  • can you do remote on ps3 as well?

  • splashtop downlod is free?

  • Does the computer actually have to be "on" or can it be in stand by mode and be woken up by the tablet?

  • kinda creepy video :))))

  • is there a way you can use it without opening the files on the desktop of the computer ?

  • you want remote desktop i suggest WYSE POCKETCLOUD there is a free version that is very good no ads also a pro one if what you want to do is beyond the scope of the regular version. Pro version has just more encryption

  • RIPOFF, I DOWNLOADED YOUR STUPID APP(COST ME MONEY, AND I DIDN'T GET A REFUND U JERK) ON MY PC AND TRANSFORMER AND THEN IT CRASHED MY HOMEHUB. EXPLAIN THAT U VIRUS PROGRAMMING JERK.

  • there is some problem i found. in my tf, the screen is following what i touch in tf. it cant drag and drop anythin in desktop because of it. what should i do ??

  • when i saw this, i am 100% getting the Asus eee pad

  • I'm thinking to take the Transformer as soon as the 3G version comes out... and this remote app seems to work great! (FYI Edmonton... I love your city!!!)

  • Jebus, simplify your desktop!!! Ugly!

  • If your tower is hooked up to your router via ethernet, can you connect the transformer to the router via wifi and it will still work?

  • thumbs up if you spotted greenposi0n

  • have you tried photoshop? does it recognize multi keyboard button pushes?

  • Splash for android is way better. You can game from 100 miles away with decent broadband

  • Ok, so can you control your home computer if it is on, and you are 100 miles away? if that is the case, what is the lag like with games or videos?

  • @IraSavatgy No, you can't. It works if the TF and your PC or Mac are connected to the same wi-fi. If you need to remote in from 100 miles away, you can buy the LogMeIn app on the Android Market. But you won't be able to watch movies since the buffering will be slow, but it works great for everything else, even listening to music and stuff. Look up LogMeIn.

  • @alextamulis You can, if you know how to set up your network and firewall on the computer making the Splashtop remote desktop. But you would probably want to have a good and stable upload of at least 2mbit on the server, and at least a 2mbit or higher, and also stable Internet connection on the phone at the same time.

  • @alextamulis Is there any performance issues? Is it reduced and by how much?

  • But do you experience any lag whatsoever? I remote desktop on my laptop on wi-fi and the lag was slightly noticeable and I do understand you disable some features to optimize the experience and I don't mind that as long as the video/audio doesn't drop frame rate. So this question is pertaining to the audio/video quality. I would love to stream HD movies from external hard drive hooked up to my computer remotely.

  • @colinsilver105 there's no lag whatsoever, and now they have the Splashtop Remote HD for 4.99 which is crazy fast... but the app that Asus bundled with the tabket works great, if your devices are connected to the same wi-fi router, you'll be able to watch movies in real time.

  • please do yourself a favour. clean up your desktop :(

  • @BentMachine I did it yesterday, it looks much nicer now, just a few icons :) ty for watching

  • Thanks for posting. Do you or anyone else know how to make this application not resize your desktop?

  • @terrence961 there's an option in Settings for you to change the resolution, but it might not work as great since the tablet screen is smaller, but you can try that as see if it works, I just don't mind that resizing.

  • @alextamulis Dude, say i have a beast of a pc at home, can i use logmein to turn it on remotly and splashtop to control it remotly (this would include playing very demanding games), is it possible over the 3g network or a wireless network miles away?

  • @XpEAnUTBuTtERsUckSX

No dude, the PC perfromance has NOTHING to do with this.

The 3G connection and your internet@home will be to slow for this, no chance. Works only good in Home-WiFi.

  • Would this let me use the Eee Pad Transformer as a second monitor? That's one of the big selling points I have for a tablet, and if Asus has a built-in app for it, that puts it ahead pretty far.

  • @UberMan5000 I don't think so, unless you use the mini hdmi port with another monitor. So, your setup would be the TF remoted into your computer and then another monitor or TV connected to it via HDMI. But I don't even know if that setup would work, you'd have to test it out.

  • Would you be able to access your pc remotely through a separate network than the one your computer is on or is it restricted to same network access?

  • @ferretsrcrunchy yes but you'll have to use port forwarding see /watch?v=IMSVTRqkBU8

  • it looks pretty slick. does the audio from the pc come out of the devices speakers?? also how do you think playing games on it would be? Also if you plug in a keyboard and mouse?(to the USB ports on the device and dock)

  • @SteveBIRK it doesn't but I just plug my speakers into the headphone jack of the tablet and then it works the same way. I've had no problems playing games on it, so far. If you buy the docking station for it you'll have a keyboard ready to go, and then all you need is a wireless mouse via bluetooth.

  • @alextamulis Hey, I was wondering. Where you able to play a game like Starcraft II or anything that mainly uses a mouse through this? Will it not lagg really bad?

  • @Markieuh @Markieuh It shouldn't be laggy since this game can be played on an iPad (which has 512MB of RAM, and provided you jailbroke it). If you have the docking station for the Transformer, then you can use a wireless usb mouse (like the Logitech M505 for example) and you'll be able to play, provided it's been release for Android. If not, I would guess you need to root your device. But you should be able to play with a bit of tweaking on your part.

  • @alextamulis I don't mean actually playing the game, I mean streaming it from your PC. Have you ever tried playing a game like Plants VS Zombies on your Transformer streaming it from your computer?

  • Cool, can't wait to get my hand on this baby. Order from bestbuy, but currently backorder.

  • @alextamulis I fixed it! All set

  • i wish there is a work around t restriction the only on the wifi you're using, and can use from anywhere!

BTW, what's the difference between splashtop vs. TeamViewer (TeanViewer can't play vids)

  • @Aboodyksa I don't know anything about TeamViewer, but it looks nice since you can access your computer on the go. But the Splashtop Streamer is great too, especially being for free and super fast. You have to be on the same wi-fi network like you said, but since it's for free, it's still great!

  • @Aboodyksa

TeamViewer uses one of their servers to provide internet connectivity (to overcome private/non-routable IPs problem).

If you have a routable (public) IP at home, you an achieve the same thing with splatshtop. Even if you have a router, you can set up port forwarding.

There's a video on youtube on how to do that (can't remeber the uploader).

  • just a correction for the site, its xxx splashtop xxx/remote NOT xxx splashremote xxx

  • thanks for the video man :)
