this is without doubt the best piece of music ever composed, and people will come in and see this statement and laugh at us losties. but the laugh would be on every single human being if they knew how powerful this ending was, the music stirs up every emotion you experienced on the show and i remember when it merged into no place like home, i was completely destroyed emotionally and sobbing like a child. Unbelievable series
@rob87s I completely agree. I wish that people actually understood the ending. Alotta the people who didn't like the ending don't understand it and think they died in the plane crash. Not true. Everything that happened was real. The Flash-Sideways was limbo, and like Christian said, they all needed each other to move on to whatever awaits them. Damn, I'm getting teary. I actually just watching the last episode today
Michael won't stay on the island forever, in the epilogue "New Man in Charge" it was said that Walt will help him, so don't worry, he'll be alright :)
@surple55 He shot two people and went to great lengths to redeem himself after he lost everything. He died to keep the freighter from blowing up for just a few more minutes. Yeah, he killed Ana Lucia and Libby, but isn't the whole point of Lost redemption? And he tried his damnedest to redeem himself.
Maybe he can't move on because of the fact that his 'redeeming moment' did not physically take place on the island? Or because he had to reconcile with WAAAAAAALLLLLLTTTTT!!!!!!
Beautiful. so something I just noticed, and I don't know if I'm super late on this or not, but obviously there's the whole circle story cycle with Jack starting the show by opening his eye and then ending it by closing it, but did anyone else notice that in this piece, the exact same note played by the exact same instrument in the exact same way both starts and finishes the song? I'm probably just super late to the party on that one, but I think it's great. :-D
We're performing Shakespeare's The Tempest at my college this weekend and we're adding some elements of Lost to make it a more modern setting and we use this piece of music at the very end during Prospero's monolouge and around 3:19 when he comes in at the ending bow, it makes the ending so awesome. Even people in the cast who don't watch the show agreed that the music for the bows was awesome.
This music is one of if not the greatest tracks Michael Giachhino has ever written.
Aww I love Lost so much! It's my fave show ever! And this song is absoloutely beautiful, the tone is just amazing. I cry every time I hear this song, it's just so powerful and epic. It always plays when the people of Lost reunite or something sad happens.
I just finished the show for the very first time today. I started watching it in June. Idk how you all did it for 6 years. I knew the characters for 6 months and I was tore up from the floor up when it ended. This show is beautiful, and the score is just amazing. I don't really like Michael Giacchino that much, but he kicked ass in Up, and he kicked even more ass in Lost.
@vhswimmer The ones (me included) who started watching it when it premiered and got all the way through till the end suffered a lot. you have no idea lol

@ktm5194 Not being jerk, but that would've gave away the ending. Although I do get what your saying. "The End" title couldn't have been more fit for 'Lost' even if it was cliche
It still gives me goosebumps... The main LOST theme at the end of the track just breaks my heart...

@mcmadpac2 That was still why he wasn't in the church though. And that's why Hurley brought Walt to the island, to help him move on.
