  • @sese306 ...he posted the comment after me? asswhipe

  • that IS optimus 2x.... korean o2x has a physical button

  • this is galaxy S vs Nexus S lol you can tell by the physical home button

  • good review

  • THATS NOT LG OPTIMUS 2X

  • @ThatRandomDude98

It is, damn it. As ClownDatWalk said. It's the korean version, what part of this can't you understand?

  • This is the truth behind it:

The Nexus S in most games will perform better, yet only slightly and this is why:

It has a single core 1GHz A8 Cortex Hummingbird chip set and the Optimus has a dual core Tegra 2 Nvidia based chip set, now think if you have a game which is utilized for a 1GHz Processor then it will 100% utilize what it can, with a dual core it will not utilize both core because games for phones aren't that complex yet. But in terms of future proof, get a dual core.

  • @SpEaKeRfReAk123 maybe you should learn how hardware and software works before commenting on stuff you clearly do not understand, the nvidia drivers make the apps use all cores just like windows based drivers do.

This is why when you check cpou usage while playing a game on the O2X both cores are under load.

  • Let me get this straight one more time.

O2x has a framecap at 117 fps, which wastes power and introduces screen tearing (only if it gets to that framerate, which I doubt so weak hardware will achieve).

The Nexus S is capped at 56.7 fps.

Every 3d benchmark the nexus s gets 56.7 fps.

It could get more, but it isn't necessary.

And also the Nexus S runs almost all tegra 2 games at the same framerate as tge o2x, if not a higher framerate.

  • @mystuff3040 No it doesn´t with the Gingerbread update on the LG Optimus 2x the framerate is flawless in every game now.

  • @mystuff3040

no.. nexus is hardware isnt anywhere near the O2x it with gingerbread it makes the nexus s look like crap

  • that's almost a tie, not to mention that the nexus s will has a lot more 3rd party developer support, a rooted and over clocked nexus s will probably run better than a rooted and over clocked optimus 2x

  • @1499Erick I doubt it, since the Froyo 2.2 doesn't fully utilize two cores so on this video it is only using 1 core. You will see a huge difference if it was using two cores. Just like computer CPU. In a single core benchmark (same CPU) it scores a average 10, on using dual core benchmark it scores a average 20 (SuperPi Benchmarks). So it should be alot faster on 3.0 Honeycomb in the future, unless Google or LG releases a dual core ver. Gingerbread.

  • @ThisLadChanny yea i knew that, but i was talking about the gpu, i know that the gpu score will also increase with both cores in use, but it will not raise that much. dual core with tegra 2 was a fail, i cant wait to see the new dual core snapdragon with the adreno 220 gpu, the adreno 220 seems to be more promising. In order to have a fast phone u must have a fast cpu and gpu, the tegra 2 fails to deliver.

  • @1499Erick Actually the Tegra 2 isn't that bad. Since most high end games (Android) are optimized for it than others. Also yeah I can't wait to see Adreno 220 as well, but when that comes out Tegra 3 will be out. I more looking foward to iPhone 5 with the A5 Chip (SGX543). Although I most likely be getting a iPhone 5, since I am a more over-Applefanboy, but interested in Android. (I have iPhone 4 and Google Nexus S, Android is nice and stuff, but compared to the smoothness of iPhone 4..)

  • @ThisLadChanny i also like how ios takes full use of the hardware provided(something android needs to do), the reason i have an Evo is because i love the customization that it offers, i also have an ipod touch 4g :) , in what android prospers ios fail, for example the iphone is known for dropping calls on at&t and verizon while android phones are typically better for calls, android is known a memory hog with a great deal of fragmentation while ios is low resource there is no shame in having both

  • @1499Erick Yeah I agree, theres nothing wrong with having the two worlds :). Yes, hopefully they fix the dropcall or antenna problem in iPhone 4 on iPhone 5. Im sure Android should soon release a hardware acceleration, then I might consider getting Android Phone then a IPod 5G instead (Better games). I've seen hardware acceleration on the Dolphin Browser HD (Only for Honeycomb 3.0), just smooth as iPhone but better because of flash :D!

  • This >>IS<< optimus 2x (P660) its the focking asia version of the optimus 2x(P990). besides the buttons there is NO ANOTHER DIFFERECE between them....

    L2R B4 posting bullshits

  • Omg... Optimus 2x get more because it has higher screen refresh rate, something linke 240hz, when galaxy s has 60hz. So the maximum frames that lg2x can display is 240 and galaxy s 60...

