has absolutely no idea that she is clueless about global politics, a true danger to the US
Palin just said that Israel can do basically what ever it wants to defend itself. Obama did vote for FISA and hint that if elect he may seek criminal charges, which still can be done. McCain didn't vote on FISA and He is a AIPAC supporter as well. Gravel's energy plan is not practical. 5yrs to get off gas and 10 to get off coal are not possible without sending us into a depression
It is possible, we had fighter bombers in WW2 within a year. You have to have the will and leadership to do it and right now we dont. Gas will destroy us.
Oh man this was priceless. You can tell from the host's stuttering reactions they were prepared for him to rip into Palin; they seem to be kind of REALLY SURPRISED and at a loss what to do because they can't get him to make some outrageous claim about her, like she wanted to ban books or eat babies or something.
Ah, I picked up the information, it's called "global perspectives" which he'll be hosting. If you google "global perspectives mike gravel" you'll get the information...
Outstanding. It's always heartening to hear someone with the moral conviction to speak the truth, even about those with whom he disagrees polically. The NPR staff should be ashamed of themselves. You have to love the panic in their voices when Senator Gravel didnt spout their party line. Apparently he didnt get the memo.
These interviewers are a bunch of biased clowns. The trooper 1.tasers a kid, 2. Got caught drinking liquor in his squad car (twice), 3. Threatened the life of a close member of the Governor's family, and they are trying to make the Governor look like the "bad guy" for someone who would not discipline the trooper. This guy would not act. Their union would not act.
Don't these media people have any common sense? OOoops, I forgot, they have an agenda.
Not to mention that the trooper was under investigation even BEFORE Palin was elected governor. Not to mention that the people that are "investigating" are the same people she beat in the elections. However, the pro-Obama networks don't like to mention these two facts.
Hilarious!! Good to hear someone call this "partisan, silly rhetoric" and finally say that a politician's daughter's personal life is "none of our damn business." My respect for Gravel just skyrocketed.

Military experience? Like who??? GWB? Like that chickenshit?
Maybe we need more people with LESS military experience so we can have a world with more peace and less crackpots who talk to God.
Idiot.

Thanks for playing idiot.
Nozferat 3 years ago
Oh well that explains quite a bit, ignorant anti semite bastards like you disgust me. In addition, I am by no stretch of the imagination a "religious nutjob" I believe that religion is a medium to control the masses, and nothing more. Furthurmore, I currently have two friends and one relative currently deployed to Iraq, so I am well aware of the situation, which is actually now a fairly good one, fighting has gone down immensly in recent monthes. But do please enlighten me as to your travels.
angelmarine1292 3 years ago
Spare me the anti-semite bullshit. Anytime anyone calls you religious nutjobs out, you start spewing your bullshit propaganda. It's getting really old...and people don't give a shit.
Anti-semitism...OOOOO...the boogieman is coming. Sure hasn't stop jews from making more money than anyone else. So much for racism. Blacks have a hell of alot more to worry about than jews...so go cry us a river.
You're not aware of jackshit out there. If you did, you wouldn't so blind, biased, and ignorant.
Nozferat 3 years ago

