  • this is not HK, It's just an overexposed badly contrasted image

  • @Snustad Really? What, then, is HK?

    Rich

  • I liked it, thank you!

  • @cassmlik Thanks ...

    Rich

  • If you don;t like it, don;t watch it .it's that simple

  • @f8anton Ya - that's what I say ...

    Rich

  • Looks more like a washed out B&W image. Not high key.

  • @badandy962003 Each to their own, badandy.

    Rich

  • Good and simple!

  • @thejtphotograph It's a fun technique, isn't it ...?

    Richard

  • fail.

  • @RenatoHz1 What an incredibly stupid comment!

    Rich

  • I've NEVER heard of the term High Key Image, I've worked as a Graphic Designer/Photographor for over twenty years. Basically this tutorial shows you how to select the luminosity values and render the image as a fake "illustration".

  • I'm surprised you've never heard of High Key Images. My DSLR even has a High Key Setting.

The point of the tutorial is to show folks how to use a pressure sensitive pen and tablet with the dodge and burn tools.

  • I'm surprised you've not herd of High Key Images - my DSLR has a High Key Image setting.

The point of the tutorial is to demonstrate how to use a pressure sensitive pen and tablet with the dodge and burn tools.

  • @LordArsehat are you kidding me?!

  • You're missing the point GotemCZ, the important thing here is the "technique" teached. That's what's important.

    Like it, use it.

Dont like it, then dont use it.

  • it looks unnaturally

  • Exactly - that is how it is supposed to look.

Some like and some don't ...

    Rich

  • good job man

  • Thanks!

    Rich

  • very very nice!

  • Thanks for the great comment ...!

  • can you do one changing a black and white photo to color?

  • Now that is a tad more difficult! If there is no color then you are colorizing a black and white image, right?

You can do it with multiple Hue and Saturation layers - check my site for information on color change and adding color

  • Thanks for sharing but image has no contrast and looks muggy. Try using calculations.

  • I understand what you are saying and I would agree.

The focus of the site is using a pen tablet and this is a good technique for them.

Thanks for the suggestions and I may just give it a try ...

    Rich

  • @danielmurray04 Totally agree, he doesn't even use levels. Seriously I don't mean to get shitty but it's not a technique at all at least not one that I use in my work I have no need for it. If I wanted a washed out image I would use a combination of levels, hue-saturation and the dodge and burn tools for starters!

  • You're right - I didn't use Levels and I didn't use Advanced Blending however I did use Curves. The point is to show how to use a pressure sensitive pen and tablet with the Dodge and Burn Tools.

Sorry the method does not please you ....

    Rich
