I remember hearing Collaboration of Mics back in the summer of 97 from a station broadcast from Toronto. I heard it while listening from Ottawa. Still sounds fresh and new to this day and not much can beat it. The DJ played some wicked tracks after then, and finished off that first hour with Jay Z's "Who You Wit" and a over the phone interview with Hurricane Starang! It was awesome! I just have to find my tape of that recording! Anyone from that area remember this or have it recorded?

Did Dj Premier have any experience with beats before he learned?

As i know Premo started he's career in 1987, and Showbiz got he's debut in 1990 on Lord Finesse's album - Funky Technician, who contained 5 or 6 tracks produced by Premo .

So i think he had some experience with making beats, only Showbiz influenced he's style in he's afterworks.

Probably the best MC/producer from his time (him and Diamond D.) Haven't heard him flow in a long while. Heard he gave it up.
