This is unlike some other performances by GG of Bach works well played. But the piano will never sound as rich like a good harpsichord. Especially when it comes to this kind of music. But "Gould is unmatched in his expression" is simply not true.

@hsichord Everybody is entitled to their own opinion, personally i believe that playing music written for the harpsichord (or any instrument) on piano allows it to be explored in greater emotional depth which is apt for a contemporary audience as well as being both insightful and inspiring for the progression and understanding of music. What Glenn Gould brings to Bach is his choice to offer, and anyone's to accept, whether or not you wish to accept it. I think it's brilliant.

This is a brilliant interpretation. No wonder Glenn Gould is the all-time greatest Bach interpreter.

Splendide, Glenn Gould n'est peut-être pas inégalable, quoique, mais certainement inimitable et reste un merveilleux interprète de Jean-Sébastien Bach,qui, s'il était encore vivant lui écrirait certainement des variations comme il a fait pour Goldberg ( bien que ce soit plutôt pour l'employeur de ce dernier)

Impresionante lo que logra tecnicamente en el piano interpretando Bach, es inexplicable , nadie lo logra...Amo la interpretacion de Martita...ella juega mas con los matices , es una genia tambien, pero Gould te hace trasladar al Barroco en un segundo...
