  • nice freudian slip there

  • Are sock poi even useful i have flowtoys and glowsticks but not really sure if socks give a learning curve care to shed any light?

  • Thank you for posting this video! It's very, very helpful, and you're a fantastic teacher. One of the best on here!

  • wher do u bye your poi ??????? im realy getting into it x x x xx x

  • @tomhed5 These poi are just socks with balls in them.

  • thanks :)

been doing poi for about 3 weeks now and learned this within the time lenght of the video :)

  • @AlexxisPlata ...try devil sticks if you think your so cool lol

  • @redringer8 i wasnt intending to show off. i was trying to say that i had only been doing poi for 3 weeks and hes a good teacher because i learned how to do this in a really short amount of time. ass hole.

  • @AlexxisPlata Ahh, well once you think you have poi down you should try the sticks. Or staff either one will make you feel awesome.

  • @redringer8 Light the sticks on fire, otherwise your just a little boy with his sticks.

  • wait im confuse. not about the lesson but what ur using iv'e been reading the comments and ur title it all says poi. is poi similer to glowstringing?

  • @nathanewa glowstringing is same idea exept glowsticks, poi is usually done with a sphere at the end of the sock, string, or lace. People that glowstringing tend to do more wraps and quick movements. People who do poi/fire spinning tend to be more fluid slow and more beautiful patterns and moves. Thats all my opinion. ( :

  • I think the more correct term would be "in-swung" because inverted implies a slightly more specific move-set. Great tutorial though, keep it up.

  • Yeah, I'm probably inclined to agree with you, as "inversions", while refering to movements inside the arms, generally involve having the arms crossed also, but even "in-swung" could be confusing, as I've heard the term (and "in-spin/spun" used to describe the portion of the rotation where the poi is coming towards the body, even if the poi is on the outside of the arms. It's kinda hard to describe in words, and would be so easy to show you, but hopefully you get the idea.

  • I've even heard the inside of the arms called "negative space", but I think that refers to something more specific also. I think I'm just going to say "inside the arms" from now on, it's longer, but hey, at least there's less room for confusion.

  • thanks for this, i learnt it really fast with your help :)

  • this video is super helpful, I'm about to take a week of vacation and I'm not leaving my poi at home, I'll have to keep this in mind

  • some moves i cant do without rlly short poi cause im a kid... well time to learn better inside plane controle lawl

  • really good tutorial are are one of the best :)

  • plane control really plays a part in when the buzz saw is in reverse ugh. lol ill get it though it looks very nice. thanks for the tut! :)

  • Very Useful! I've been looking for this!

  • where is tutorial number 22??? im confuzzled

  • Tutorial 22, is in the lesson plan, it's crossers. I made a video for it, but didn't feel that it brought enough new material to the net than already existed out there for crossers, so I didn't upload it. Should I just upload it anyway? Or should I continue to ponder until some original insight into how to learn it comes to me?

  • i dont know..personally i would like to see it. i dont tend to spend ages browsing for the tutorials i just tend to bookmark urs and just revisit them. i find them much more straight forward than most. i wish i could do as many moves as you can. im still only a beginner. i just like looking ahead to see whats in store for when i have practiced more. thanks for the tutorials btw! theyre awesome

  • ur a great poi artist you sould upload it

  • I have now. Check it out.

  • wow, you have some hardcore skills.

    i love your demos,

    have helped me loads.

    keep it up! =)

  • Thank you, I'm glad to hear I helped out.

  • Glad to hear you liked it.

  • hi nathaniel, got this link from HOP. Great video. I learned a lot. Just kind of newbie, so very helpful. Look forward to looking at your other vids. Only prob was slow loading, vid froze every 5 secs so took 20 min to get through entire vid. could easily have been probs on my side, although I do have pretty wide band width. cheers.

  • I'm glad to hear it helped. Sorry to hear it took so long to load, but I don't think there's anything I can do about that. The problem may've been on your end, on your service provider's end, or even on youtube's server end. Either way, I hope it loads faster for you in future.
