  • When are you coming to Kalamazoo, MI?

  • @Rosibel79 I will be in Kalamazoo, MI on March 2nd and leading a thai yoga, sumits yoga and yin yoga retreat on March 4-6, 2011.

go to Sumitsyogakalamzoo and hope to see you there. It will be an amazing weekend, at a great cost!

  • @gabytzvi I was wondering if you will be doing any Thai Massage classes here in Kalamazoo, MI. Thank you!

  • I watched a lot of your videos and I really like it. Too bad you are too far away.

Anyways thanks for the info regards Pichet will consider travelling to Changmai to take up his class. Took classes from Wat Po but they are pretty basic. Thank you again for the clear description in your videos I practised some of your steps on my clients too here in Frankfurt. They really like it!!!!

  • @0302jackie thank you for sharing that!

  • mr. azolay i am a massage stuent that is graduating soon, im interested in getting certified in tai yoga massage and a few of my instuctors fill my style is a natural for it can you give me more info. I live in Tucson.

  • after watching quite a few of your videos last night (yawn), i see you must have trained with Pichet in Thailand. I have taken some classes from Jon Mandeville in Nashville, TN. Although I LOVE the work, I have been deterred from further training because of the Buddist rituals. I am a Christian; it is forbidden of me to talk to the dead. I'm curious if your teaching style is different from Jons. Maybe I will just keep watching your videos. They are great!

    Shalom, shalom.

  • @emiljon1

Pichet is my teacher :) amazing man.

i understand your concern, and my teaching are different than jon.

    no buddhist rituals.

those who want the rituals should go to thailand and be with Pichest :)

thai yoga is a practice that everyone should know, share and enjoy, regardless of faith. it has no boundaries :) only roots, and those roots lie in service, in being able to offer something beautiful to someone else.

that is exactly what Jesus was trying to say :) wouldn't you say?

  • where do you live? I would love to have some work from you; and interested in training under you

  • @emiljon1

    I am honored, thank you!

I currently live in Raleigh, NC for the month of July, will be in Wilmington NC for the months of Sept/Oct (2010), and will be back to the west side sometime in Nov.

I do teach around the country..currently teaching in Cincinnati, OH for the weekend.

would love to come to your town and teach if you want to help me organize an event.

    bets wishes

  • Great videos. It would help if the client wore a white shirt instead of black---this will make it easier to see your hands.

  • Finally, a nice, long video discussing and demonstrating pure technique, not any of that chi or mystical energy shite.

    Thanks for sharing this!

  • @icannotfly.......Your You Tube tag seems to sum you up quite well....your ignorance is astounding and one can only imagine how lame your massage would be....

  • @hingamy bad day or something?

  • exhaaaaaaaaaaaaaalleeee inhaaaaaaallleeeeee

  • this makes me so sleepy, i think thats a good thing.

  • thats why Im watching it

  • in thai messages do you have to usually use a "vibration" motion with your hands to get the full effect on the back? Or is the pressure enough?

  • in thai massage it is all about sensitive pressure. vibration can be added to relax the client, but traditional thai is done with pressure that changes between light, medium and strong.

    great question.

  • Thank you so much! Thanks for answering my question so quickly! Your videos are so educational!

  • i had a question as well. How long have you been doing thai massages for?

  • i have been giving thai massage sessions for almost 4 years, have been teaching yoga and training courses for almost 14 years.

i have been teaching thai massage for a little over a year now, with 35 students who have passed through my courses :)

  • All of your massage videos are amazing! I was wondering though if there is any significance with the number 3. You seem to do different massage techniques in sets of three.

  • from what i seen on most massge videos (his and others) they do it in 3 i guess it just feels right.

  • the aspect of number 3 in thai corresponds to teh three aspects of spirtuality - mother, father, god. mother and father give us this body, god gives us the inspiration.

specifically, it is in three because body parts get "dissected" in 3, beginning, middle and end. this allows practitioner to stimulate the tendon on either end, as well as the muscle belly in the middle.

lastly, pressure is done by going from light, to medium, to deep.

  • Very nice moves....

  • Dumb question, but: What do you think, when you are giving a massage? Like...thinking what you will cook for dinner or question yourself if you client enjoys it?

  • no dumb at all :)

while you might catch your mind wandering, come back to your breath, breath deep, feel your client and you will be right there in the moment.

but yeah, those thoughts come and go to every yogi and every thai yoga practitioner..in fact to evry artist in general.

it's not about stopping the thoughts but rather when thoughts arise...pay no attention to the thought and stay with what you are doing :)
