I saw this part of season 3 as Sylar going good because he had found a family that was willing to accept him for who he was. When he found out that the family he thought he found was a lie and that they were lying to him so that they could use him, he turned back to his murderous ways. Hence this part of season 3 being a "beautiful lie"