Tegra 2 is only 5-15% faster than hummingbird so that is not very much.

  • @MinDControlDx Actually everything you said is wrong.

But let me correct you: Optimus 2x has a framecap at 78 fps or more i think.

While the Nexus S has a framecap at 56.

And the SGX 540 found in the hummingbird chip is faster than the Tegra 2's GeForce ULP

  • @mystuff3040

Framecap is set to refresh rate...

And yeah, SGX 540 might be faster than GeForce ULP, but there are 8 of those in Tegra 2...

  • @MinDControlDx The GeForce ULP included in Tegra 2 has 8 cores.

But the SGX 540 is still around 30 % Faster

  • @mystuff3040

Omg... It's not, GeForce ULP is 5-25% faster.

  • @MinDControlDx Yes it is.

The only reason the Optims 2x is 25 % faster than galaxy S, Nexus S, etc.

It because of a cpu bottleneck.

The optimus 3d has the SGX 540 and gets 30% higher scores than the Optimus 2x in ALL tests

  • @mystuff3040

Optimus 3d is dual core and has overclocked sgx 540...

  • you guys dont pay enough attention. it may be a 2x varient coz the button thes closest to us is from the 2x. look at any picture

  • yep its the lg optimus 2x i got the game quake 3 also running on it. so far i know it's much faster than my galaxy s, what i tested.

  • this is not optimus 2x. LOL!!!!! hoax!!!! i do not remember optimus 2x having hardware buttons///

  • Comment removed

  • @all: the left is LG Optimus for Korea, and same spec with global feature ,Galaxy S is better :)

  • @quockhanh06 LOL... IM very sure that the left one is not optimus 2x. it is galaxy S. look at the UI, the shape and the hardware buttons...

  • @akocern03 No, it's the Korean version of the Optimus 2x. Google it. Comes with hardware home button and no search button.

  • lol the left one is galaxy S

  • Comment removed

  • There's no need to argue. This guy is a fraud. It's not an Optimus 2x.

  • that's not even LG Optimus 2x...weird!

  • nub u cannot do a timedemo?!?!?!?! look on my VIDEO :D

  • Just to clarify it for all of you dumbasses saying that the Tegra 2 is better.

The nexus s is framecapped at 56 fps while the optimus 2x isn't

thats also the reason it gets higher scores in other benchmarks.

In pure performance the nexus s is a stronger phone.

  • Listen guys. LG uses a less responsive screen. SGS is a faster phone, LG only wins in performance tests such as Quadrant and games.

When samsung gets their orion processor out, Nvidia tegra will lie on the floor.

Though when Nvidia tegra 3-4x comes out, vice versa.

COming from a Nvidia fan with GTX 480 2x (hate ATI/AMD).

none the less Samsung for thewin

  • @cocopara How do you know that they use a less responsive screen. And the SGS gets laggy after a while.

  • @hamet1234

Because the technology LG deployed is not of the same quality as Samoled nor Retina (IPS).

Also, LG deployed a buggy crap skin who got a 4(6?)/10 by Engadget. The phone in itself is shitty TBH other then the hardware. The screen is inferiour, the skin makes it choppy and unresponsive, the only thing the phone is good at, is Benchmarks and intensive games. The overall user experience is poor.

  • @cocopara Thanks for your answer, but you are the biggest hater I´ve ever seen. Engadget´s model was fucked up. And the skin is really good and the UI is reaaaaally smooth. And the screen is awesome to. You´re just a hater.

  • @hamet1234

You never tried an LaG have you?. I have tried several though not this one hence I am relying on reviews. the UI was buggy as fuck, it is NOT responsive and there are lags evn with the notifaciton screen. It is just as good as HTC hero in everything BUT gaming where it shines.

  • @cocopara well it's the same kind as the iphone but larger and lower resolution. They are the same technology from the same company, LG!

  • @ubuntulucas

Well, the Screen looks of really poor quality. Never the less Samsungs Galaxy S 2 will crush anything.

  • @ubuntulucas

Actually. I never looked close on the left version. IT is a samsung galaxy S indeed. VEry nice how this guy fooled a lot of people

  • Tegra 2 is better SGX 540 end of.

  • The tegra2's gpu is better than sgx540 ,but the fps looks very near...

  • @CN9999 Actually the SGX 540 is better.

    90M polygons vs 81
