I'll admit that i even learned a few thing from it even though i played the first one a few times through. It's not they will release a the game after so many years without explaining the first 2.

To those complaining about the graphics: Diablo 2 was released in 2000, that's 10 years ago, it has a massive fanbase and A LOT of ppl are still playing it. Now tell me how many are still playing Uncharted 1, Infamous or what have you instead of "moving on to the next game with graphics that make you go 'woah' ". Simply put: Diablo has what many games lack: it's GOOD. Period.

Very few people that care about video games, care at all about graphics, and I play Uncharted 1 and other games that you say aren't good. Most games don't lack the fact that their "GOOD" only some idiots can't look at the game and say "That is a good game but I don't like it." Somebody missed the first semester. Oh well, let's hope the cinematics department at Blizzard North went on to that great big gig in the sky. Cause they rocked. The animations were so damn scary I had to question my own sanity.

Baldurs Gate, now those were some lame animations. But the game play... still have yet to find better D&D.

I understand graphics dont make a game but this looks ridiculously bad. Games 10 years go look better than this. Is it because of WOW's success that they think a key ingredient is horrendous graphics? Terrible, Blizzard have sooo much money. Invest a small ammount on the visuals, it will make the whole game experience so much more absorbing. I want to find a piece of cool looking armor and actually care.

@damnedcarrot graphics dont make a game more or less fun. look at minecraft and how well it has been doing. these graphics are an upgrade from diablo 2. and diablos appeal doesnt rely on graphics like other games do. its about getting xp and leveling up!

But by the looks of Diablo 3 the dark atmo diablo 1 and 2 had is not there in Diablo 3, it's starting to look like a cheap imitation of WOW. @lordnarbas herp derp, the first 2 minutes of the trailer is rendered on-the-fly by the game's engine. Of course it's not going to look as good as a prerendered cinematic. This was done in SC2 as well; and as far as i'm concerned, the graphics are fine, and are on par with today's standards. As for the atmosphere, it's still as dark and moody as the previous 2. It's supposed to increase as you progress through the game.

@Kammora Well if the'd use Physix they'd be able to make a game decent enaugh to be playable. It's 2011 for fucksakes, Blizzard should be able to make game with good enaugh graphics to be able to be campareble to Crysis in graphics. And in blizzard's case, they are propably going to deley Diablo 3 for atleast another 3 years.

Acording to the gamepley video, the atmo is not dark enaugh for my taste. there's allot of gore but that's not enaugh, It needs more dark atmo and less bright WOW colors...

You sir, know nothing of games. First off this game will be played with an isometric camera, of course models won't be super detailed, even if they were, noone could see them from that distance anyway!

Also the screen will be swarmed with units sense it's a bloody diablo game. For a game using an isometric camera like Diablo, these are really great graphics.

Plus what annoyes me the most is how Blizzard is making the game look like WOW with the birght gay ass colorsceme. And it is propably going to be PG 13 so they can gain some more money for the game. Even the music isn't as dramatic as it was, the current score is just another "wannabe epic" soundtrack. Blizzard is such a sellout whore...
