  • (1/3) Poor research and misleading. This is heavily manipulated NASA footage and NO telescope as the viewer will assume. Not Kings crater as Hal9000BOT said, but Lobachevskiy, both are on the lunar far side! Most possible from a high resolution of AS17-150-23085 (get through: eol*jsc*nasa*gov/sseop/). That's a great picture but from then on virtually every photoshop filter went over it to come to this footage.

  • (2/3) Metric pictures like AS16-M-0757 (lpi*usra*edu/resources/apollo/images/print/AS16/M/0757*jpg) already show that

IT IS AN OPTICAL ILLUSION DUE TO SHADOW.

There is even a close up view AS16-121-19407 available in high resolution (history*nasa*gov/SP-362/p117*jpg) which reveal that

    THIS IS A STONE. (* = .)

  • (3/3) I can only hope that all the other very aesthetic videos are somewhat closer to real optical data and do not result from equivalent manipulative procedures. Otherwise, the kindest idea that comes to my mind is that somebody doesn't know how to handle image processing in a scientific context. Sorry, AY.

  • John, is this one of the images you captured with your telescope or one you found in the NSAS images? If it is NASA/JPL, do you have a link address to the original image so that I can also confirm and substantiate this image.

Thank you for all your amazing work, it make a difference.

  • Sorry about the type-os, just woke and need my coffee... "NASA" & "makes"

  • Its good to let the people find these images. As I think thats the point of showing them. OK people, This is real Image ident is AS17-150-23085. Go find it in JPL servers. Its free and easy and legal. When you locate it copy it into your image editor and flip image vertically. Now look near top center left, down abit. Happy hunting. Full disclosure to those whom seek is paramount, Dont you think? Structure is near far side of the moon. So almost impossible to see with telescope. GJ

  • I think you have something here John. Most interesting.

  • Interesting video John, I have a real nasa photograph of a bulding on the moon, can you that perhaps in near at obtain with your ASTRE spyglass?, I have te coordination.

  • jeez I'm seeing all sorts with this after inverting th image. i can now see that one of the sides of th opening doesn't reach the ground and when the perspective is chnaged you see relected light through.

Finally just as my squinting began to make me dizzy I saw it as a severed hand with a slim long thumb!!lol

    This needs more study

  • What would be the estimated size of that object? I do see a hand (Left) as well. Odd.

  • Jeez it must've been late when I posted that. I'm not really illiterate. I see a left or a right depending on the orientation but seeing it as the left for some reason is clearer than the right for me. The veins appear very distinct, but it can't be of course it's far too massive. Odd though!!! spooked me for a second. Wish we had some kind of scale also.

  • Here we are... Someone please photoshop the image again so we can clearly see what is realy attached to this hand... (again).

  • Yes! Especially some further image processing, maybe we see some NEW details (ironic).

  • You can save them the money-you go to the moon all the time.If this is JLW as it seems of course-great freakin job!You are aces buddy.I am trying to my own thing as well...so its going to get interesting.
