  • Awwww...:)

  • it is SO beautiful, makes me cry, Merry Christmas!

  • i still believe in santa, and im 17. this is such a great song. happy thanksgiving to you to kermit.

  • @djthereplay ur right Santa exists in the magic and spirit of Christmas but people are so ignorant by having religious s debates on videos like this. I'm 17 and have 3 younger brothers so the childhood still exists in my house and I have my inner child that I will never loose. And it makes me mad that I want to show my youngest brother this and I have to see comments about quoting the bible and how this so is " wrong"

  • U all make me sick to leave comments like that. Just listen to the song from the heart of a child and shut the fuck up. Happy Holidays :)

  • @joefats123456789

I`ll put it to you this way. I believed in Santa Claus as a child. In a way, Amazingly enough, I STILL Believe in Santa Claus as an adult, ..... only in a different way.

I believe in Santa Claus in a way as Fantasy teaching the the moral value that enbodies Christmas of give each other our best gift, as GOD gave us HIS best gift in a manger His Son, Our Lord, Jesus Christ.

    - Dwight

  • Kermit has a beautiful voice...I am NOT kidding.

  • I can't believe 3 years have rolled by... I was in this

  • This just made me cry.

  • Great song and performance (singing and puppeteer)! And true! Great all around!

  • I love the beautiful lyrics.

  • i was one of the kids on the float, if you look at the very beginning i am the fourth to the left......i had a lot of fun at the parade!!!!!!!!

  • @meganlovesutube I beleve you. I wish I could do such a thing! you lucky duckling!!!

  • i was one of the kids on the float, when you look at the very beginning im the fourth one from the end....i had a lot of fun in the parade!!!!

  • <3 kermit :)

  • God is a myth. Santa Claus is a myth.

Kermit the frog is as real as it gets.

  • Kermit ROCKS,,

After a bad night this video made me smile......Thanks....)

  • That was the best day of my life i was on the float with camp broadway!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope to do it again it was so fun...

  • I believe in Santa Claus.I believe he is real and he takes nothing away from christmas

  • The combination of Kermit and the nostalgia for the days I believed in Santa make this song so beautifully poignant.

  • 30 days till christmas

  • I can't wait until Christmas! its coming!!!!!!! yay!

  • PLUS! I think this song encapsulates everything Jim Henson was aiming for by creating the Muppets. <3

  • Does this make anyone else cry? I just get a rush on emotion because I'm so instantly reminded of my childhood. It's perfect. It's all about why we tell children about Santa Clause and what Santa is supposed to represent. And, plus, Kermit is a BAMF. :D

  • Oh, and by the way, I love this video! it was soo cute! I still love kermit! :D

  • @Yamano yeah as I grew older my parents had to tell me that Santa isnt real =_= which is really a bummer cuz I really thought that there was a "Santa" out there! But.. oh well.. I guess parents just make up those stories about "Santa Claus" and pass it on to there children and carry it on like a tradition cuz I guess they want to see their kids happy :)... heh its really good to have parents :P

  • Great clip! This perfectly captures the magic of Christmas and the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade for a child, to my mind. This sort of thing is why I love the holiday season so much. We need more stuff like this on TV these days. There was much more of it back in the '80's, actually.

  • Steve is so cute. What a sweet performance. I think he turned that song into something special.

  • I wish I could talk to Kermit and Steve.

  • @AmaraAnon If I could put the song in a Muppet Christmas special I think I'd use several more of William Schermerhorn's songs from the parade (he writes the lyrics but the music varies from Andrew Lippa to Michael Feinstein and recently Wesley Watley) and the finale would be similar to the one from the 2009 parade, using the same songs, and the version Kermit did with Tiffany Thornton would be played over the closing credits

  • @AmaraAnon Jim Henson would be so proud & grateful of the way that Steve Whitmire's been keep Kermit the Frog & Ernie alive!!!!

  • nvm that was last year

  • this was this year it's the same float and people im pretty sure

  • Where can I get/download this song? I love it!

  • to this song

  • @reyrey4224 Lyrics for the commercial version (missing one section) are on Song Lyrics - Google it

  • does anybody know how 2 get the lyrics

  • God and Santa Rock!!!!!!!!

  • I saw me! I was in Camp Broadway's performance last year, and it's great to revisit these memories from last year, my first time in New York.

It's absolutely amazing, and even though I didn't get to do it this year, I'm hoping I'll be able to do it next year.

  • This song is so touching! I hope they do it every year... It almost makes me cry haha

  • didnt tiffany sing with him?

  • @jooannne this year yes the video is from last year

  • This year at Macy's Thanksgiving Parade was awesome and I love Kermit the Frog singing "Believe" in the end.

  • does he sing this every macy thanksgiving...cause this year he sang with tiffany thornton

  • Well... last year was the first time they did this song. They wrote the song for the parade so they'll probably do it from now on...

