It looks as if there is too much weight on the stern. I had a ski-boat like that,, it had a Mercury straight 6 100HP on the back. Some boat builders built boats with extended hulls. Sponsons were added a couple of feet either side of the outboard to reduce the stern squatting, maybe you could do the same. I thought those Steyrs were supposed to be light!
hi yes i do have a 162 i will post a video when i have taken her out this year. my boat has been raced before.And i would like to find out more about her. (72mph)
@marshan162 Good luck but turning all that horsepower through two right angles was always a bit iffy and high maintenance. For racing there are now some amazing shaft drives. ZF do a superb surface drive with what looks like a CVJ in it. It can be trimmed up and down and steered as well! Cost is probably telephone numbers. Lancing Marine do a simpler version.
My dad wanted to put one of these on his 24ft or so Seasport.I think it put out about 220HP.He said when the dealership took him for a ride Idling at trolling speed at 600 rpm it cosummed 3/10s of a gallon per hour.HOW can this possibly be true?! A 6.5HP Lister Petter consummes 4/10s id read.
What marionics system is that?

Very nice! What is the displacement and horsepower? Are you using 1.5 ratio Bravo One? Do you notice the extra weight?
I am getting ready to build up my GM 6.5 liter turbodiesel and install it in my 21 foot boat with 1.5 Alpha One.

@kimmer6
The engine displaces 2.13 litres and produces 168 horsepower @4000 rpm.

Hvor mangen knop klarer du med dieslen? og båten har kanskje blitt litt billigere å kjøre? hehe
jonnis240 2 years ago
