78 is when THE DESTROYERS ran Coney. Finally Cleon got sick of Virgils crap and formed The WARRIORS with Vermin. They eventually beat the Destroyers down. Ya know,THE WARRIORS movie is based on fact. Just look at the video game! It's ALL true.

Thunderbolt was not in Steeplechase. It was about a block to the East on the Bowery. Steeplechase had own smaller coaster.

Steeplechase coaster ran over old clam chowder cafe inside Steeplechase Pool area. All the wooden tables used to shake every 5 minutes.
