  • three words

    IS A CULT.

  • There's a voice in my head, telling me why I should hate you but I hate myself instead.

  • cant wait to see them on wensday :P

  • One of Bayside's best songs in my opinion. And it's not that I don't like Devotion and Desire but god knows why it's so popular.

  • this whole album is depressing as shit

  • how the fuck is this anti religous xD

  • anti religious or not still a great song

  • such a good anti religious song...

  • I don't think the song is anti-religious at all. Anti-religious would indicate some sort of disdain or active contempt against religion. Rather, the song writer has trouble believing in a "God above", and this inability to believe in merciless. To put it another way, the songwriter may have non-religious viewpoints, but anti-religious isn't really correct. I'm sure you know someone who, themselves, is atheist, but is not actively against religion.

  • You know how sometimes you make really smart, intelectual, grammaticaly pristine comments, and other times you make retarded comments?

    That was one of them.

I am one of those atheists...

  • this song os about not believing in good and getting drunk, that is why it is written its on their dvd for sirens

  • yeah I'm sure thats exactly what he was going for...

  • This song isn't against religion in any way hahaha, its about controdiction in life. How one minute, you can do great things, and turn around and do horrible things.

  • It's altar, not alter.

  • is it really? i get both alter and altar from different sources, the itunes music store has it listed as alter.

  • They have it wrong. Alter means to change, but an altar is the thing you use to sacrifice stuff.

  • I realise what the word means, when it comes to song names however meaning and context do not have a huge bearing. All that matters is what the band chose to use. Do you have a copy of the physical disk and its case to verify or shall I go with whichever word is more prominant when looking through credible sources?

  • I don't know the band, so I don't know if they meant boys who do stuff for priests or if they meant boys who signify some kind of change. Listening to the words of the song, I would guess that they mean the religious thing. Also at the beginning of the video, it says altar boys. I know what you mean, though, about meaning and context having nothing to do with song and band names.

  • to settle the argument. the back of the cd case says Alter boys. not Altar. Good debate tho. i enjoyed it lol.

  • So did I. I wonder why they used the wrong word.

  • maybe they didn't research it and it's just a typo? Or either the meaning of the song is different than what you would think. who knows how musicians minds work lol.

  • thinking about it, it could be that pills and bacardi bring out the alter(ed) boys

  • @geoff8 Wikiepedia says "Altar". But that's not always reliable.

  • YEAH

  • lyrics are off at parts :/

  • where at?

  • well, it was my source that was wrong :P
