hey can someone tell me wat the wheel is for? i know a lot about the nba, but for some reason, i never heard of spinning a wheel in the dunk contest.

NBA decided that year to have a dunker perform a dunk previously done by a former slam dunk winner. It did not really work for Steve Francis whom had to perform a dunk (palming 360) since he can't palm the ball.