My respect for him just went down quite a few notches.
chadsikorra 3 years ago
Maybe you should try swallowing your pride, and listen to a man who has experience? Maverick is a name that can be applied to Gravel. He isn't saying he supports John McCain....he is saying Palin was a good choice for the country. Only when you free yourself of this rampant partisanship, thinking only one party can do good for the country, will you have knowledge.
TReno89501 3 years ago
I'm not going to blindly follow someone just because they are experienced in politics. His reasons for defending Palin's views are horrible. I never mentioned McCain once, so I'm not sure why you even mentioned that. And partisanship...me? I despise both major parties and pretty much every choice we have in this election. In this particular case, Gravel seems to have a few screws loose with his reasoning.
chadsikorra 3 years ago
I don't recall hearing him say that he likes Palin's policies or ideology. Seemed to me that he doesn't like her views at all, but he respects her right to have them and he doesn't have much time for character assassination.
alanjohnson 3 years ago 3
Not directly, but his seemingly passive nature with regards to criticising her is odd. And when he calls her a good choice that just adds to the confusion. Exactly what is good about her? Her continuation of the status quo? Her insane religious views? Her hypocrisy in her political/religious ideology and her family issues? Her warmongering atitude? What issue really makes her good?
chadsikorra 3 years ago
He said she is a good choice for the REPUBLICANS. They like the status quo. There's over 75 million Christians in this country. He addressed the family smears pretty well. America is a very violent place & its hard to find consistently anti-war people in EITHER party. Gravel wouldn't vote for her in a million years. He was disgusted with the partisan crap exibited. Since you sound just like them, you probably have about the same mind-set as they do, consequently you're as confused as they were.
mpolzkill 3 years ago
I suppose it's debatable how to interperet some of his statements. For example, he does specifically state he has no particular negatives with respect to her. He definitely wasn't too critical of her either. I think it's funny how you think I sound partisan, or like "them" as you put it, just because I dislike both Palin's political and religious beliefs. I dislike Obama and Biden just as much, only for different reasons.
chadsikorra 3 years ago
Oh yeah? What would those be? I bet when you relate them they won't be as blisteringly vitriolic as your criticisms of Palin.
mpolzkill 3 years ago
His rhetoric of change? His refusal to actually change anything with respect to foreign policy? His tax policy that is a continuation of the norm? His views on GLBT rights? Obama is nothing more than a political celebrity as far as I can see. Biden is pretty much the same. There isn't much I really like about them, policy wise. They are slightly better than McCain/Palin. But having to choose between the two is like trying to decide if I'd rather eat out of the trash can or a dumpster.
chadsikorra 3 years ago
They're not far enough "left" for you. You're a partisan.
mpolzkill 3 years ago
Socially I'm left on most issues. It varies from issue to issue though. On economics I'm a mix. For example, my views on taxes are not normal for someone that's left leaning. I don't think evaluating ideas on an individual basis is partisan, especially since I don't identify with any particular party or ideology explicitly. Keep calling me partisan if you want, I'm not sure why I continue to even respond.
chadsikorra 3 years ago 2
Sure, let's quit. That's fine. If you lean left pretty much everywhere but on taxes you sure won't ever have much of a party, haha.
mpolzkill 3 years ago
I was done, but then I was reminded of your hypocrisy charge when I read the following, I think it's just a little bit better example of it than the daughter of a "Family Values" zealot getting into trouble: "..during the mid-1980s, Biden was the chief senate architect of the federal anti-drug laws that re-established mandatory minimum sanctions for various drug possession crimes, & established the racially based 100-to-1 sentencing disparity for crimes involving the possession of crack versus..
mpolzkill 3 years ago
..powder cocaine. Many academics have credited Biden's law as one of the primary reasons why America now possesses the highest incarceration rate of any country in the world, and why approximately one out of every nine young African-American males are now in prison. (Ironically, had Biden's running mate and former admitted cocaine user Obama been convicted under federal law, his future political aspirations would have been limited to Barry the janitor, not President of the United States."
mpolzkill 3 years ago
And of course McCain's wife was a prescription junkie. McCain used his power to cover up her forgery crimes & intimidate her victims. I don't know that he's as big a drug warrior as Biden so I don't know exactly where to put each of them on a "hypocrisy meter". Way the hell up there for both of course.

Mmmyess 3 years ago
I agree, if the interviewers weren't so inept in trying to attack her on tabloid garbage issues, Gravel might not have gotten the urge to defend her so zealously. I would like to have listened to that kind of interview instead of this nonsense.

Mike, you sound like YOU'RE the old politician in somebody's pocket right now.
scottvoloshin 3 years ago
In the pocket of whom? Palin? The Republican Party? That's absurd & calumnious. I don't know the details on "Troopergate", but I'll bet Gravel knows more than you do. He clearly stated his reasonable opinion & as always gave his honest evaluation. What you sound like is what Gravel is the opposite of; a party hack.
mpolzkill 3 years ago 4
If you wish to allude to my being a party hack, I suggest you take your low blows elsewhere.
scottvoloshin 3 years ago
How is calling somebody who just insulted a very honorable man a "party hack" more of a low blow than suggesting said honorable man is "in somebody's pocket"? I'm sure you do know more about "Troopergate" than I do, maybe even more than Mr. Gravel. That's not the point. You've given another unfounded insult that he is for cronyism. He clearly believes that the Trooper was incompetent & dangerous. That's his motivation, the truth, not the partisan crap that sure SEEMS to be your motivation.
mpolzkill 3 years ago 2
Very nice how you rest your argument on the premise of truth. What is truth, my friend? Please enlighten me. I am sorry though. I was unaware that you and ol' Mike had a patent on it and could use it to your advantage. I choose in this case to argue something called law. Something you seem to disregard in favor of 'an honorable man'. Brutus was an honorable man too. I stick to my assertion of Gravel's justifying cronyism in this interview. Please argue logically rather than trying to own truth.
scottvoloshin 3 years ago
What a load. I said I don't know what happened. I never said either of us had the truth. I was saying that Gravel was trying to get to the truth of the matter. Just like he does every single time Ive ever heard him say anything. Like when he released the secret Pentagon Papers into the public record. What advantage? I don't agree with Gravel OR Palin on much of anyhthing. I'm just 99.9% sure Gravel is not in the pocket of ANYONE as you so sleazily intimated. Just keep spreading your crap thicker