  • "I believe in a wonderous place he calls the imagination. "

    My favorite line

  • toesoxofdhoom - I just had to correct one point - Heaven is NOT a reward to people from God for living a "good" life. No person lives a "good" life in the eyes God. We get into heaven for accepting and believing in Jesus and his sacrificial death. "For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God" - Rom 3:23

That being said - I love Christmas, Santa Claus included. :)

  • Your strict Christian standpoint is flawed. The commercialized story of Santa Claus can be related to St. Nicholas, a man who did God's work. The idea is that children who are good and do God's work are rewarded with presents. Somewhat like the reward of heaven should people live a good life in God's eyes. It so also happens that Santa Claus is a symbol of childhood and joy. This song says that loud and clear.

That doesn't seem making him like god at all, to this Catholic girl.

  • Love kermit love this song! ^_^

Ha, thats funny I dont know anyone who tells their kids santa is REALLY real. I thought of santa as a kid the same way I thought of snoopy - except snoopy didnt have a holiday where I got tons of gifts of course.

  • As far as santa distracting from God.... hah

I don't think Christmas is a christain holiday so it doesnt matter. Jesus wasnt born in winter and the 'christmas' traditions all come from other religions. I think Christ would prefer us to remember his death not birth... as that was what was more important. I celebrate christmas as a secular holiday and Easter/Passover is the more spiritual time for me.

    I still love christmas though

  • I am aware of what you are saying about how modern Christmas has come about. God wants His people to love Him everyday. Christmas would still be regarded as supposed to be about Jesus Christ.

  • I absolutely adore this song! I'm so glad they brought it back for the parade this year again.

  • The worst and most blasphemous thing I've ever seen on television because I don't think Santa Claus is a metaphor for Jesus Christ. "You shall have no other gods before me." Yeah why not tell children a lie instead of telling them about the one true God who is the author of all miracles. Christmas? Clausmus is more like it.

  • Would you like to also bash the Easter bunny and the tooth fairy?

What a horrible attack on childhood.

  • Woah woah you miss the point, the idea of santa is the spirit of giving not the commercialism... 0_0 this encourages childhood innocence right here...

  • I didn't say anything about commercialism. Fact is Santa Claus is the greatest false god figure of our time. He robs recognition and glory from Jesus Christ who is what Christmas is really about.

Do you people equate childhood innocence with deception?

  • O well but you see you can't expect Chidren to really fully understand all the heavy stuff, I personally was taught both he's not a flase god, people dpn't worship him ,he doesn't demand sacrifice or anything Yes while this is what Cristmas is really about and that should be taught, i still think that Santa's idea is basically right.

  • yeah lying isn't right i never could figure that aspect of it out and alot of kids do get upset when the truth comes out I agree, my parents taughjt me that santa was just a part of the season and that he's not bad because we should try to be like him, giving generously and asking nothing in return. in this aspect it actually rather parallels a lesson taught in the bible. Not stealing it but teaching the same principal.

  • I Also believe I miss your point on the love aspect, Jesus was given to us in the "mirical" of Gods everlasting love for us. And as far as I have ever learned in any church service, love is what it's all about, love god love your neighbors love your enemies, love yourself just not too much (God helps those who help themselvs so don't just sit and pitty yourself, but the pride come befor the fall too.) So I think you lost me a bit there... =(

  • "God helps those who help themselves" is not in the bible. Jesus said the greatest commandment is "Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength." God is love, without loving God first and foremost we can have no true love. God is what it is all about. Principals don't matter unless used while loving God. Everyone should revere God because He deserves to be revered. Love is about God. 1st, God loving us. 2nd, us loving God. 3rd us loving others.

  • No not in the bible but commonly taught I was explaining my point, the rest of your post is exactly what I was saying.

  • I'll try to help explain your point. Being selfih isn't just thinking too highly of yourself but also thinking of yourself too much. A depressed person who hates theirself is selfish just like a narcissist. Just because something is commonly taught (even in church) doesn't mean it is true. "God helps those who help themselves" is a selfish idea 'if you help yourself God will help you' "From where doesn my help come? My help comes from the Lord, the Creator of heaven and earth!" (Psalm 121:1-2)

  • XD That wasn't my point at all! My point in that spacific statement was pride in excess=bad, and well, what I meant by "those who help thmeselvs" isGgod's not going to do everything for you, he'll help you out of wherever you are guarenteed, but he HELPS you he won't most of the time just give you the answer but he'll help YOU figure out the answer, at least in my personal experiences. I've come to believe that's because if he just gave the answer I wouldn't learn anything. :)

  • If you're going to quote something about God you should quote it from His word. Pride as the bible defines it is bad. Loving yourself and taking care of your health is good. God's word gives all the important answers already we are to obey what it says. We show God we love Him by obeying Him. Things God has told us in His word to do boil down to: Know God & Love God (abide in Him and His word), bear spiritual fruit, and make disciples (teach others how to do all four of these things).

