Holy Crap. I thought I was the only one who remembered this one. I use the word "remember" loosely because I can only recall two things. 1. That BIG ASS turtle with their initials carved into it's shell. 2. The creep fest that lasted for weeks after I watched this scary ass movie as a little kid.
And NO, mom! I don't give a fuck about the sea turtle exhibit. Fuck the sea turtles.
I barely remember this movie as I was just a kid when it came out. All I remember is being creeped out by this giant turtle dragging this guy underwater because he was entangled by a rope.
This is a movie I let my children, ages 5 and 7 watch, because so much of films today are crap.........sadly the slower than today's pace offer a challenge to children of today; it's nice to know I can expose mine to quality films that aren't filled with violence and gratuitous sex............ I had a good time in my childhood watching such movies, why can't children today do the same?
it's funny, with Vivaldi's score.......like my earlier post, I saw it in '78 when I was 11.......then years later I got in the classical phase of music interest.......hearing the same Vivaldi' score - i was thinking, wait, I KNOW this tune! but from where? Then I found the movie, Thank God.............such a beautiful score seared into my mind after warching this movie..............can't wait to get it from Amazon.............Connie Seleca: what you did for puberty!
Like many others, I saw this movie at the tender age of 11. For years it pleasantly haunted me until I found youtube (yeah!) .......i've got it ordered off Amazon now, and look forward to seeing it. Of course, it' won't have the magic as before, but still will be enjoyable...........Connie Selleca, oh my.
This is one of the saddest and haunting love stories than can exist...if you understand what I mean...you´ll shed a tear everytime you listen to this song too deeply...love does exists...
This movie scared the hell out of me when I was 5, I didn't understand why the little girl went with the turtle...would love to see it again. Very haunting to a child!
@nerkabc2010 I was quite young when I saw it and it scared me too! It's amazing what you see as a child stays with you. I really want to see it again.
It was a pain for me trying to find out what this movie was even titled. All I remembered was this girl with glowing eyes and this giant turtle. So I actually typed those words in on a search engine years ago and found lots of other people going insane trying to find out what the movie was called. Very surreal feeling to the movie. Classic feel of the 70's.
omg i've been searching for the movie title for this for years. 4 yrs ago if you googled it, nothing wud come up. And i remember the song. Thnx for the Homage. Now where can I find the whole movie online?
I'm so glad to find this. I watched when I was younger. I remembered the haunting tune of this Vivaldi piece. At that time I did not know what it is called but it stuck with me. Years later in 2001 I came across John Williams (guitarist) Seville Concert CD. It has this. I still remembered it after all these years when it popped out. Connie is wonderful in this movie. Her sad eyes evoke the same sympathy for a monster just as Lina Leandersson's Eli in Let The Right One In.
The music stayed with me a very long time. I remembered the tune to it but do not know the title of this music. It was years later in 2001 that I came across John Williams (guitar artist) and his Seville Concert CD. It featured this number. I was so happy to remember it.
Connie here with her sad eyes reminds me of the other film I am obsessed with. Let The Right One In. Lina Leandersson has this same sad eyes that evokes sympathy for an unwilling monster.
wow at last i found this movie.. ahahaha this was the movie that my papa said to me, my name was taken in this movie,(JENNY HANEVER) my name has a history... XD....
I remember seeing this movie back in the day and being freaked out by it. Lol. I didn't understand why the girl went out with the turtle - or how she came to be wearing the same outfit she did when she was 5! Lol. I didn't know it was Connie Sellecca. Beautiful video. x
Wow! Thanks for posting this. I remember this came out in January of 1978. I remember vividly because I kept the TV guide for a few years afterward. I wasn't even a teenager yet but I had a huge crush on Connie Selleca (her movie debut) for a few years afterward. This movie was one, no one would forget if they saw it. So simple, yet so deep. The storyline along with Selleca's beauty made this movie a bit haunting for me. She was the very definition of a Siren. Thanks again!
Man I am so glad you posted this. Every since I saw this movie as a child it has always stuck with me. Only problem is that I forgot the name of it. I would ask people if they remember this movie about a giant sea turtle and a mysterious women. So glad that I've finally found it again...
Nice quality clip! First seen this when I was 8. The haunting tone still holds up after all these years. Still today I when I hear Vivaldi's Largo played anywhere I get a flash back of Connie Selleca and Huge turtles with glowing eyes.
well same here!! :-)) i still cant believe that i'd find it!! ever since i had a computer, i was always searching for this movie, looking for the giant turtle and all.... i didnt know the title and somehow when i was surfing the wikipedia.... BAM!!!! :)) this is really great. big part of my childhood. anyone, can you tell me the link wherein i can watch this whole movie?? thanks!!
wow, thought i dreamed this movie! saw it like 2 am many years ago and tried to find out the name, nobody new what i was talking about.thanks for the clip
Just ordered this DvD from the Warner Bros. site! It came out when I was 10 yrs old and thats the one and only time I watched it but have thought about it many times over the years. Did a google search on "Movie with giant sea turtle" and found it. Can't wait for it to arrive. :)
Thanks for the video, it does bring back cool memories. I remember watching the movie on TV as a kid, The main thing that stuck with me was the song "Jenny".
This Movie is now out on DVD along with Don't Be Afraid of the Dark and Bad Ronald, yeah because this one of those movies that you remember and even if they do not hold up you want to watch then again anyway.
That was amazing. I saw that last in 1979 and I have wondered what the movie was called. I goggled today and since you put this video on 4 days ago, I am very grateful that you put this movie on Youtube. Thanks so much :)

I like this. Don't ask me why. Maybe it's because of the music. They did use this piece of music in the film (Vivaldi's "Largo" for Lute)
