Yes, I unlocked my hair - using the same method you used, except I used a rattail comb. I wish I had known not to cut my hair first though. But my hair is growing quite nicely. It took me a day and a half to get all the locks unlocked. I am very happy with the result! You can check out my natural hair journals.
Hello, I absolutely love your videos. I had locs for about 5 years and after watching your videos I got my locs unraveled at a shop..my hair came out pretty long...Locs were fun but Im so happy to finally put a comb through my hair...
This is my first time viewing your videos. You are beautiful and I most admit I noticed the wall color immediately! LOL is that weird? I have burnt orange walls in my living/dining room. Oh, ok....I'm having a moment...lol
*Seriously, I'm taking my locks out this month. And I'm excited!
Today makes 4 weeks of my taking my locs down :) And I have 18 more to go...I had 150 locks this experience has be extremely tiring but exciing at the same time..I plan on making a powerpoint presentation showing before, during and after pictures! Thanks again for the inspiration!
If you don't mind me asking, what made you decide to take your dreads out? I am 3 yrs strong with dreads and I love them. But I do sometimes think about taking them out.
omg i love your dreads! i dont think i would ever get them because my parents would kill me and i dont know if they would damage my hair or if the locks would leave my hair how it was. if i did get dreads i would love yours though
I have been growing my hair since the summer of 06 right after my first semester of college :) I LOVE my locs, but I never really go to see the potential of my natural hair, since I went form the big chop and straight to locs. I have decided to unlock my hair this weekend actually....I'm a little scared about the hair loss, but I'm excited to see what happens! You have inspired me and I LOVE your hair! Thank you!
Damn I love you hair! I want to get dreadlocks as well but I am afraid I'm going to regret, and that when I take them out my hair is, well sorry the expression but "fuck up", and really frizzy. I kind of have frizzy hair now as well, but I cover it up with styling-producks.. :)
Your shirt is super cute!! Haha and I love your locs, I'm jealous of the length tho because I'm only 8 months in :( But I watched your other vid and your natural hair looks amazing, long and healthy. Whenever I decide I'm tired of my locs, this is what I'm going to dowith them :) Thanks forthe inspiration, peace and blessings.
I just looked at your new video with your hair straight but I have a question. I'm a newbie (7weeks) into my loc journey but I have been natural for over 8 years. My question is ... Did UNLOC'N your hair do anything to your spirit either good or bad? Did it release you in some sort of a way. Thanks for sharing sis and you look amazing. All the best!
Heeeey!!! What a good question! Thank you! As I began taking out my locs, I started feeling lighter and lighter. I felt like a load had been taken off of my shoulders. When you loc you hair it does not shed. So when I took out my loc, I had shed a lot of hair and lost about 4lbs. Also, when I took out all of my locs- I felt really light headed; almost faint. At the same time I felt lifted and free. The whole process has been liberating; having locs and taking them out. Best!
Thank you for watching my videos! Yes- there are a few products that I used relentlessly including a deep conditioning cholesterol treatment- this is the most important! I would recommend that your boyfriend wash his hair (or even washes one loc at a time). Make sure he rinses all of the shampoo out; because it can make his hair a little tricky to take out if it still has suds. Then apply the cholesterol treatment, and a detangler. Don't forget the dessert fork!
No, no, nooooo I am not going to perm or relax my hair. Those days are over with! I have had dreadlocks for over a decade and I'm ready for a change. I want to rock a curly fro, or a press and curl when I want it straight. I've been natural for over 15 years and plan on keeping it that way. Thanks for watching my video and dropping me a line!! Stay tuned!! Best
Ur videos helped me out so much...I took my gf's locks out using ur way...fork and all...so easy...thx
