It's quite possible that it's about hikikomori syndrome. Kurokona is pretty much the exact opposite of the "happy-go-lucky, good at everything, friends with everyone yet still an otaku" from the show.

AFAIK, there's no story. Just a Konata who "took the dark side", rather than be a happy go lucky otaku.

I'm not entirely certain how she was created but I think the idea for Kurokona developed from an idea that Konata is the ideal of what an otaku wishes to be, good at everything, surrounded by friends yet still able to be completely geeky. Kurokona is the exact opposite, or even the more realistic version of an actually otaku. I guess you could say that this Konata would be more likely to be on Genshiken or Welcome To The NHK.
