  • As a guy with a seriously low body fat percentage (6.5%) I can say that my abs were barely visible, until I started exercising a couple months ago. There might have been a little outline, but it still doesn't look like yours. You don't work out, but lifting up your one leg every step you take is in essence, working out your abs, although not that noticable while you're doing it, it does keep them fit. And it was probably your summer of exercise that got them looking like that in the first place.

  • @whooaduude soy substances are actually things you should avoid, as there are natural saturates in things like milk, lamb from a butcher (no supermarket shit that's been packed with chemicals) and so on, help you in burning fat. I know it's weird as saturates are things you should avoid but you also need natural saturates and sugars.

  • That is true that they won't change but,the muscles(like all muscles) will get either bigger or smaller with exercise and then diet and become more conditioned :) also,I probably have 10 percent body fat or lower and can't see my six pack(I am in a wheelchair though,and am sitting down almost always lol)

  • @Justericpersonal He left out a ton of details about the body fat content, but then, it'd take hours to explain it all. The location fat collects depends a lot on genetics and hormonal make up just as much as activity. Then there's the blood fat content aspect which takes a lot of scientific stuffs. Yeah, I said stuffs. Everyone will be different in everything, and this is no exception.

It would take hours(I am going to school for Nutrition so,I was thinking more about if the would get smaller and more "toned" or whatever)...I agree everything will be different for every person as everyone is different...You can hit me with a pm if you would like,if you want to talk about it...As,I said,I am going to school for fitness so,it interests me but,am just starting so,if you have stuff to say on it,I would love to talk to you.

  • @Justericpersonal Naw, I had to learn a bunch of details about nutrition and fat because of gallstone blockage that was ignored because I didn't fit the risk group (ironically most people with gallstone blockage don't fit the risk group), since it almost killed me, I looked a lot deeper than I needed and barely scratched the surface really.

  • @Justericpersonal I'm skinny, not super skinny just what doctors believe is healthy. This whole fat scare has a really dark side, in that many ailments are wrongly linked to being "over weight" so the doctors just use simple fallback diagnoses and we fall for it. One of the reasons I'm on a crusade to set the record right, some people are just heavier than others, and it's your diet that increases risks not your weight.

  • @KittenKoder Well,your weight can increase your risk when it comes to things like cancer and things like that because cancer cells feed on fat..But,being skinny (underweight) has risks too such as osteoporosis...but,if you are what is healthy then it is ok but,we make a bad mistake if we ONLY listen to doctors about diet as,they don't always take nutrition classes,but we need nutritionists for that. but,I can agree that sometimes we get incorrect diagnoses...

  • @KittenKoder continuation of my other comment-diet can put us at risk if it is wrong too,I agree but mostly if it comes to allergies or weight it would seem to me or just not being able to tolerate something(celiacs disease,phenylketonuria,and maybe sometimes crohns but they would actually need extra stuff instead of not having it).

  • just wanna point out my opinion, dont take me wrong or anything tho. because u have one leg, when u are walking u are using more of ur belly muscles than average two legged person. just normal walking everyday and keeping ur body fat at 10% may not give the same results as you had. therefore one average two legged person may not get a six pack by just walking on the street normally.

I only ever eat white everything because I CAN'T eat brown/ wholewheat/ wholemeal stuff because it's high in fibre and lets just say... I'm allergic to high fibre in a way. =/ And I eat a lot of sugary things, I have a sweet tooth, I could easily eat a whole jar of chocolate spread or a few table spoons of sugar. =/ I don't... but I can stand that amount of sweetness. Does that mean that I'll never lose fat on my lower tummy?

  • @AnimeMoviePro He kind of has to be in good shape because before this his JOB was to be a Para-Olympic Alpine Ski Racer. That tasks requires some very strong muscles. Not only in the core but also legs, arms and back. Now at current time when that is not his job, if he doesn't stay in shape then he won't be able to move around on his crutches as well and that is basically his only non-motorized mode of transportation. You're just jealous because he has way better abs than you.

  • Yes it is true, that you have to reduce body fat to make the abs appear, but you can be all thin and have abs, thats not very impressive. You need to do exercises if you want your abs to be big and look good as well. But yes, it won't matter if you have a lot of fat on the abs.

  • True we should stay away from the white bread, pasta, sugar. Starch turns into sugar, sugar to fat. But we can't just stop eating it altogether. It also depends how much food intake you have. This is where self-control kicks in, if you have one. And asians eat white rice but it's maybe a small bowl and then they'll have vegetables, or soup. Fish, and meat. it's all about having a well-balanced meal. and exercising helps burn calories. :)

  • @awrootbeer1996 He wasn't saying you can't lose weight at all, but things that are white ARE very bad for you. (I heard this first from a doc, then Josh mind you). Things like brown rice are VERY good for your overall health. Whole grain breads and pasta's as well. Take it from the Olympian ;)

    And to the person who said brown rice isn't good, it's def an acquired taste, but now I love it! hahaha :)
