hmm, try practicing walking in mouselook and memorize a phone number for a stargate that you know.
Use mouselook all the time and dial in mouselook, then walk through the stargate in mouselook, cut the vid on the teleport screen add the special effect then cut right back to the screen after about 15 seconds, don't leave mouselook it will ruin the moment of the person being in your avatars feet ;)
You can acquire these Stargates for free from established Stargate networks like Alteran in SL. When you set it up it will tie to the other Stargates in the network. Basically, rez and play. =)

Are There Actually Just Random Star Gates All Over SL? Or Do You Have to Make Them? Cause I See Alot of Other Vids with Them in 'Em.
