  • HOT DAMN DOWN AND FUNKY SHIT YES

  • "pure" blues...!!!

  • For Christ sake, stop sniveling over who's the best, ENJOY, the artist you worship would totally dismiss the nit picking. I guarantee they hold each other in high regard for their individual contributions to the music we love.

  • I have not got this recording... Who does? Anyone?

  • thanks for posting this 2 of my biggest influences in 1 tune wow !! love it ...when I play live and people are digging it I tell em I learn from the best !!

  • What?? 3 dislikes? they probably hit it by mistake ;)

  • Manje srce boli uz...whisky..Majesty....i bolje se razume uz dve casise.....chers!!

  • It would really seem that S.R.Vaughan 'went down to the Crossroads'(as did J.hendrix!)... we cannot make comparisons: a musical prodigy is unique! I'd be intersted to know : Stevie's actual Date of Birth,an exactly what date he 'left his body'(AND what age?!)...And if someone can give me the d.o.b. of Hendrix...and the date/age he died?!!!!!I work w. numerology, and the Mayan 'Tzolkien' Calendar -would be damned interesting to have this info....Got the info? Creashonrebel@yahoo.com

  • Bluesmen don't debate over who's better, they just jam. This is cool...

  • @HvyWeight Couldn't have said it better myself.

  • somebody out there HAS to HAVE THIS. comeeeeeeeeeee on!!! im begging over here!

  • i wanna see this live!! dam it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I found this concert online and successfully downloaded it. Google Dino bootlegs and click on the first result. From there search for Stevie ray Vaughan w/ Robert Cray Redux club dallas tx or just scroll through the SRV bootlegs until you find it. Also check out SRV "rough edges" it's an amazing bootleg!

  • very nice

  • Hey where can I find this on cd.

  • OMFG!

  • Sad so sad Ray is gone, but we DO have Robert!!!

    Amen!

  • god I wish I had seen this one..... sooo good

  • Cray has the great fingerstyle strat attack. Like the way Stevie comes in on the out-chorus with his own guitar voice.

  • god, this makes me HOT!!!!...probably my favorite cray tune (and i do love him) with the genius of SRV...it's almost too much

  • Damn this is good.

  • incredible!!!!i"miss you, Ray...

  • There was so much talent in this concert that night ,if I was there, I think my head would have exploded!

  • wow,2 greats together!! thanks soso much for posting!!!!

  • awesome !! love them both but Stevie Ray is my fav. Yes agree with many here please post more this is beautiful thanks !

  • Is that really Robert Cray singing? I had no idea he had that kind of growl!

  • Man, the ying and yang of soul. The two best together. Nothin' better than that.

  • wow-2 greats together! thanks sosososo much for posting!!!!

  • Thanks for posting!!!

  • Great upload!!

  • Love it man,,,would love more raw video of them SRV or RC,,,if you know where to get it ftp or torrent please letme know.

    thanks johnareed@charter.net

  • Terrific combination with the best bluesmen. R.I.P. SRV.

  • Thank you for posting this!

  • WHERE CAN I BUY THIS RECORDING?ANYONE KNOW?

  • "people, don't you hear me howlin" haha, now that line sounds familiar. Very nice upload my man. BLUES FTW!!!

  • any way i could get some mp3's of this!?

  • This is priceless!! just awesome, I love SRV and Cray. Thanks for posting!

  • outstanding thanks so much

  • Fantastic video, thanks for uploading this bluessmith

  • the blues keeps me alive thanks for posting this!

  • Young Bob is the Man.

  • olha, eu não sou gay, mas eu amo esses caras... quando eu crescer, quero ser como eles! E que Deus tenha piedade dessa geração de ladys gagas....

  • without the blues there ain't no future.

  • Two of my favourite blues guitarists. Thanx for uploading this.

  • I saw SRV twice; must have been the coke days because he was just okay. Sort of phoned it in. But every live video shows how amazing he could be. I saw Robert Cray in Eugene at Taylor's (campus bar where you had to walk between the bass player and the drummer to get to the bathroom) and the WOW Hall when he was "the guitar player" with Curtis Salgado. Curtis was a fabulous singer, but RC really shined. Was a great band. Lloyd Jones played with Curtis later... some very special players.

