  • you should do one on the hobbit

  • @Hessey96 I did. :P

  • @Mooseboy018 oh ok sorry I didn't notice it my bad

  • I like this movie, and would like to see Ralph Bakshi make the second half.

  • Haha.Eveything's quite okay but Gollum looks like a frog!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i was going to give a like to this vid... until 1:33 came. And THAT MOTHERFUCKING OVERUSED DICK SAUCE OF A SONG.

  • @vorteksio2 That seems a little unfair considering I just used a pre-existing trailer for the audio. Don't blame me for that overused song. lol

  • Oh Sam, you truly are the shitiest fuckface i've ever seen

  • WTF IS THIS?!

  • Clearly the designer didn't want teenage girls to get Leggy-stracted here...

  • everybody looks weird in this but gandalf looks like a druggy and someone who had drawn this really really doesn't like sam lol

  • aragorn is an indian!

  • Why does Aragorn look like a native american?

And Sam looks like a tired troll

    Lol XD

  • @rkrokberg Because Ralph Bakshi is a genius.

  • @rkrokberg Aragorn redcorn dances with hobbits

  • @rkrokberg Wow, clever, no one has ever said anything like that before. God you're clever! Why do you sound like a fucking tool and a mindless fanboy? So many questions, so little time...

  • I wish that Bakshi could have finished the trilogy. I saw this in theaters in the late 70's as a kid and have been a fan of Tolkien's work ever since. Peter Jackson stole a few ideas from Bakshi for sure, and improved upon them. I respect them both.

  • @aaaiiieee i saw bakshi on swedisth televison in 95 and was like you a fan of tolkien right then and there:D and i was only 10^^ and i agree, sad that he never finished it, i like the gothic feel it has to it :D

  • at 0:25 legolas look like the adoring fan from oblivion! and aragorn look like an imperial!!.

  • Comment removed

  • @mmmillerlight98 That's kind of the point.

  • Can someone tell me where I can purchase / watch this? I keep hearing back and forth that it is a real movie to it isn't...

  • @redii2klutch

It was re-released on DVD and Blu Ray not that long ago. You can probably find it pretty much anywhere. It's just called "The Lord of the Rings" and it was directed by Ralph Bakshi.

  • this is real, i have it but it not worth your time

  • @redii2klutch You should be able to find it on youtube, just punch it in the search bar LOTR animated movie.

  • Honestly, the only character that looks better animatedly is Eowen. She looked okay in Peter Jackson's version

  • @lydiaphan12 I disagree. I think she looks like a freaky wicked queen from an old Disney movie in Bakshi's version. O.o

  • @lydiaphan12 I disagree Eoywyn was frickin HOT in Jackson's version

Bakshi did however do better job with Gollum. The loincloth could've been a different color, but otherwise Gollum actually looks horrifying. Not uncanny like Jackson or cute like the OTHER crappier cartoons. Also Peter Woodthorpe was awesome, not Serkis good but alright.

  • the cartoonized live-action looks like the original Tron

  • @absurdlyawesome

It's called rotoscoping, Bakshi used it in American Pop and Fire and Ice. What do you think of the similar rotoscoping techniques in Avatar and Beowulf?

  • @Johnlindsey289 Some of it was rotoscoping, and the rest was just live action footage with high contrast and some color put over them...

  • wow very cool!

  • stop anywhere between 0:26 an 0:27.

    priceless!!!

  • Does this Aragorn remind anyone else of the bad guy from No Country For Old Men?

  • Funny! i like how you combined Bakshi's movies into the actual movie and Rankin-Bass for Return of the King. Bakshi's version wasn't too bad but Jackson was more truthful to Tolkein,

  • WTF is wrong with Sam's face????

  • @LillithxLuna He kind of looks like Hoggle from Jim Henson's Labyrinth. lol

  • thumbs up for the description.

  • Why is Aragorn not wearing any pants and why the hell does Legolas look like an Asian-eyed Justin Bieber in tights? O_O

  • @foojuice101 lol. Best description ever. :P

  • @Mooseboy018 Why does someone always have to bring up Justin Bieber?

  • @Mooseboy018

    cuz this movie simply SUCKED!!!

  • @foojuice101

Elves are typically given slanted eyes. When given to female elves, it serves to meet nerds' mad fantasies, but when given to male elves, it enrages them.

    Go figure.

  • @foojuice101 released in 1978. Justin Bieber looks like Legolas.

  • WoW! this realy show how good voices these characters have!these terrible pictures canno't match these amazing voices !!! :)

  • sam looks like a flippin moron

  • @Fairport4Life He acts like one too. It's TERRIBLE! Ralph Bakshi took the hero of the story and turned him into a bumbling idiot.

  • @Mooseboy018 and aragorn looks like a white guy in an old cowboy movie trying to imitate a native american

  • @Mooseboy018 atleast Tolkien didnt live long enought to see it.

  • @wicNKWD37 Yeah. A couple Lord of the Rings movies were almost made in his lifetime, but he bashed the scripts so much that they didn't make them. lol

  • ok i dont know if any of you ppl know this or if im understanding you wrong but this was an actual animated movie of the lord of the rings and it was a very good 1 as a matter of fact. once again i dont know if this guy is taking credit for this or not but ya this was a movie.

