@kiwi047 It is sad that you need to be afraid of religion getting involved. So many out there don`t get it. It`s supposed to be a beautiful means of bringing people together and discussing just these sorts of things and how they impact us and our lives. The Tao Te Ching says that even the mightiest weapon is just un unhappy tool. That would make religion the unhappiest tool of all.
@KSchomann I'm not afraid, well long story short my mum smacked me lots and washed my mouth out wit soap for swearing all in "the name of the lord" so yeah I can undrestand and appreciate the happiness in ones life with "God" but for me its just painful memories. Also I wish Go would save my kids from my useless ex letting them drink toilet water because she is a useless mother but I don't see any "saviour" yet. So yeah based on personal experience mate Im sorry but God just doesn't exist for me
@kiwi047 remember god gave us free choice to to make our own decsions and take our own path, if god existed in the way u expect we wouldnt be able to get out of bed without his permision. sadly because of free choice alot of bad things happen because of decisions and paths taken by the others around you. yes as a child u didnt have much choice cuz of the people around you, but now its your choice.
This is a true song. Wrote from the Heart of our God. I know, You don't have time for that crap right! But read the words of Jesus in Matthew 25:30-46
No, it's not about your dark age religion. stop hijacking works of art with your misguided dogma. it's a song about mental illness and depression. It's absolutely despicable how parasites like you attach to the beautiful things of the world as an example of your bullshit. God doesn't give a damn about the homeless and he doesn't give a damn about you. You're talking about someone who committed global infanticide in the flood. A perverse mockery of human imagination.
@OpalZero You`re fervent anti-religious attitude is religious and dogmatic in its own right. By telling us, beyond any doubt, what this song is about, you are no different than those religious fundamentalists who tell others what God is beyond any doubt, and leave no room for interpretation. To me, this song has always been about a man who suffered through unrequited and lost his way, and is looking for another love to set him straight again. But then, what do I know.
I agree with 44SnowSkate44 (8 months ago...) on the subject matter at hand. I think it's about a longing to be loved rather than the literal translation (homelessness). But yes, very touching montage.
Ideal, humanistic theme. Anyway there´s people whom like to rest homeless...think on all sides of everything or we´ll loose our head just for feelings...

flat flat flat... oje... just another flat flat flat idea, that goes through the internet and needs a lot of energie, to be saved in any server in that world. you do better give a man a dollar, than that flat flat flat post!
@44SnowSkate44 Yea I think so too! I think when he said give a man a home it's talking about about a person a place to go relieve all tha feelings he's feeling in tha verses....
This was played on LARRY KING LIVE during his show on the tragic death of HEATH LEDGER...Ben harper was apparently one of Heath's business partners. Beautiful song beautiful man...America and Austrailia lost a lot this week...
please dont turn this to religion. everyone is here to listen to the song, whether or not they enjoy it. But pleasee keep religion out of this

The meaning of this song is about our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. This is the man he is talking about you giving a home to.
