  • can we make without rum

  • @TheHammasali This is covered in the video :)

  • thank you for considering people who do not drink when making this video. i appreciate it. these look delicious! must try soon :)

  • what can i replace rum, dessicated coconut with? :) im not really a fan of peppermint or coffee essence, coconut.

  • I love rum! I will make these now I know how, thanks.

  • those balls look yummy

  • Thanx chef!

  • can i make it into cakepops? and can i change the rum to Baileys?

  • OOOOooo , i like your balls , so tasty XD

  • Thanks for recipe will give a go.

  • I tried this recipe and it was a hit for Christmas! :)

  • what did u add again? discolored coconut? sorry I don't think we have that in our country :D

  • @radtwelve Ingredients in the video description ;)

  • @OnePotChefShow oh my apology. can't wait to try this recipe out :D

    Cheers from Indonesia!

  • @radtwelve i think you mean desiccated coconut, it is shredded coconut, hope this helps!

  • @radtwelve dry coconut xD

  • I made them and they were so easy and sooo yummy!! Thanks for the recipe!!

  • Another tip,you can also use peppermint oil or extract to replace te rum

  • i wish i was related to you...

  • o my god this looks so goood :o i love chocolate so much! :) but i live in the US so the measuring is different, so i dont know how much of the ingredients to use :/

  • DAVID I MADE THE RUM BALLS AND THEY WERE YUMMY AND ALL MY GUESTS LOVED THEM THANK YOU

  • Comment removed

  • I just made these, I almost over did the chocolate melting but saved it just in time, I used rum essence but next time will use dark rum as you can barely taste it but Oh My are they delish! The recipe is far too big for my needs, half would have been ample I had way too much mixture but they are fantastic Thank you so much for such an easy to follow video on how to make this amazing tasting treat Christmas is sorted!

  • Thankyou!! Haha, I definitely don't plan to get drunk off them =P I will be making them for a christmas party soon =]

  • Hi David! I have a question, will the alcohol burn out of the rum if you mix it in with the heated chocolate? Or will it be ok? Thanks for the recipe =]

  • @MarryMeLancel No, the alcohol won't burn out. But there is such a small amount of alcohol in this recipe it shouldn't be an issue. You'd have to eat hundreds of them to even get close to drunk! If you like, you can use Rum Flavoring instead ;)

  • @MarryMeLancel I don t think so,it will only evaporete and leave the rum taste, extract behind.

  • david, why is it that sometimes we melt chocolate by double boiling and sometimes by popping into the oven? can't we just melt it in the oven?? =\

  • @alwy963 Basically, melting chocolate with a double boiler allows the chocolate to remain glossy when it re-sets (if you are using it to coat something) However, if the melted chocolate is going to be mixed with other ingredients (like this recipe) that isn't necessary ;)

  • is malibu or captain morgan better for rum balls

  • @TheJezze09 You can use any rum you prefer, but a dark rum is best ;)

  • could you also put nuts in these?

  • @rapgal220 Absolutely :)

  • "Stiff, sticky mixture" :O

  • yummy

  • my mom is alergic to coconut, so any substitutes for desiccated coconut? :) thanks

  • @BloodyBonned You can replace the coconut with more cookie crumbs ;)

  • This looks absolutely orgasmic !!!

  • These look absolutely orgasmic !!..Surely trying 'em !

  • I'd like to taste your rum balls :)

  • Chocolate rumbles?

  • im really glad i found this channel!

  • Wow !! Can i make them without coconut powder ?

  • First off wanted to tell you how much I love your recipes! Now that I've gotten that out of the way not sure if anyone has asked, but I was wondering what type of rum would you reccomend? I have spiced rum at home now, would that work?

  • @jezika87 A spiced rum would be fine. Any dark rum would be suitable for this recipe ;)

  • after you take them out of the fridge will they melt???

  • @WATSnotTOlike Only if it's a really hot day. If you keep them in a cool dark place (like a kitchen cupboard) they should be fine ;)

  • OMFRIGGINGOODNESS!!! YOU ARE BACK AND I DIDN"T EVEN KNOW TILL NOW!!! I MISSED YOU, DAVID!!!

  • @heelrunner LOL you can blame YouTube and their broken Subscription boxes. My videos haven't been popping up for everyone :)

  • Made this today, i'm only 17 so i skipped the rum and added vanilla essence. They were delicious!!

