Robert Englund, Christopher Walken and Ron Perlman have always creeped me out. I can look at those guys do an interview, and still feel a little scared. And if you go to Ron Perlman's Wikipedia page, and go down to the pic that's next to his filmograpghy, look at that pic and tell me you wouldn't feel scared if you saw him approaching you on a not to well lit street. Ive always wanted to work with Wes, hes amazing! I still love the story of how Wes came up with Freddy Kruger, the scary hobo who lived in his neighborhood ally.
It's kind of sad we don't see much of Wes Craven anymore. After New Nightmare and the Scream Trilogy he hasn't been able to do anything REALLY noteworthy until Scream 4. I know he produced Dracula 2000 and Cursed, but there was something I always disliked about those movies (or most horrors from Dimension and Lionsgate for that matter). He's gave his characters more brains and depth than most horror directors today. It's sad that good directors aren't as big in later decades as they were before.
@balrog13571 i personally believe that their time (directors) come & goes. They've had their moments and has obviously withstood the test of time and have acheived cult status with thier artwork,we could only hope new poineers will break out in this day & age. but these old directors always held this old school approach of making films that people will never be able to replicate.as time goes on, today's audience would not appreciate it to it's full extent

Whoa! Calm down, fanboy. I love his "Nightmare" movies, but that doesn't change the fact that he sucks big time. This guy is famous for having awesome ideas and then not knowing how to pull them off. He sucks at execution because he can't help it, his mind is full of cliches. Even his NOES films could be so much better. A genius, he's not. And yeah, he's way overrated. Look, it's not the content, I love the content, whether it's intense cinema or just gore. Now, read all my comments first, if you care to talk to me, and you'll see that I said it's all about how he executes his own ideas. He's very well-known to have great, inspiring, reinventive ideas and mediocre execution at best. Even the Elm Street films he made have this sort of "trademark," and it's not on purpose. He can't help it because his imagination is poor and he has to recur to many cliches.