  • @h43442 I don't think anyone is stupid enough to think I'm taking credit for Ralph Bakshi's movie...

  • Nact don en fiere elfish

  • Aragorn is mexican and Sam's the ugliest motherfucker alive, lol

  • @SirRafacioni no, he looks like an indian.

  • santa saruman xD

aragorn looks so old :/ and so mexican xDD

  • Aragorn is mexican and Sam's the ugliest motherfucker alive, lol.

  • @djerwulfe Yeah I did. And it was all a big plan to be disrespectful to the voice actors in the original movie. You caught me.

  • @djerwulfe You're looking waaaaay too much into this...I just did it for fun. Jeez...

  • What the? I forgot that they had the Balrog's sword shatter Glamdring in this, damn their artistic license!

  • Great job.

  • Excellent!

  • Wow! This must've taken a while to put together. Bravo!

  • Esta es "El Señor de los Anillos" no es las 2 torres,

  • I know. I just split up the Two Towers part.

  • @00011mathius "El Señor de los Anillos" es ambos "El Fellowship del Anillo" y "Las Dos Torres." Este trabajo es excellente. La parte de "Las Dos Torres" fue separado del conjunto.

  • the German dub sucks -.- but the english one is really cool O_O

  • nice montage!

  • cool

  • Nicely done. It had me fooled for a minute until I recognized the music from the film. I thought it might have been the trailer for the rest of Bakshi's animation that was never completed.

  • Yeah! Very clever! I love this kind of work! Of course I will watch your other trailers as well. And you are most welcome to watch my similar work - to use Bakshi's soundtrack and Jackson's visuals. Look for it with "Bakshi/Jackson fan's cut". Tank you again for your work.

  • This was SO good. In the animated Lord of the Rings, the Two Towers was the part where it completely fell apart for me and became confusing even after I read the books! So you doing it like this made it look cool again.

  • VERY well done!

  • lol

  • sam is fugly!!!!!!!!

  • Sam looks Fugly :/

  • EXTREMELY fugly

  • What are the names of these movies?

From the beginning to the end(ll movies).

I can't seem to find them anywhere.

  • There are two animated Lord of the Rings movies (not including The Hobbit).

The first one is just called "The Lord of the Rings" (it has the fellowship of the ring and half the two towers in it), and the second movie is just called "The Return of the King" (and it has most of the return of the king stuff in it).

The two movies were made by different companies, so that's why they look different and don't fit togethere at all.

  • Ok, thanks alot :)

But what is The Hobbit about? Is it about the one ring or is it just about The Shire and all of the hobbits?

  • It's about Bilbo Baggins going on an adventure with Gandalf and some dwarves to regain the dwarves' home and their treasure from a dragon. And Bilbo finds the one ring along the way.

  • He's fugly in the face and in personality, Bakshi really messed him up.

  • i love the way the orcs start trying to knock down a solid brick wall when there is a wooden door only a few metres away from it

  • I think the two towers gollum look better then the return of the king gollum

  • Interesting, Aragorn in this version is clearly a Native American. Why he was drawn so? Bakshi wanted to say something, like, the ACTUAL kings of the America were the native americans?

  • too bad Middle-earth isn't America, or that idea might work :P

  • I gived you a 4 cause its shure was hard to make this trailer.

  • omg the animated versions of lotr completely sucked... no offense if you like it tho....

  • lol, no I hated it too. The only thing it's good for is a good laugh once and a while. : P

  • good job

  • Again, I applaud you (five stars), must have taken you AGES making those. But I still hate the way they did the animated version of Aragorn back then. I am fine with the Elf, though. At least they made him laugh from time to time, PJ's take on Legolas' character only showed the serious elven warrior. I also hated the animated Elrond, btw.

  • thx. and yeah, a lot of the stuff in the animated version was really messed up.

  • Good job.

  • For the past 4 days I have been Re-Editing the animated movie and I have put in music from the Jackson trilogy also I have separated the movies like rather than the lord of the rings animated being the fellowship and the two towers it is only the Fellowship of the ring. Then I will edited the Two towers using the last 40 minutes of the animated movie and then the animated return of the king it will be like the animated trilogy then the Jackson trilogy.

  • Sounds great. I did something similar but only with the Return of the King. I didn't add any music. I just took about most of the singing because I drives me crazy. And I took about some of the parts that went against the book and common sense. And I fixed the "time line" by cutting back and forth between the storylines in the correct chronilogical order. Are you going to put yours on youtube? I don't know if I ever will because I made my version really just for fun late one night.

  • I am not sure if I will put it on youtube I have been thinking about it but not sure. With the animated trilogy I am going to do the same thing you did to the return of the king the animated one but i will put the music in and I am going to TRY i will attempt to make it look like in the animated return of the king the armies battle at the black gate.

  • oh, could u do an animated trailer for the 1998 version of animal farm from the one in the 50's

  • I haven't even seen either of those movies, but I have read the book. If I was more familiar with those movies I probably would. But I have other things I'd rather do. Sorry.

  • lmao at 0:27 look at legolas

  • Haha great job...Too bad Aragorn looks Native American and Elrond looks like Hank from King of the Hill haha...

  • lol, yeah. And Samwise looks like he has down syndrome.