  • Ok then I'll admit you were probably right there, I thought tho that for an explanation of a point I would use something that most everyone knows, that's all, no offence meant. I am still confused why you keep reitterating what I just said in your posts. XD don't answer that. This was just meant to be a video for the enjoyment of the Holidays but it has seemed to have turned into an argument ground so I think I'll just let this alone. I simply meant when I came here to defend Santa.

  • I'm not sure how but I seem to have gotten into an argument much more deeply involved in religion than first presented, which is not really something for the comments on a muppet video, so I'll say only this more.

Go Kermit I love you always! :)

  • Santa isn't keeping anyone from teaching their children about the true meaning of Christmas. Christ came for all of us through the love of God to save us. Nobody called Santa a god. As for the song, did it ever say Santa was the one who caused "the miracle of love" or that he is "what life is all about?" No, what it's saying is that life is about believing in that which is unseen. Read the famous New York Sun Editorial "Yes Virginia There is a Santa Claus." You'll see the parallels then.

  • Something doesn't have to be called a god for it to be treated like one. The lyrics do attribute these things to Santa Claus "How can a man in red, now change the world I thought I knew." "I believe in the miracle of love BECAUSE oh yes I believe in santa claus." Parallels are worse if no credit is given to God. The image of Santa Claus and his story replace what Christmas is really all about. Not principals of love and good deeds but Jesus Christ who produces love and good deeds.

  • Yes, Santa may be an invention of the minds of men, but it is not a sin to have childlike hope in that. If that were true than wouldn't anything fictional be a sin against God? Santa is about the love in the hearts of men and loving one another. True most people teach it without any connotations to God but that should not condemn the entire concept. The way it should be taught is that we do these things in celebration of the love God gives us best shown through His death on the cross.

  • Santa Claus is presented as real. I don't know of kids thinking of cartoons as real much less their parents telling them they are real. Love without God is nothing because God is love.

  • Which is why I said it is up to us to teach all children where love truly comes from. I agree with you that people all too often forget the true meaning of Christmas and replace it with myths of Santa and other things. You are completely right in saying that it is wrong to replace that. However, there is nothing wrong with including it so long as you ultimately affirm that God is the reason for all of it.

  • I do not completely disagree with you. People need to know the truth of Christ above all. But there is no reason to deprive children of a tradition such as this. Eventually they will reach an age when they discover Santa may be a fable. But as long as you teach them properly, they will always have the Lord to turn to. I wonder if you believed in Santa Claus as a child.

  • I never did and thus never had a negative experience in finding out about the lie (I say this to confirm that I'm not bitter about that point). Lies are still lies. Having no regard for the command of God (do not lie), you hold fast to human tradition. (Mark 7:8). Why distract from God is He not enough to get the point of love and giving to be put across?

  • If I may reenter this for just one moment, I think you need to wach "Santa Clause is Comming to Town." That's all I'll say. Message me when you have, and I think (and hope) you'll see things from at least where I stood :)

  • @Yamano OH BE QUIET! >:-( I'm 14 and I still believe in Santa Clause

  • @emsytraut Sorry! I wasn't trying to say that you shouldn't believe in Santa. In fact, I was almost definite of his existence until I was 15. My point was that Santa doesn't take away from the true meaning of Christmas, which is Christ. I'm really not saying that you shouldn't believe in Santa. In fact, I can't honestly say that I deny his existence. After all, there's no real evidence he isn't there. And who am I, or anyone for that matter, to say that there is no such thing as Santa Claus?

  • @Yamano Amen. Jesus may be the core of Christmas, but to deny the festive elements of the season would be the mark of a close-minded and unpleasant person.

  • @Yamano You don't seem to have a soul. How can you critisise one myth by refering to another. Belief in simple things that bring happiness to a lot of people is fantasic and if you listen to the words, allows for imagination.

  • @john2Hand I didn't criticize the myth of Santa at all! That's exactly the opposite of what I was saying! I was saying that there is nothing wrong with believing in Santa Claus! Please read my post carefully before accusing me of that.

  • Santa died long ago. His spirit lives in everyone. Some just choose not to let it out because of greed or miseducation.

  • Santa is a spirit. He died long ago.

  • THe STAGEDOOR MANOR PERFORMING ARTS STUDENTS ARE GOING TO BE DOING THIS SONG IN 2009! GO SDM!!

  • Lyrics:

    What makes a miracle

What makes a Christmas dream come true How can a man in red,now change the world I thought I knew. How can there be miracles If hearts are filled with dought next time I leave my dought behind and find what lifes about *Chorus:I believe in a wondrous place he calls the imagination I believe in his childhood world of hope and celebration I believe in the miracle of love because oh yes I believe in santa claus.*

  • Its no easy week on city street to touch a weary heart but in my heart the dream begins and the miracle will start! *Chorus* Its Snowflakes, angels, sleighbells ringing, lights that twinkle, children singing I believe in santa claus