  • @humbuzztube what do you mean just okay?

  • I have to agree with oldportboy that SRV and RC are two of the most emotional bluesmen ever. This song alone proves it. I would love to have the complete recording of this show. The funny thing is that I was fortunate to see SRV several times but have never caught up with RC to see him live. One of my favorites on YouTube.

  • People talk about SRV pouring his soul into his guitar, which he undoubtedly does, I am a huge fan of his. I never had the fortune to see him live, but don't forget the man he's with on this song. Robert Cray, is without doubt THE most emotional guitar player I've ever seen, and I have seen LOADS.

  • Bulldog hit the nail on the head with that comment...

Blues is all about emotion. It's where theory is throw out the window and how you feel is brought to the table through your playing... Gotta love it!

  • To me, and I hope I am not alone, it is not at all about who is best. It is all about the soul and life that all these amazing musical masters pour into their music. SRV could turn a note into living being and then give it a family, Cray is SOUL soul SOUL, BB off the wall rythym insane. And muddy a better showman on stage is hard to find. All move people at the deepest level with beautiful music... So Live it and Love it. Play on forever. Thoughts of a simple drummer, and avid MUSIC lover.

  • Perfect way of putting it. What draws me to players like SRV, Cray, Mayer, Clapton, etc... is that they all put so much of themselves into everything they play, and in the end, arguing over who is best is a useless waste of time that could be used LISTENING instead.

  • @ebrithilWildman ...Well said, and thats what its about bro. Stop by and check out the two blues clips I have from my latest release 'Blutopia" ....let me know what ya think.

  • Ahhh, I remember the Redux Club in Dallas Tx. Mostly saw jazz there in my day, still in college then. Good tune here bluessmith! I've seen Robert Cray over 20 times over the last 20 years. Sadly did not see SRV, my huge loss....

  • two cool cats that sound even better when teamed up. RIP SRV!

  • Stevie Ray was the best blues guitar player ever. BB and Muddy

Waters and others did not play the same guitar that Stevie played. No comparison.

  • I agree

  • @chiguyfalco TOTALLY AGREE, AS JIMI HENDRIX CAME FROM ANOTHER PLANET WITH HIS GUITAR PLAYING AND INNOVATIONS, SO DID STEVIE, HE JUST CAME ON A LATER SPACESHIP ABOUT 10 OR SO YEARS LATER, TOO BAD THEY NEVER PLAYED TOGETHER, THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN AWESOME BEYOND BELIEF, IMAGIN VOODOO CHILE SLIGHT RETURN WITH THEM TRADING VERSES AND LICKS, !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @BLUESMANRONCHICAGO l'd just love to see either of them perform live. But it would be amazing to see them together. It's a crime that they both aren't still with us, but they live on through the blues.

  • @macneil420 didn't see Jimi live, as i was only 14 when he hit the scene in 67, but i did see Stevie in 1984 at the Blues Festival here in Chicago. He did Voodoo Chile and Cold Shot among others, he was awesome and i miss him a lot. i always do Texas Flood and The Sky is Crying when i perform, and i put my heart into both songs in memory of him, though i use a harmonica rather than a guitar

  • @BLUESMANRONCHICAGO mean voodoo chile is one of my favourites of his, god im so jealous you got to see him live, i would give anything for that, but alas SRV is no longer with us, R.I.P

  • @chiguyfalco retarded

  • @chiguyfalco

u r forgetting robert johnson- king of the delta blues

  • srv is probly my favorite artist ever.... (well out side of jimi hendrix )and he is awsome. i dont get caught up in whose best ever to me to me srv is but thats irrelavent because im a nobody that likes the blues srv is a legend. but robbert cray has an awsome voice, he sings with such passion and conviction that it towers over every thing on stage he's my favorite blues singer. his voice makes the blues come alive like none other! (R.I.P) srv

  • BB, Stevie Ray, No matter who it was. they all played the same licks but added their own touches and signatures. None can be compared to others. Stevie was my favourite. May his soul live on in his music

  • I agree. There is a formula for 12-bar blues that has not changed since the genre arose. Whether or not a performance of 12-bar blues sets shivers down your spine depends on the emotion conveyed by the vocalist and the lead instrument. I can listen to it all day performed by a number of different artists that all give it a different feel. May they all continue to give it a different twist.

