@itsemily1995 I remember watching an interview years ago with Joey Ramone. He said that during the time they were playing the clubs, rock and roll was getting ridiculous (20-minute drum solos, concerts turning into circus acts, etc.). They wanted to make rock and roll what it used to be back in the mid-50s-mid60s...short, sweet and to the point. Like all great artists, The Ramones didn't invent anything "new;" they just packaged things differently.
