Oh yeah, and one more thing, while this is a good version, the Rolling Stones version in my opinion has more feeling and soul to it. To me, when she sang it (And has a beautiful voice), she sounded a bit monotonous. /rant
What the fuck is it with you people? Yes, this version is nice and all, but in my opinion the Rolling Stones did it better. And if anything, their cover was a tribute to this one. I know it's your opinion and all, but lighten up people. Oh yeah, and by the way, Mick Jagger didn't sing the original Rolling Stones version, someone else did. So if you idiots want to say something bad about a cover, I'd suggest actually LISTENING to it first. Still though, this one is nice. Liked.
Back in the 60's drugs were the rage, even thro they are still here, look who paid the price.Hendricks,Joplin, morrison, and many other great preformers. Sempi Fi. Roger
I once in Hereford meet a woman who had been Brian Jones's consultant at some health center, and she told me that Marianne was his very terrible grieve!!!
Just for clarification, I'm disagreeing w/ brogsbunny here. I read her autobiography and she was a 'player' from the start! = Cool enough. But she's also attributed to have said something like she slept with three of the Stones and figured her "best bet was with the lead singer." = Too cool! Very intelligent, well-spoken woman now and a total babe in the '60's! I dig her music as well!

@JesuitFarmer Mick Jagger didn't "cover" it. He and Keith Richards wrote it and the song was given to Marianne Faithful for a B-side single. The Stones later recorded their own version in 1965, although they had written it a year earlier.
What made her go from a very beautifull women , to some one who looks & sounds terrible ! , If it was Drugs ?? let it be a lesson to you all whos into taking shit from a needle !
@ruthie10101010 She did inject-she mentions it in her autobiography and an interview she said that she went from doing lsd at 19 to havina a needle in her arm by 23 and that was fast. i believe she mayhave said it on close up which is on youtube too.
"She then: "left her husband to live with Mick Jagger" and told the New Musical Express: "My first move was to get a Rolling Stone as a boyfriend. I slept with three and decided the lead singer was the best bet."
Yep other than covering some Stones songs and getting caught in a hotel orgy. The only other think she got for loving Mick was being traded like a piece of meat to other band members. Then when she finally got too strung out on drugs Mick threw her out on the street, homeless.
Now shes old and has no children, but she got to fuck a whole lot for a few years.
@brogsbunny Really though can one ruin another. There is allways something in you that allows another to do what they do. Personal responsibilty must prevail.
if she had not met mick jagger, would we even know who she is today?

She was the most beautiful woman in the world in the 60s and I, along with legions of others, had a terrific crush on her.
Then came the drugs and the assholes called the Rolling Stones.
Too bad.

"ruined?"...Mick showed respect and appreciation for the song by covering it, why look at it any other way?

Wikipedia has the following quote:
"She then: "left her husband to live with Mick Jagger" and told the New Musical Express: "My first move was to get a Rolling Stone as a boyfriend. I slept with three and decided the lead singer was the best bet."
