You don't need to press Record to record automation. Just clicking the Automation Write button is enough.

You're a genius!!! Great job. You've basically obsoleted the need for an external mixer, since the only other choice I had previous to seeing this, was to mouse-and-keyboard-control the synth...this trick isn't so straight forward and I've tried several things to do precisely this. Of course, I stumbled upon this looking for something else - but I'm happy I did! If I had a tail I'd wag it. Bravo!

i have this software, and whenever i try to set up an instrument track, i get no audio ouput. i know it's reconizing my M-Audio Keystudio 49 but there's still no sound. could you possibly upload a video explaining how to set up an instrument track?

even when i open the loops for session drummer 2, i can't hear anything even though it's lighting up on the display. can you help me figure out whats wrong. even when i click on the piano roll like you did at 0:41 i still hear nothing, and if i try to play it back i still hear nothing.
