  • pew wee here comes the smoke

  • great camera work.

  • 2 stroke diesel right?

  • @mi16t Yeah thats right

  • That looked like the Harry Potter train with a desile.

  • hella telephoto

  • Fantastic

  • 0:00 WAS SO FUNNY

  • @spongebobpaul Yeah...

  • man, that thing looks like a ugly bull dog.

  • And they say steam was polluting!

  • @metalmagpie It was!

  • @metalmagpie But it smelt nicer, I always thought!

  • What does "claggs / clagging" mean? Never heard that before.

  • @tmotorman It is rail jargon for the smoke coming from diesel engines

  • @bronzeonion Actually from the Scots "clag" - a sooty dirt

  • @BanterousWanderings Interesting

  • @bronzeonion Amazing what's in the dictionary!

  • @BanterousWanderings claggy means sticky, so I don't know how that applies here, also clag means to stick, like stick it on the wall or clag it on the wall as an example.

  • @MrBriancollison In one definition, yes. However, I've already stated that it is possibly derived from the Scots "clag" - a sooty dirt, which makes sense

  • @BanterousWanderings so just CALL it smoke, then everyone knows what it means.

  • @BanterousWanderings Thanks. That makes sense then!

  • @tmotorman just some stupid term someone came up with, they really meant EXHAUST SMOKE or exhaust fumes.

Can look at this and see why we have global climate change, all this filth never goes away as the earth's atmosphere is a closed and sealed environment like a fishtank with a lid on it.

  • @NativePrairieWolf That right! I agree with you!! Looks like that thing should be put in the shop and rebuilt...or scrapped! Even our engines here in the US are not allowed to do that anymore.

  • @tmotorman Just think, that's only ONE engine, multiply that by how many are in use in a typical day and the scope of the problem becomes more apparent. All this- just to move goods and people from one location to another location.

  • @NativePrairieWolf 1 freight train in 1 journey can move more freight than a lorry can in a year and uses less fuel.

  • @110samec That wasnt my POINT, my point is human overpopulation and demand for frivolous goods, services and things is what creates this demand to move things long distance from one place to another- burning enormous amounts of polluting fossil fuels in the process for so temporary a thing as sightseeing, trips or whatever.

  • @NativePrairieWolf I get that. It seems daft that we import food from far away places (e.g. strawberries)and their ones that we grow enough of here. It seems stupid to do that.

  • the horn sounds like it ran over a duck

    good vid tho

  • @boedo1337 You could say that haha, thanks

  • @boedo1337 LOL

  • Yeah I agree...english locos (and many other european locos) are homely as hell! Not much for engineering and design. What's with all that exhaust? Burning a little oil? It did have pretty good load though, especially if cars were full. (oh excuse me! carriages)

  • @tmotorman All I know is it is supposed to make that amount of smoke!

  • @bronzeonion Hi again. Those tracks look pretty heavily used. Do they have many derailments there? What is their track speed there? Why all the ballast piled up between the tracks?

  • @tmotorman Yes quite heavily used, as far as I know there have been no derailments on that stretch of line and I dont know why the ballast is piled up between the two lines. Hope that answered your question :)

  • Very ugly loco and very ugly horn !

  • @dominikdanio111 Disagree! Great looking loco, but the horn isnt much aha

  • @bronzeonion The best of horns has got United States , but the best locos has Russia.

  • @dominikdanio111 Personally I hate the horn on US trains, The Russian diesel loco that clags like a fucker is great, but im going to have to stick with UK Class 56 as best diesel loco

  • @bronzeonion I'm sorry what I wrote , but I just don't like english locos :)

Do you like clagging? You must watch this : watch?v=lp4_x5EvE7E&feature=channel_video_title

This is Ukrainian loco with two-stroke engine , filmed in Poland.

    Greetengs from Poland !

  • @dominikdanio111 Dont be sorry, it is a matter of opinion!

  • @bronzeonion the train is great without train like this, you wouldn't have the trains you have now. the horn sounds so sad, but was only a quick horn, if he/she would have gotten into it a little longer would have sounded much better

  • I like steam locos, but this one looks odd.

  • @eltfell Quite right

  • What carbon footprint???

  • @stevie65able Haha

  • "Oh my god someone call the EPA!!"

"It's supposed to smoke like that!!!"

  • @PieMaster1994 Haha

  • Real mean shot of a Deltic.....

  • @baruze Cheers

  • What is so good about a locomotive that is obviously not in the best condition?

  • @sekundar Its supposed to make that amount of smoke

  • I have to applaud the really good zoom on the train. A lot of the time, people don't bother to use it or they don't use it properly.

  • @sweiland75 Thanks! I had 70x to play with so I may aswell have made good use of it, unfortunately the camcorder that filmed this clip has died, but my new one has 78x

  • eww, all that nasty exaust....