  • @srvjau man, I'm surprised that noone called you an idiot for saying that.. I posted a comment a while ago saying the same thing and i was called a moron, idiot, stupid & etc etc, all the names in the book.... You have earned a thumbs up

  • @srvjau exactly they all have the same recipe but they put there own ingredients into it. thank you god for beautiful musicians such as this.

  • best concert ive been to thus far was the robert cray band. he sings so loud and so soulfully you could hear th voice over the amps!!! insane to say the least.

  • just 2 days before i was before i was born....wow!

  • I actually saw Robert for free never got to see Stevie dang it.

  • Whoa.... I only got to see Stevie 3 times.. half the 6 gigs on my iPod is Stevie.. Wish I could add this..

  • @Lowesrider ......Well you can!!!

  • awsome powerful sintilating

  • Man I love Robert Crays voice, freakin' amazing!!! and no disrespect to the blues greats but Stevie was the greatest blues guitarist to yet grace this earths surface, he had it all and then some!!

    Miss ya Stevie Ray

  • I agree with you But I think he was not only the greatest blues player but the Greatest player ever.

  • @stratmann77 No. He was good, but no where near the best. He played a lot of the same licks in a lot of his songs, but either at a differant tempo, or he would add something before or after....as if to cover up what he did. To say he is better than BB King, or Muddy Waters, makes you seem sad. Those are two of the best guitarists of all time, and easily better than SRV. He was good but not the best. Saying that is like saying SRV did more for blues music than Robert Johnson. Its dumb.

  • @thundermurphy2234 BB was a pioneer as far as electric Blues guitar goes, but Stevie was a much more proficient guitarist than BB or Mud. Skills wise, Vaughan has just about any guitarist beat. There's a reason he's considered one of the best guitarists of any genre.

As for who you prefer, that's another story. I've seen BB live and he's great, but Stevie is my personal favorite. Nobody can combine his soft touch and raw power like he used to do.

  • skill wise... you are wrong. Someone like Pat Metheny tears SRV's skill apart.

HOWEVER, what SRV beats EVERY guitarist in history on is pouring every ounce of his soul and spirit into every single note he rips out of the guitar. Which is why he is the greatest. Not because he understood complex classical music theory (because he didn't) but because the guitar was an extension of his emotions, soul, and spirit.

  • oh my god

    what is this!!!

    yeah :)

  • this rules!

  • definatly cray...that must be SRV at the end thanks for posting that i can hear SRV they both have there own sounds so cool

  • srvfan2

Now yer learnin' ...Cray, King,Johnson...there is a whole world O' blues out there...go find it and bring it on home!

    The Tbear111

  • i wish there would be more posts of the robert cray band ,

  • YES, HE PUT SOME ASS BEHIND THAT 1.

  • Ass?

  • Robert's got some great vocals layin' it down here. Nice tight club sound. Thanks!

  • I read about a jam that SRV and Cray did in a biography of Stevie that I read several years back. This must be it.

  • Ive got the whole show. they do a mean version of Albert Collins' "Dont Lose Your Cool". I just havent gotten a chance to post it yet.

    Thanks for watchin

  • hey, Do you have the song i wonder by RC? if you do can you put it up?

  • waiten dude

  • Can you post it up? I would love to hear that thanks.

  • @bluessmith can you buy this on CD ?

  • @bluessmith SRV and Robert Cray, that sounds pretty fucking solid, hopefully you post that shit ASAP brutha

  • @bluessmith Please post the rest of this show. I've been looking for a bootleg online for a very long time, and haven't been able to find an active link yet. I'm a huge fan of both of these artists, and hearing them collaborate some more would be awesome.

    So please post!!

