I was there. The bass player was introduced as Jaco Pastorius and looked exactly like him, too: skinny, long, long hair, mysterious, cool. He was bass player that entire tour that also included the Brecker Bros and Metheny.. Jaco played about a 5 minute solo -- the first (extended) bass solo many of us had ever seen. Damndest thing. Big ovation

Thank God Joni was using the best studio guys ever, this could have been a total train wreck....but instead i really really dig this version. Gotta love Vinnie on those drums...the best.

@rosenbar in 1983 he was in on that Invitation tour with the steel pans and all that. He lived December 1, 1951 – September 21, 1987. :D
