  • Carlos was on drums on James Taylor live CD, which might well be the best live album in history. in doubt? Play "Sun on The Moon".

  • I wonder if it masses him up when billy the big mouth bass starts singing some CCR in the background.

  • I'm not a religious person but when James sings that second verse it gives me faith...

  • Thank you for sharing this vid. Carlos was my uncle and I was very close to him. At the end of the video, I wasn't expecting to see a close-up of him and I definitely wasn't expecting to see that smile in action ever again. It literally made me cry. It's been almost 14 years and I remember when he died like it was yesterday. Seeing that shot reminded me of the good ol' days. Again, thank you! :)

  • @frekylingus You're very welcome. I'm very sorry for your loss. He was a great musician and he played with some of the best ever. Thanks for watching and taking time to comment.

  • Thanks for the music James...love this song!

  • No silly dancers. No near post adolescent kid pretending to actually know music or life for that matter. No phony platitudes about "playing for the misfits" of society. No marketing hyperbole. Just some damn fie music!!! This is one of my favorite tunes of all time. Taylor is the best! What a nice version of HIS tune and what a voice.

  • He is definitely my all time hero of music......and I come from a long line of musicians and musical tastes!!!!! If you haven't heard him live you haven't HEARD HIM!

  • Wow, the man just gets better and better. As a kid who only listened to soul music, James Taylor was the first white male singer I really liked. His voice was/is gorgeous and mellow, deeply soulful without affecting a "black" sound. What a gem this performance is !

  • i loved listening to him with my momma as a kid. i still listen to him now ^_^

  • Geez, Carlos was a great, laid back drummer. I'd give my left-#%*#@ to play at his level; make you wonder what was going on. Miss him.

  • As Steve Gadd once said: Carlos and James wrote the book. Great performace!

  • Carlos Vega is my favourite player.

  • Carlos. Totally underrated musician..he is up there with the Gadds, Porcaros and Coliautas of this world..

  • @tosanidrums I'll go further and say that he topped Gadd, hard as that is to do. Gadd is also underrated.
