Finally, YouTube's Insight tool is working again, so I could find out that the surge in views on February 8 and 9 was coming from an external link from airgunbbs (followed by a dot and the c, o, and m)
This video gets on average about 10-20 views per week. On February 8 and 9, 2009, it got 70 views in two days, from the UK alone. I wonder what caused this sudden interest.
Does anyone have an idea?
(YouTube's Insight function has an option to find out how people found a video, but that currently doesn't work).
