If there is an all-powerful god who created us, he could save all of us. If he is all-powerful, he could have created people who didn't need saving from something people did a long time ago. I would understand if it made any sense. "He sent his only begotten son." does not mean the same thing as "He WAS his only begotten son." If you actually do understand, rather than simply having convinced yourself that you understand, you can explain it. If you can't, what should that tell you?

Yes I believe every word in the Bible, Scripture is breathed out by God, inspired by Him. U and I same we are human beings..we bleed red, have emotions and doubts...we just believe in different things. I'm thinking u put your trust into physical evidence...that cool man..good for u I do too, to an extent. I don't cling to it.

These pseudepigraphal and deuterocanonical books were never considered scripture by the Christian church because they were not authoritative, inspired, written by either Prophets or Apostles, nor do they have the power of the word of the books of the existing Bible. Therefore, since the books are not lost and were never part of the Bible to begin with, they have no bearing on the validity of the Bible.

All of that is arbitrary. There were many Christian traditions early on, with doctrinal differences that make today's denominational schisms even more petty. The tradition that chose what books it liked was basically the one that got to Constantine. If you're only reading apologists, there's no point in trying to discuss the history with you.
"Misquoting Jesus" and "Jesus Interrupted" give a very basic summary of the textual problems of the bible.
Try Joseph Campbell too.

There is much talk these days about lost books of the Bible. Sometimes people claim that the Bible was edited to take out reincarnation, or the teaching of higher planes of existence, or different gods, or ancestor worship, The "lost books" were never lost. These so called lost books were already known by the Jews and the Christians and were not considered inspired. They weren't lost nor were they removed from the Bible because they were never in the Bible to begin with.

The Mesopotamian (sp) were Babylon from the Bible. These people had a lot of the same stories and beliefs, except they switched God and Satan, worshipping Satan as God , and these two were called Enki an Ea. They had the same stories of the flood, obiously a similar story about the Garden of Eden... It really testifies to the validity of the Bible.

This debate is fascinating at the sametime pointless, people.believe what they believe...I believe the bible to be the word of God ...why? She talked about the editor I believe that to be none other then God himself. God being real and as powerful as he is then he can have his word exactly the way he wants it. I believe it isn't perfect it takes real study and prayer to get the words out...this is the part that you guys miss. It is more personal and spiritual then anything else.
