@CrimKazanawa LOL, i was talking about real life ninjas. (i am a practicioner of Ninjutsu). but, yes. as far as fictional ninjas go, taki definitely fills the bill.
This was a wildly irresponsible demonstration. A laser beam focuses to a pinpoint on the retina. Any but a very weak beam causes a burn. These were strong laser beams and were green, a bad color because the red retina absorbs it. One slip, and this highly accomplished and trained martial artist could have had seriously impaired vision for the rest of her life. Was she even informed of this? Viewers weren't. Did she succeed on her first try? Who knows -- if she didn't, it was not shown.
@mindykelly143 Thanks for replying. Some risks are worth taking, Others are not. I am also thinking of the risk to National Geographic and the oddity of the video's not at least mentioning the hazard. The demonstration showed you off as a remarkable athlete, but unlike with, say, high-wire artists who perform without a safety net, the hazard would not be obvious to viewers. If part of your appeal is supposed to be about daredeviltry, then why keep it a secret?
A simple motion tracker like the ones that turn on porch lights are a better security system than this. I am extremely inflexible but could get by this easy by army crawling.
@napoleon1051 Wtf are u talkin about kid, just because men are physicaly stronger than women doesn't mean they are better. Women are naturally more flexible then men and flexibility opens alot of doors to for people as you can see. Try using your brain before you speak or type in this case.
@napoleon1051 Yeah man, it's becoming a woman dominated world out there. In the past fifty years, colleges have gone from male dominated campuses to female dominated. Of course, there aren't too many women leaders that I know of. However, there are plenty of women pulling strings, important ones at that.
this is not ninja its korean tkd flippy flip. this is why i hate mainstream commercial BS cause they never get the best of the best kung fu ppl. (Masters). they create ignorance on what style is traditional and what's acrobatics invented to sell to american teens for 200 dollars a hr.
I think the best 'warriors' take what works from any styles they come across and toss what doesn't work. No one style is 'ultimate.' That's how I've studied it, myself. Of course, I know others don't necessarily agree. Too much pin-headed 'competition.'
Back to my original point, however. The laser test is still useless in effectively showing how classic 'ninjas' infiltrated to get to their target(s). Sure, she has exceptional flexibility - which is NEVER a useless skill in combat - and her adaptability in the situation, but that hardly proves how ninjas actually infiltrated. Ninjitsu practitioners arent the best warriors, either. Ive seen so-called ninjas get beat down in the UFC and other venues, but that hardly means anything.
There's too many misconceptions about martial arts in general, along with mistranslations of the older arts. Many of these 'styles' have been heavily influenced by western interpretation and seem to somehow miss the mark. By no means, however, am I saying they're unskilled. There's ALWAYS someone in the world that's better than the current 'best.' I honestly doubt there's an 'ultimate' fighting style that trumps all others. 'Over specialize, you breed in weakness.'
All this doesn't mean the poor idiots on the show AREN'T good at the styles they study. They probably are, but are hampered by the idiocy of western 'scientists' that don't know how to REALLY research the data. As for martial artists going into the UFC - really, it doesn't fit into the traditional mind-set of martial artist practitioners. All it is is simply another type of 'boxing' set up. Not saying they DON'T have skill; UFC, however, ISN'T a real representation of how real fighting happens.
Black Shinobi Shozoku just saved me a hell of a lot of explaining. These people are ninja's,While amazing martial artists they don't study Budo Taijutsu or as many would call it ninjutsu. Also the "Fight Science crew" don't know their asses from their mouths. How can they lie so whole heartedly? They know those people aren't ninjas and considering this is nat geo and everyone eats whatever comes on this show likes it's food, people will believe that these people really are ninjas.
All this about UFC fighters being superior is nonsense. They're only superior at fighting each other in a strength-and-size contest--in a cage. Anyone fighting in a cage before spectators might as well be a pit bull. No real intelligence required. Ninja training is focused on evading the fight, getting in and doing your job and getting out again without raising an alarm. If you must fight, you can, but you've been trained with a wide array of skills and weapons.
It shows her ingenuity and ability to improvise. Her true flexibility is her ability to adapt to the situation which is a timelessly useful ability. By all means though, criticize exceptional people and maybe no one will notice how incredibly ordinary and useless you are.
The UFC, by no means, is a measure of how a 'real fight' would go down on the street. Most of those 'fighters' would've had their butts handed to them, regardless of size, speed, etc. Fights, TRUE fights, is hardly measurable in such environments.
Then why don't you go find those guys and tell them to get into UFC and make a whole bunch of money. Since they would hand all these trained fighters "their butts".
Fact remains fighters in the UFC have proven their ability in hand to hand combat. And they've done it in a cage with nothing else to defend themselves. Just flat canvas. If you're going to pull "Weapons, Nut tagging, and eye gouging." Guess what?!?! They can do it too!
What's really interesting about all the comments regarding this segment, is that not one person seems to have caught on to the test being useless by the show's own admission. They 'attempt' to show how a 'ninja' can infiltrate into a period caslte, 'past guards,' etc. How, I ask you, does showing us she can bend in all sorts of angles, etc, to get through a room full of lasers, does this show anything other than flash? The test is utterly useless before they started.
pat 4... became World Champion of the UFC in 3 fights!! Against men who are "deadly". What does that tell you?.. size and power matters. If it didn't Brock would have gotten his *** beaten and left the UFC in shame. So don't just practice martial arts/boxing. Hit the gym too. You need that size and power for any fighting situation.
Pt 3... Again, I'm not hating.. but it bothers me a little when they think they're so tough. Same goes for kids. Little 70-80lbs kids who have their black belts already!! Give me a break! How does getting your black belt at the age of 8 prove anything?! A black belt used to mean something. Now, all the U.S.-based martial art schools have "sold out". You can practially buy a black belt for your dog if you have enough money! - LOL - Take a guy like Brock Lesnar. Yes, we all hate him. But the man..
Pt 2 ...showing off his skills. The other guy in the ring was much bigger than him. Maybe by 50lbs. As the fight starts, "Ninja boy" does one or two fancy kicks... then the bigger guy just picks him up and smashes him to the ground like a rag doll. He's flopping around, mouth open like a fish struggling for air! Just goes to show, these fancy "theatrics" are no substitute for raw size and power in a fight. Put this little lady up against your average man and she's going to get hurt.
I agree. She probably had made skills in bed. - LOL - No offence to her... but she's probably all of 5 feet tall and 100lbs. She could have the skills of Bruce Lee and she'd still get her *** kicked by the average man. Size and power matter in real fights. I get tired of these 5 feet tall women thinking they're all bad ***. Reminds me of the video on youtube of the skinny little white guy who knows TKD. He's in a cage fight and before the fight he's doing splits, spinning heel kicks...
The taller and stronger you are, the better chance you have in a fight (unless there are weapons involved). So, it doesn't really matter that she's petite. There's always going to be someone bigger than you, but why not give yourself the skills needed and do the best you can with what you have.
@Shadow2271 When some dude wishbones you in a fight because he's just a big strong ox, then I'd rather be extremely flexible and not have a fractured or broken pelvis, so that I could still win the fight.
Impressive show of physical ability. However, none of this has anything to do with stealth or Ninjutsu. Modern security systems do not use visible fixed lasers - for this reason. And what's this about a "Ninja Strike"? Entertaining, but that's all this is.