That question doesn't need answering cause it doesn't apply to REAL life.
Instead, if you really want something done then why not find someone who wants to vote for mccain(even though he doesn't like him) and cancel out both of your votes and vote for a third party candidate who will REALLY do good in this country.
GiveItOrLoseIt 3 years ago
He has a point though, it's gonna be either one of them elected this year whether we like it or not, I don't think it's a bad question. IMO, you should do your part to promote third parties so you can feel you've done enough for the cause, so one day they will have at least a remote chance of getting elected. But so long as they don't have any at all (officially impossible), it's better you pick your poison on election day, because you're get one of those two anyway. Makes sense?

bandito707 3 years ago
Obama voted for keep funding the war, and told AIPAC that "nothing is off the table on Iran", plus voted for giving immunity to the telecos. He is for getting troops from Iraq and move them to Afganistan, and he is pro-Georgia. Pretty similar to Mccain foreign policies.
I am voting 3rd party.

Nevermind this is your video! Great job!

Heh, thanks, I didn't intend it to be fuel the Republicans btw (notice how popular it is? This clip has been circulating in all the anti-Obama web outlets in the world by now), in fact, I just thought a few Gravel supporters would listen to it. But I hope it would ultimately lead both Reps and Dems to search other Mike Gravel clips and reach a greater network of truth.
gobbledygookie 3 years ago
I don't think you understand...Many of the anti-obama comments are people who are also anti-mccain. We just attack many of the koolaid drinkers in the obama crowd.
NEOCONIDIOTS 3 years ago

Highjacked by EXTREME Left (Not Right) sorry for the typo

Hypocrite.
truthout911 3 years ago
Demanazi? Demapussy? Obomba? wow, this is sad, really sad. Please do yourself a favor and read a book that isn't written by bill o'reilly or rush limbaugh. And by the way, its entanglements, with an "e".

Truthout is not a Republican. He rightly however, opposes the Demapussies who cave into the Republicans.

Very odd.
DaveNC72 3 years ago
Not odd at all. She is being investigated by the FBI for corruption/ethics, she has a pregnant 17 yr old daughter, she knows very little about foreign policy and what she has said with regards to policy are ideas that have been assailed by her own running mate McCain. She represents the opposite ideology of most women as well. And by the way, Gravel obviously doesn't know what he is talking about. Being mayor of a town of 9000 is not political experience when it comes to running a country.
Ladder209 3 years ago
It's sad.

Neither is being a community organizer like obama, or voting present in his short senate career.

Sarah is just another Gilf. Another Governor I'd like to F**K. ha. It's over Truthdick.

You want to tell me how demapussies are better, BITCH!
truthout911 3 years ago
HAHAHA she says Nucular, just like Bush. And apparently someone struck a nerve with truthout...nice vernacular. If you watch the abc interview, she just gave Israel approval to start WW III. No one says anything about the Iran/Israel/Syria because they know nothing about it, but Palins obvious lack of any idea of the history or current events of this region is shocking and appalling by any standards. She has absolutely no idea that she is clueless about global politics, a true danger to the US
Ladder209 3 years ago
Palin just said that Israel can do basically what ever it wants to defend itself. Obama did vote for FISA and hint that if elect he may seek criminal charges, which still can be done. McCain didn't vote on FISA and He is a AIPAC supporter as well. Gravel's energy plan is not practical. 5yrs to get off gas and 10 to get off coal are not possible without sending us into a depression
jblk007 3 years ago
It is possible, we had fighter bombers in WW2 within a year. You have to have the will and leadership to do it and right now we dont. Gas will destroy us.
truthout911 3 years ago
Oh man this was priceless. You can tell from the host's stuttering reactions they were prepared for him to rip into Palin; they seem to be kind of REALLY SURPRISED and at a loss what to do because they can't get him to make some outrageous claim about her, like she wanted to ban books or eat babies or something.

Haha...Mike's awesome
Someone should give him a talk show on one of the networks. He has criticism for both parties.
shonester 3 years ago
I think Mike's working on a contract for something, it'd be great if he gets something big, this guy needs to get all the primetime in the world.
gobbledygookie 3 years ago
Ah, I picked up the information, it's called "global perspectives" which he'll be hosting. If you google "global perspectives mike gravel" you'll get the information...
gobbledygookie 3 years ago
Outstanding. It's always heartening to hear someone with the moral conviction to speak the truth, even about those with whom he disagrees polically. The NPR staff should be ashamed of themselves. You have to love the panic in their voices when Senator Gravel didnt spout their party line. Apparently he didnt get the memo.

Mike Gravel is a man of integrity.

Gomezman5 3 years ago 5
Not to mention that the trooper was under investigation even BEFORE Palin was elected governor. Not to mention that the people that are "investigating" are the same people she beat in the elections. However, the pro-Obama networks don't like to mention these two facts.

Hilarious!! Good to hear someone call this "partisan, silly rhetoric" and finally say that a politician's daughter's personal life is "none of our damn business." My respect for Gravel just skyrocketed.
