  • Longplay = 3:36, LOL!

  • I had the shorter version of this that started in the country side. I could never get through the city. It was impossible to tell where the radiation was without actually hitting it, and then it is kind of too late. And I never did figure out where to go. The controls were so terrible, I crashed all the time. And that view, more than half the screen taken with the instruments and that banner with that little sliver to actually see where you are going.

  • Awesome music :)

  • Christ what an amazingly short game! Very frustrating to play but addictive at the same time and what awesome music!! I could never get to the end of the second part which turns out is the end of the game! lol

  • Wow, I'm glad I never bought this game, it is not much of a game after all! I had a hacked copy and it started on the green grassy part which I never could get past because the controls were so bad.

I got to this because apparently Ford Falcon cars were called the Last V8. The 1973/4 models were used in Mad Max.

  • Were the Heck is V8, Return to Base. Imedaitly! Guy in this Version, His voice is better.

  • Didn't the Commodore 128 version have 3 levels?

    Just a thought.

  • @Knowles87 This is the C128 version, where there was an additional level to pick up nuclear fuel rods on Mars.

  • where'd that first level (& speech) come from?

  • Very good video. Loved and hated this game all at the same time. Very strange version indeed. Is it homebrew?.

  • @Sclemtak

No, it was on official low budget-release.

  • I had no idea! The very start of this version reminded me of (Red Max).

  • I had no idea the game was that short! I never made it to the science base - I'd just assumed that there were a few more levels after that.

    Thanks for sharing. :)

  • One of the shortest, but also damn hardest games on the C64.. EVER...

  • Video description says -

"Longplay from the C64 game "Law Of The West".

  • Whops! Thanks. :)

  • @DerSchmu Isn't this the Commodore 128 version?

  • @joakimwilliam

Yes ist is. But the only difference between the versions is the additional level.

So I thought it was okay to take this version for an longplay.

  • @DerSchmu - not quite! The speech is different as well between both versions as well. Mind you, the music still bugs the same even in this one!

  • Great music, annoying sound fx.. I also remember only driving through the countryside

  • What kind of extended super plus edition is this? Mine only had the road+base driving, and not as much speech.

  • @scythianus I absolutely agree. This version has very strange speech and a start level that looks like it`s from Red Max.