  • @loconegrito Nasty?! Haha

  • Nice train. Cool diesel loco. Thumbs up! :)

  • @megatwingo Thanks!

  • Take that greenpeace.

  • they ought to have a set or two or each livery

  • @ShaurntheSheep Yeah, that'd be nice

  • would look good with blue grays

  • @ShaurntheSheep Agreed, if only more railtour rakes where in that livery! Too much blood and custard or maroon knocking about these days

  • one for the environmentalists

  • Wow there is only a Deltic that can look and sound like that, excellent video...........John

  • @johnwood57 They really are somthing!

  • After watching this it made me wonder how long it will take the government to impose the green tax scam on the railways like they did with aircraft passengers.

  • @Zumzing Lets just hope not!

  • Slight comedy value of a Deltic at full tilt let down by a horn that sounds like a fart in a wind tunnel :)

  • @JIMKUltra Haha, quite similiar to alot of the Souther Region stuff

  • RIP headphone user's

  • Great piece of vid, lovely train un all.

  • Of course the hypocrisy is that you are NOT allowed to smoke a cigarette on an OPEN air platform, yet one of these things can go coughing past belching out all that shit!

  • And they said steam was dirty, but it never produced P2 particles. Just breath deep, and reduce the surplus population.

  • @GreenmanXIV Haha

  • Smoke belching piece of crap!

  • Ugliest train and horn I have ever seen/heard in my life.

  • @4202EJW Care to show me somthing better?

  • @bronzeonion Show me something better, not a "clag".

  • @4202EJW The purpose of the video was to show people the clag, so what would you have liked it to show? :L

  • Clag?

  • Sees not happy :-(

  • @timmye00 Give me this over it anyday!

  • Deltics are pretty sweet, they looked really good as well, not so utilitarian. In BR Green they looked amazing but nothing on the prototype livery on the one in NRM!

  • hm... in german this is called a Dreckschleuder...

  • Was the loco at the end of the rake just there for added power? Or because of the age of Deltic's systems (brakes, and so on)?

  • @BunrakukenIII The loco at the end was for the return trip

  • Ah the Deltic;Britains most powerful Diesel in it's day :) In fact I don't think it was ever surpassed in strength till the Class 60 came along.

  • @Damocles178 You might just be right, though im not 100% sure, mind you the 56's were quite powerful

  • I don't know about this. It is hard to understand. I guess there are people out there like that. And when it's done, you will never see it again. Oh well. Good video.

  • Reminiscent of the good old steam days...;-)

  • @copewood1939 Thanks

  • Fantastic Lens Work :)

  • @crompton33001 Thanks :)

  • I like the work Bronzeonion, its cool. The zoom lense was clear from the point the Video was taken, and rolled back to were you were standing. Fantastic camra work with this posting, and thanks for the posting very intresting. Cheers and a happy new year.

  • @MsDrummermike Thank you!

  • Good Camara

  • @MsDrummermike Thank you, unfortunately this camera has broken, but a new one with 78x optical zoom arrived yesterday which is 8 more than the one used in this video

  • Its notching up morons.. dont you see the grade...

  • HA! Not too low on emissions, then!

  • @openallstations The irony is that Ealing is in the London Low Emmison Zone

  • Nice zoom :)

  • @SimpleUser11 Thanks

  • That deltic is fucked. Worn pump and injectors more than likely the problem here...

  • @Draxindustries1 ive heard its supposed to do that

  • there was a woman from ealing,

she had a peculiar feeling, she lay on her back,

    opened her crack

and pissed all over the ceiling

  • @nevillewood1 Lmao

  • @nevillewood1 Any photos to prove this?

  • @nevillewood1 There was a man from Ealing.

    Who had a peculiar feeling.

    He got out his cock.

    Shook it a lot

And came all over his socks.

  • Nicely caught video. I love the way it casts a shadow on its own clag from about thirty seconds in.

  • Such a beastly locomotive, but with the same horn I had on my bike when I was 5. Great video though.

  • @mikhailr13 Haha, I must admit the horn is abit pathetic

  • its secretly saying 'screw electricity'

  • @wildriveful Haha, thanks

  • it's an eagly locomotive...

  • @almansillotren Thanks!

  • Nice classic railway to pass-away to vid!

  • @EMMAWONDERLAND1 Thank you

  • Sing my beauty. Sing to daddy.

  • @cjmillsnun Couldnt agree with you more lol

  • A silnik ma ciekawy.

  • @skubihenio What language is this? So I can translate it on Google Translate :)

  • Comment removed

  • @bronzeonion he said a motor has an interesting

  • @beechface1 Ahh I see

  • @bronzeonion What is the locomotive at the end of the train?

  • @skubihenio Class 57

  • @bronzeonion Thanks! Dzięki!

