  • i was considering this but now im sure im going to stick to complaining about contacts

  • Had this done yesterday worth every penny and to answer everyone's questions it's a piece of cake and the other question is yes they give you a muscle relaxer to calm you down and relax but nothing to worry about I'd do it again just for fun:)

  • do they give any kind of sedative to relax you during the procedure?

  • If you've played Dead Space 2 then I'm sure you would say no to this lol

  • ok did he take part of they eye out around 2:30?!

  • ahhhhhhhhhhhhh !!!!

  • does it hurt ?

  • how do you keep your eyes open and still im stil woried about that

  • I want to get this but I'm afraid that it's going to hurt bad. Does it hurt? Is it uncomfortable during the surgery?

  • @XXXCompAssesXXX You have a contraption on your face that forces you to keep your eyes open. It takes only a min or so to get used to, and then you stop struggling to close your eyes. The rest of the time, the doctor nurse gives you eyedrops to moisten it all. You also get eye drops that makes youreye feel nothing while it's all happening. When the knife cuts, it only feels like you have dust in your eye. You don't feel the laser at all. You just smell that something got burned.

  • @XXXCompAssesXXX In other words, the procedure is completely painless, but it can be a little uncomfortable because you /think/ it will hurt, so you will most likely have some trouble breathing properly. But the nurse will remind you to breathe and she'll do her best to calm you down. The pain comes a few hours after the surgery. The healing process is painful. And it varies how long it will hurt. Some people hurt only a few hours, while others might hurt for 24 hours. But

  • @XXXCompAssesXXX you get pain killers and everything. But honestly, the worst part isn't even the pain. It's the fact that you have absolutely /nothing/ to do for the next 24-48 hours but to lay down on the bed, or sit up and talk to someone. Reading is difficult as you only have one eye, and it hurts to move the "not-yet-working" eye, which is closed btw. Listening to music helps a lot. But it gets boring after a while. And the eye drops... I hate those... All the time, every

  • @XXXCompAssesXXX 15 minutes, you have to use eye drops on yourself. And this will go on for /days/. After a few days, you take them only when you feel like you need it. It can be often, or less often. If you have a hard time giving yourself eye-drops, now's the time to learn. Be /really/ careful with your eye. You have to treat it like it's breakable silk or something. But, on the plus side, you get to walk around and look cool with sun glasses for the next 6 or so months:p

  • im haveing one tomarrow

  • @TheTer470 same here

  • you're awake. they give you xanax to chill you out (it's scary!) and a pain killer because it kind of hurts. my entire procedure took about 5 minutes, and most of that was the doctor setting up the lasers and whatnot. i now have 20/15 vision and have no regrets.

  • do they make you go to sleep? or they do it to you while your awake?

  • @2250mrhacker you're still awake during the entire thing. But remember that all /you/ see, is a light, you don't see any knives or eye cutting or anything. All /you/ have to do while laying there, is remember to breathe. The entire thing is over in a minute or two. You know, a bit more if you count all the moving you around and giving eye drops and coming into the room, etc.

  • I wanted laser eye surgery because my sight is getting worse but after this I am NEVER going to!!

  • Are you awake during the procedure?

  • How long would this procedure take?

  • Who's seen Final destination 5?.... I think I'm good with my blurs and mix of colours /nod.

  • @mawhaw234 probably not best to believe everything you see in the movies. What happens in Final Destination 5 would NEVER happen in real life, and their portrayal of laser eye surgery going wrong is just as fictional as the premise of the entire film.

  • I was actually considering this.... But then I saw this video and now I'm considering my glasses to be rather comfortable...

  • Final destination 5... no thanks laser eye surgery!

  • lol... it doesnt look like it hurts! it just seems uncomfy, but the results are def worth it... i hate my glasses :(

  • This looks like it hurts so bad, is there no way to do this while the person is sleeping?

  • @tadros86 it actually does not hurt, it's just quite uncomfortable, but for 5 minutes on each eye it was totally worth it!

  • please be honest , does it hurt cuz im gettin it done next week :( ???

  • @icbyspm It depends a lot on the procedure you are getting. PRK/LASEK is uncomfortable, not so much the actual procedure, but the healing time afterwards. The eye is healing and healing hurts. On the other hand, LASIK patients don't experience nearly as much discomfort. There is much less area to heal as the flap covers the vast majority of the treated area. This is one of the reasons LASIK is SOO much popular than the older versions (PRK and LASEK). Relax, if you're having LASIK, it'll be fine.

  • @icbyspm i had it done on the 22nd july and no it does not hurt at all. it's really uncomfortable when they apply pressure on your eye but it only lasts 20 secs and feels fine after

  • Don't believe what the doctor says guys, it hurts like a motherfucker!

  • I don't like my eyes being touched...

  • I have nightmares now

  • @msthang986 Sorry... well at least you don't have to watch while it's being done!

  • What if you want to blink really bad?

  • @souljagurltellem150 The surgeon is adding liquid drops to your eyes the whole time, so you don't need to. Also, you're eyes are anaesthetised, so you don't feel the dryness that makes you want to blink.

  • I had this procedure done in San Antonio Tx three yrs ago. It was one of the best decisions I've ever made. If I had seen this video or any others I never would've done it. But I did, and I love it! I had a severe astigmatism and miopia. My scrip was od -4.25 and os -4.00. My vision was 20/200, now it's 20/15.

  • I have a couple of questions. around 5 years ago i aciidently fell asleep with my contact lenses in and ended up scratching my cornea.. is that going to be an issues when they determine whether im a candidate for lasik? Do those eye clmps that hold the eye open hurt? And what happens if you accidently jab someones eye with one of those insturments?

  • @jnyfried Scratches on the cornea heal faster than any other part of the body, but scarring may result if your cornea was seriously scratched. While corneal scarring isn't a disqualifying condition for laser eye surgery, a good clinic with sophisticated corneal imaging equipment will be able to advise you more specifically - e.g. they may even recommend a different procedure with the same results - like LASEK)

  • @rodsolar The eye clamps aren't comfortable, but they don't hurt. Besides, they're only holding your eye open for a couple of minutes during the procedure. The risk of an eye surgeon accidentally jabbing your eye with an instrument is minimal - they are surgeons with thousands of procedures under their belt, that have been trained to have extremely steady hands on procedures that are often even more sensitive than laser eye surgery (e.g. intra-ocular surgery - e.g. removing cataracts).

  • it is really recommended for possible patients to receive proper evaluation before submitting yourself to the procedure. A good eye clinic won't operate on you without proper evalutaion anyway.

  • well trhe scariest part is noing that if light hits the cone in your pupil you go blind

  • @xXTaserXTagXx There is no "cone" in your pupil. The pupil is a space in your iris that allows light to pass through so it can reach your retina in the back of your eye. You may be thinking about "rods and cones", which are light receptors on your retina.

  • @rodsolar yes that is it thank you

  • @angeliki1994 no pain you are awake not long

  • Before you get the surgery you have to meet with your doctor to verify that you qualify for the procedure. they take measurements and make sure that your eyes are not going to change and that it is the correct shape for surgery. during surgery u experience a few seconds of blindness while your eye "re-learns" how to see. pretty safe didn't hurt and i love it!

  • is it safe? what happens if your eyes change over time

  • @MacPr0xnxx0 You can get them retreated as long as it is safe to do so.

  • What is the difference between lasik and lasek? Are they just spelt differently?
