I think that this looks, feels and sounds better than the final version of using the Galaxy Map, which, in my opinion is a letdown compared to this version. BioWare should definetely bring back this version the Galaxy Map in Mass Effect 2 and 3!!

i for one totally believe that this game was worth EVERY penny... one of the best games i've ever played if not the best...and it could have been so much better,imagine...i hope ME2 isnt a let down... :( i've spent too much time on my sheppies so bioware can kill them off just like that...even tho i got a contact in bioware who says he'll be there im not resting untill i see it myself...or hear it...enough teasing Bioware!!! :P
I wish they kept the map that way, on PC it has to sit and think about loading when you zoom in and out. So much better with a smooth transition in this video =(

It is extremely open, you could travel around a planet for hours, and who knows. You could stumble upon a cave with a council of some kind of a new alien race in it, or you could find nothing but space dirt.
no you cant! thats a lie. i mean u might find a new species of alien like a monkey or something but its really not that open. all the solar systems only have 1 or 2 planets you can explore and there are boundaries in the planets and they arent that big. plus there isnt much to discover in each planet either... so yeah its not very open. hahaa u will die from boredom if you explore one of those tiny planets for hours.
I ask about the same thing.Why did they change the galaxy map? I mean what we have now is inaccurate.Like the systems that have binary stars, when you see the system overview it still shows just a orange whitish star,while on the planet and in the information box you see and read about one red giant star and a smaller blue twin star. also for the planets,their colorisation is inaccurate as well! Some planets zoomed out are seen as f.ex green,zoomed in and voila the planet are in fact red or tan.
no mako, no minigames and fix the loading of textures, if theyre too big, make smaller ones, all the popping up distracts from the actual game. i often catch myself when in conversations, looking at the clothing or hair of people, guessing when its finally gonna load.
lol 360 has a memory limitation but i have to agree with you, it's too much, these textures must be loaded once and for all and they gotta stop the streaming thing, i guess it suits the pc more

i began on normal and it got too hard cause there are no tutorials at all and i didnt know that i actually had to get all powers into my squad to be effective (didnt even know what the mako was that time), pretty soon i put it back on normal and then after the second story main quest thing i could easily own every enemy on veteran. except for the useless worm things that kill your mako too easily.
buy watching this, i'm beginning to think they rushed the game..this looks a helluvalot better...and what happened with headlight effect on the release?! why get rid of it?

Both are very good games, though entirely different. I have both and love them each for what they are. I'd recommend getting Mass Effect AND CoD... but if you need a solid choice, it pretty much depends on whether or not you need online play, and which genre you like more.
Mass Effect doesn't have any multiplayer, whereas CoD4 is pretty much about multiplayer. Mass Effect is an RPG, while CoD is an FPS. Both'll give you hours of gameplay.

"exploring" isnt even exploring in this game. every planet is the same and all u have to do is follow the map to some point that reveals a stupid rock or metal object u have to play some stupid minigame on. this game was a dissapointment

If you've played an RPG before, it's pretty basic stuff when it comes to moving the story forwards. If you haven't, then, yeah, you're going to find yourself confused in a lot of places. It just takes some getting used to. The game is revolutionary, in my opinion.

Ok I need people's help. I don't know which to get, Assassins Creed or Mass Effect.
I'm not a big fan of RPGs, and I love games like Splinter Cell. I have seen loads of gameplay for each one, and am still split completely down the middle. Any help in making a choice for me would be great.
Well if you like splinter cell then assassins creed is more similar, but the in game tecnoligy lacks a few thousand years,(becouse of the whole crusader age) but it still has more to do with stealth and assassination then mass effect dose. :)
I say Mass Effect only because Assassins Creed can be very repetitive and can get boring very easily...but none-the-less its still a very cool experience...i suggest renting it though

Your both wrong. Mass Effect > Bioshock> Assassins Ceed > Halo 3 > rest. Bioshock was good but its lack of multiplayer puts in down on the list. And Halo 3 and assassins creed are around tied, both are repetitive.

I like this version of the galaxy map exploration ALOT better, well except that you have to use the directional sticks, pad to choose planets which is less clean than to use the blue dot like scanner we have in the retail.

No its not open.. There are borders, and their usualy very small on most planets except "mission" ones..

- get more and more abilities with my character.

yeh right, you keep telling yourself that cause you spend all your christmas money on a crap game, there are many people who think this game is boring, Not liking mass effect doesnt mean people are braindead. im commenting how i dont like that boring game. I completed games far more complicated then that I own steel battalion on xbox and that more complicated then mass effect, I just think the game sucks, people should not glorify that mass effect cause its not the best thing ever

yeh that game is so fucking boring unless you never communicate with people, then its a nice communication simulation i guess I watched movies on here before, convincing me this game was a lot better then assasins creed, that comment is still there, now i got the game, and its soooo boring

If you've played an RPG before, it's pretty basic stuff when it comes to moving the story forwards. If you haven't, then, yeah, you're going to find yourself confused in a lot of places. It just takes some getting used to. The game is revolutionary, in my opinion.

Im trough with oblivion and i played 300+ hours on xbox 360 version because i hate playing games on a pc, and xbox 360 achievement points make you feel like your not wasting time anymore while playing games

Ok I need people's help. I don't know which to get, Assassins Creed or Mass Effect.
I'm not a big fan of RPGs, and I love games like Splinter Cell. I have seen loads of gameplay for each one, and am still split completely down the middle. Any help in making a choice for me would be great.

Well if you like splinter cell then assassins creed is more similar, but the in game tecnoligy lacks a few thousand years,(becouse of the whole crusader age) but it still has more to do with stealth and assassination then mass effect dose. :)

I say Mass Effect only because Assassins Creed can be very repetitive and can get boring very easily...but none-the-less its still a very cool experience...i suggest renting it though

this game IN MY OPINION is better than Halo 3, the graphics are stunning the plot and characters more emmersive and interesting although i have to say that i prefer Halo 3 combat.
So,
Mass Effect > Halo 3 > COD4 > Bioshock
And somewhere in there is Guitat Hero 2 (Not 3)

Your both wrong. Mass Effect > Bioshock> Assassins Ceed > Halo 3 > rest. Bioshock was good but its lack of multiplayer puts in down on the list. And Halo 3 and assassins creed are around tied, both are repetitive.

I like this version of the galaxy map exploration ALOT better, well except that you have to use the directional sticks, pad to choose planets which is less clean than to use the blue dot like scanner we have in the retail.
