Ok, as far as I've seen, this is the best tutorial on how to make an evil twin, but I'm a little confused still. How are the two cubes connected?

you can do it with any 2x2 rubik's cube

yes, of course, and it's esyer 'cos you don't have to make the first step, but the cube will be really small =)