  • Haha everytime i watch your videos i always skip the last part when you taste them cuz it makes me hungry LOL :p

  • I followed your link under the description to Facebook. I didn't become a fan. I didn't even got fan blades. ;(

  • Something went hay wire for me I tried using dark choclate and it did not turn out well

  • My mum doesn't like rum (she'd make a terrible pirate), so do you think replacing with orange flavouring would be okay? :)

  • @naah mmm that sounds awsome to me. like jaffas :)

  • @naah You just made my day with that pirate comment :'D

  • Were you giving those rum balls to muslims?

  • I love rum balls. More so with Bundy Rum!

  • @TheNakedWombat lol I live in bundaberg.

  • will they still taste nice if u skip the rum?

  • @MixedBerries275 You can replace the rum with something else. Try peppermint essence or coffee essence ;)

  • they look delicious! what if u dont want to use coconut?

  • I made these today, bought artificial brandy flavouring by accident but they turned out pretty awesome thanks dave :)

  • looks sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo good!!!!!

  • OMG. Make truffles and add bundaburg in them, they taste so nice!

  • ♫ Suck on my chocolate rum balls. ♪

♪ Just stick em in your mouth and suck em ♫

  • i like your voice :3

  • If you use real rum, will the alcohol vaporize in the mixing process, or will the finished rum balls contain alcohol?

  • @Ffojt Because the rum balls are not cooked in any way, the alcohol will not "cook off" - so there will still be alcohol in the final product. But it should be noted that 1 tablespoon of Rum for every 30-50 balls is almost nothing, so I wouldn't worry about anyone getting drunk!

  • oooh they look awesome, I love Rum balls and always happy to see them at parties etc, i have never made them, but actually they look so simple to do, and I am going to give them a try, thanks So much:)))

  • Can you make a recipe for bananna cream pie pleassse pretty pretty pleassse : )

  • This looks delicious! can't wait for christmas! :)

  • you have nice balls they taste delicious mum made some for desert last night after me watching your video cant wait to have your balls again!!!

  • i did this once, but used mint essence instead of the rum. They were goooood.

  • Delish! We make rum balls every Christmas but I never thought of using sprinkles. I'm going to try it now :)

  • We don't have 'dessicated' coconut here in the US. We have coconut flakes, which are big, moist, and filled with chemicals...probably not the same. Also, it would be very helpful if you can provide the name brand of the biscuits you use. Even though we don't have all the same brands in the US, we do have some import shops where we can buy UK/Aussie things. Thanks!

  • @bargainmom there bloody good

  • thank u for the recipe! rumballs are my childhood fave <3

  • Rum Balls always say Christmas to me. Yum.

  • @thizizliz Me too :)

  • YES! these look delicious! i'm going to make them tomorrow.

  • Nom,nom,nahhhm!! =D

  • Hello there...any other option to change rum?Sorry I can't catch up your explanation in your video. Thanks....

  • @Noi610 Use any liqueur you prefer, or use a food flavoring like peppermint essence / orange essence / vanilla essence etc ;)

  • I'm carving these!!

  • Yum. *-*

  • Nom!

  • do i have to use rum.

  • @MsIzzy805 No, you can use something else if you like. Peppermint Essence is good ;)

  • "Brigadeiro" Brazilian recipe

  • desiccated is a BIG word for Americans... and grams??? I can't even go there...

  • @alicethetroll There is a link to a measurement conversion chart on my channel page ;)

  • Oh drool drool nice chocolate balls. : )

  • what can you use to substitute for the coconut?

  • @ybn7831 Replace the coconut with more cookie crumbs ;)

  • That's great man. I'm gonna do mines right away, thank you ;)

  • In the fail (the video on your vlog channel) what do you think was the reason that they looked like "sloppy turds"? hah

  • @MrButterworth24 To be honest, I used a bad recipe. I'm certain it had a misprint or a missing ingredient. Realistically it was just frozen chocolate ganache, and I couldn't figure out how that could work - which it didn't!

  • Hmm...didn't you do this recipe, but it ended up as a blooper because they looked like turds? LOL! Or was that a different one?

  • @HellsingWalter87 Yes, this is the second version. PS: there is an annotation to the blooper vid hidden in the corner of this video ;)

  • Thumbs up for "Hidden Mickey!" Lol!

  • mmmmm... yum yum yum yum yum!!

gonna try this sometime soon ;)

  • Buy ingredients. Throw out ingredients. Drink rum.

  • still waiting for the day you use two pots :)

  • They're kind of like the brasilian "brigadeiros" =P

  • its my girlfriends birthday in 2 weeks time i think i might make this for her could i add a different acohol like wine or something or could u give me a list of different acohols i can put in it ?

  • @katiebaby1 Don't use wine. I recommend using a liqueur like Kahlua, Bailey's or Tia Maria. You could also use something non-alcoholic like Vanilla Essence, Orange Essence or Peppermint Essence ;)
