  • Yes, I unlocked my hair - using the same method you used, except I used a rattail comb. I wish I had known not to cut my hair first though. But my hair is growing quite nicely. It took me a day and a half to get all the locks unlocked. I am very happy with the result! You can check out my natural hair journals.

  • Hi there!

I have been growing my hair since the summer of 06 right after my first semester of college :) I LOVE my locs, but I never really go to see the potential of my natural hair, since I went form the big chop and straight to locs. I have decided to unlock my hair this weekend actually....I'm a little scared about the hair loss, but I'm excited to see what happens! You have inspired me and I LOVE your hair! Thank you!

  • Damn I love you hair! I want to get dreadlocks as well but I am afraid I'm going to regret, and that when I take them out my hair is, well sorry the expression but "fuck up", and really frizzy. I kind of have frizzy hair now as well, but I cover it up with styling-producks.. :)

  • Hi Lisa!

No regrets! Do it; and if you don't like it. .. take it out. It's only hair! Thanks for watching :)

  • @libbaration

    So true... it's just hair...

  • U look like the girl from MaryMary

  • Hey T!

You are like the 3rd person who told me that! LOL! Thank you Love!!

  • @Tmommie3 WOW she does look like the girl from Mary Mary.

  • Lady- you are the best!

  • Your shirt is super cute!! Haha and I love your locs, I'm jealous of the length tho because I'm only 8 months in :( But I watched your other vid and your natural hair looks amazing, long and healthy. Whenever I decide I'm tired of my locs, this is what I'm going to dowith them :) Thanks forthe inspiration, peace and blessings.

  • Hey There!

Thank you- I like my shirt too!!! Honey, enjoy every step of your journey. Before you know it, your hair will be waaaaay down your back.

It's good to know that you don't have to shave your head. That's why I had to share my journey. Thanks for watching and responding. Best!!!

  • I think im going to lock my hair..it's good to know that when im done with it, i can remove them! Thanks for sharing

  • Hey Sweet! Yes- you have to have options!!! Thank you for watching!!

  • I just looked at your new video with your hair straight but I have a question. I'm a newbie (7weeks) into my loc journey but I have been natural for over 8 years. My question is ... Did UNLOC'N your hair do anything to your spirit either good or bad? Did it release you in some sort of a way. Thanks for sharing sis and you look amazing. All the best!

  • Heeeey!!! What a good question! Thank you! As I began taking out my locs, I started feeling lighter and lighter. I felt like a load had been taken off of my shoulders. When you loc you hair it does not shed. So when I took out my loc, I had shed a lot of hair and lost about 4lbs. Also, when I took out all of my locs- I felt really light headed; almost faint. At the same time I felt lifted and free. The whole process has been liberating; having locs and taking them out. Best!

  • Hi Jeanne!

Thank you for watching my videos! Yes- there are a few products that I used relentlessly including a deep conditioning cholesterol treatment- this is the most important! I would recommend that your boyfriend wash his hair (or even washes one loc at a time). Make sure he rinses all of the shampoo out; because it can make his hair a little tricky to take out if it still has suds. Then apply the cholesterol treatment, and a detangler. Don't forget the dessert fork!

  • Hi MsOne of Many!

No, no, nooooo I am not going to perm or relax my hair. Those days are over with! I have had dreadlocks for over a decade and I'm ready for a change. I want to rock a curly fro, or a press and curl when I want it straight. I've been natural for over 15 years and plan on keeping it that way. Thanks for watching my video and dropping me a line!! Stay tuned!! Best

  • your perming your hair..... why?
