No, Ultra Magnus was the Autobot's Second in Command, they had similar vehical modes I used to have the toy when I was a kid and if I remember right, the truck cab was the same design as Optimus Prime and turned into a seperate, white Optimus Prime, which you then had to combine with the trailer to create Ultra Magnus even though the white prime robot never appeared in the show

True pretty much every incarnation of Galvatron is that he's Megatron reformated by Unicron, though personally that's a backstory I wish they'd change, making them seperate character i.e. Galvatron being Megatron's apprentice or an ambitious General in the Decepticon Army

Even though I didn't have the Galvatron toy I still remember Ultra Magnus was my second most hated Transformers toy because of having to combine him with his trailer to create the full robot (my most hated was Six Shot, I had that toy for almost 16 years before I finally threw it away and I never once fully transformed him into anything beyond his car and gun modes)

I used to have the toy version of Galvatron. It was really crappy, and looked nothing like the animated version...

from what i understand is the voice he used was because at that point galvatron was insane and they wanted a vioce to immitate that. but i do agree his voice was lame and it should have been better

they made everyone think that Ultra Magnus is a born leader when they made him a total dick in the movie. they shud make a decent commercial like that for Rodimus Prime. but you can blame now that is over 20 years passed.

Optimus introduces magnus and Megatron introduces Galvatron. What a way for the old generation to pass the torch to the new generation. The original movie had the makings for a great transition from the old into the new. It's a pity, the new generation screwed things up so badly that it bombed.

I wonder if there's a TV report done back then on how kids were horrified at Prime's Death. Would be kind of funny. I'm kind of glad I didn't see it then and saw Rocky IV instead (Didn't see TF:TM till as a late teen) because It would have really bummed me out as a kid. And seeing Rocky IV in theaters was pretty memorable.
