1. Why order DVDs? Download episodes at animetake

2. To Aru Majutsu no Index is the parent story. Chronologically it takes place after Railgun, but it's the original story. I recommned you to watch it first. (It's amazing, really, I love it!)

Also going back to the Railgun topic 6 months ago. Wouldn't it be fair to say that 'repulstion' isn't the key factor in Misaka's railgun. Since real railguns need rails to complete the electrical circit and create repulsion. Misaka does not need that. The factor behind it would have to be the amount of electricty and the amount of force she puts in her tumb the minute it hits the coin, right

I just realised that Misaka should be able to fly using her ability. If she could create a large (very large) sustained electric field around herself, she could accelerate ions around her and create lift. Check out wiki for 'Ionocraft' if your interested :)

I'm no genius, but I'd have to say electro-magnetism, but instead of attracting metal objects, it repels them (reverse.. polarity?) at great speed. Hence referring to it as a railgun.

When a large current is passed through the circuit, since the projectile is perpendicular to the rails, the magnetic field of the projectile opposes the fields of the rails producing a force.