  • @bluessmith

you still hace that version of don't lose your cool? id LOVE to hear that version!!!!! hope you have a change to share it with us thnx

  • @bluessmith POST THAT STUFF MAN!! the world needs to see it

  • @bluessmith well we are still waiting for this gig's version of dont lose your cool... its been over 2 years since you promised it :P

    please upload it!

  • @atrickpay11 This probably wasn't the jam you read about in SRV's biography. They met in 1979 at the San Francisco Blues Festival and played a radio gig together with Stevie playing a lot of slide and Curtis Salgado, original singer and harp player for Robert Cray Band, singing. This is probably the jam you read about. Cray and Stevie played together a number of times in the mid to late 1980's.

  • @bbnatedogg i was there. no words can explain what i saw

  • Killer!!!

  • two of my guitar idols

  • i can think this is a song when you just lay down on the floor sleepy with a glass of wine in the hand and just feel the music going right through your heart

  • I don't know how I missed this one. I love blues - real blues and live is my preference. It goes right to the soul and lingers forever. It's because it is played from their hearts and souls that it does that. Somehow it always picks me up when I'm down. Prime music for when you just want to be alone. Miss ya Stevie. Thanks for posting this!!

  • Comment removed

  • to all buddin guitarist out there its not wot u play or how fast u can play its how u play it SRV pure magic

    fantastic video.

    thank you

  • im glad my friend got me into guitar and showed me srv, bb king, albert king, buddy guy, eric clapton and so many others

  • match made in heaven

  • Stevie needs to turn it up!!!! LOL Very cool song. Robert's vocals are so damn strong.

  • check out the thunderbirds. steves brother is another awesome texan guitar player.

i don't care how some of these young musicians think they play the real deal will always make you feel like groovin. technology these days can make a wrong note sound right. when you play live you really know whats up. god some of these bands need a kick in the ass. The vaughan brothers would kick their butts.

muddy waters, ledbelly bb king robert johnson, eric clapton. jimi hendrix. yomo toro, compay segundo

  • you know what always cheers me up though? imagine muddy waters standing right next to britney spears. just imagine that. just imagine what conversation would be created between them, and who would be the source of all musicianship and who would be the joke.

people need to see this difference.

    --

and im sorry for this 2 month late response, its not really a response though, for others to see too!

  • haha. oh well. im one of em'

  • srv is the man long live the blues

there are so many fakers out there, they hijack the repertoire and think that just sing the words makes music. you have to be real . jasmina anema god bless

  • stevie ray is my favourite musician in history, he's my favourite of all time..

i was just doing some 'research' on robert cray, been trying to further expand my insight into blues, when i ran across this video!

a combination of these two bluesmen really made my day. thanks for the upload very much!

  • thanks man. glad you like it

  • The further you dig into blues, the better your life will be my friend. Goes back aloooong way and there's much to learn, see, and gain from it. Have fun and keep it up! Enjoy Cray!!!!

  • @sinprelic stevies my all time favorite too.

  • @sinprelic listen to matt schofield i think he's so good as srv

  • this was always one of my favorite Cray tunes, so to add SRV to it is just a cherry on top! Thanks for posting this gem.

  • many thanks for posting my hats off to you

  • in my favs now! yeeyah

  • holy s@#$!, thanks for this!

  • no problem man thanks for watchin

  • Stevie was the man. you have to put muddy on your site. maybe you have, i haven't checked it all out. i'm too busy practicing my saxophone. there are alot of posers out there. i want to get rid of all the spam and objectional stuff that i sometimes receive. the internet is the last refuge of the untalented. computers can make a wrong note sound right. you can't lie in music.

  • Not often you hear Cray so raw - it sounds GREAT!

Stevie brought out the best in every guest appearance - this would have been awesome to see.

    Jeff

  • Mr Stevie Ray Vaughan, I love you for ever.

  • SRV and Robert Cray were the new blood in Blues in the 80's. We miss so much stevie.

    - Joel

  • I saw this guy play live with Eric Clapton in OKC. It was a great show. Cray definetly has his own style about him.