  • @skubihenio Podobno dwa z kutra torpedowego z II WŚ. Masa tłoków i nic turbo ;-) . Ładny składzik,a ta z tyłu to do wahadła czy pewności?

  • @listonoszpat233 Napier robi najdziwniejsze silniki na świecie. A to z tyłu to nie wiem co to za lok.

  • NICE ONE LOOK AT THE VIEWS :O

  • @Stagecoach16281 Thanks, yeah im not sure where they keep coming from though!

  • Sweet!!!!

    Zontaar is Luvin it!!!!! :)

We NEED more Deltic power units!!!!

  • @Zontaar Surprised to not see him at the front window!

  • @bronzeonion

Yes, I am Bloody well wishing I was in the front window of 55022 Clagging the heck out of the town!!! :)

Unfortunately, that would be the old Zontar that would most likely do that, while I am the newer Zontaar. Don't worry, I am still the same Deltic Luvin Alien, it is just that I have moved to Canada to be with Deltor and our 440,000 kids!

And here is hoping that Zontar will still make appearances sometimes.

Me and the kids are getting a mini Deltic in production! :)

  • @Zontaar Haha, good to hear :)

  • @bronzeonion

I will put a vid of the Deltics we are working on as soon as I get one done, silicone mold plastic casting takes some time!

    Catch ya later!

  • I'm no expert on British diesels, but the smoke seems to be coming from one exhaust only. Does this suggest that only one section of the engine needs some TLC?

  • @BoilerRoom4 It means, that the 2nd engine is not switched on yet, it switches on when the train gathers more speed.

  • @BoilerRoom4 Yes, 'Deltics' were twin-engined. The locos always pulled away on one engine with the second kicking in at 27-29mph when full power can be applied. The second engine's rpm would jump from idle at 700rpm to somewhere near full power at 1500rpm. They are also two-stroke engines, which smoke more that four-stroke engines do. Add to this how the loco would probably have been plodding through London at 20mph for ages, 'oiling up' its silencers. These factors result in the smoke you see.

  • why in these films is there always another loco at the back? Is it because the featured loco (class 55) are unreliable, or what?

  • @sydmichel Its so on the return trip, it will be hauled by the rear loco rather than spending more money getting access to turn the front loco around. But yes it can also be there for a back up, railtour companies face fines etc if it is because one of their trains has broken down that normal services are delayed or cancelled.

  • he gave you a too-toot! :)

  • @pcvideogamer Certainly did, thanks :)

  • What's with the funky code-words? Can you say smoke? Carcinogen? Or does come club membership require use of random verbiage like "clag"?

  • @woodscritter To rail enthusiasts, the smoke from a diesel engine is reffered to as 'clag'. Seeing as this is a Youtube channel aimed at rail enthusiasts that 'verbiage' is more suitable than smoke or Carcinogen.

  • @bronzeonion Hellfire reply My Lords. All the Required Gen.

  • that is one pathetic horn

  • @TheRaz555 What sort of horn do you suggest as better?

  • @bronzeonion something that sounded like it wasnt choking the chicken

  • All deltic horns sounded like that shame about the lump on the back that can't be doing the deltic any good dragging that around

  • @Trainbuff2008 Makes it work harder :P

  • thats not clag.... thats RSG saying "behold!!! i am here!!!" lol great vid thnx

  • @lonelywolf1966 Haha quite right

  • @lonelywolf1966 Also, thank you

  • great camera use!!! shame about the crap horn!! thanks for posting!!

  • @2locoman7 Thank you

  • @bronzeonion very nice i will have to look for this while over there doubtfull I will see it in a few weeks when I arrive there but I hope to in July when I do the Great Britain 5

  • am just reaching for me Ventolin

  • @mrspenn1611 Haha

  • it looks a very steep pull up to start with. diesel having to work hard.

  • @titup2 Its not too steep, plus it was already travelling at about 20mph when passing the station before that you can just see at the start

  • @titup2 Its dead flat there !!

  • MY LORDZ. Fantastic video mate. i have liked and added to fav :)

  • @ColasRail47739 Thanks mate

  • 27k views! Nice :D

  • @robertmbishop Thanks Rob, I dont know how!

  • @strange6 Better than poxy Desiro!

  • @bronzeonion Must have been a cold starter that because when fully up to operating temperature, they're not as bad as that

  • @strange6 Yep! And thats why we're here! Dirty clag!

  • @strange6 You definitely are strange

  • @conkeroonee Not half as strange as you if you think this video is interesting

  • at work (i photograph from a helicopter) i spotted 55022 at leeds station. it backed into a platform while chucking out a ton of blue smoke and suddenly, groups of peopel emerged from the opposite side of the canopy to escape it! wonderful :D

  • @DoctorWho50Years Haha, can I ask, what
