  • Can't believe it's her last show today! love u Sutton!!!!

  • Sutton Foster is amazing! I wish I could sing like her! I listen to this album everyday!

  • seen yesterday on Broadway..... AMAZING !!! A MUST SEE!

  • I can't believe she's performing this for the last time today. NYC will miss you, Sutton!!

  • I met Sutton Foster once, she is just amazing.

  • @Aliharuno me too! she really is :)

  • i have watched this at lease 100 times and it still has the same effect on me as when i watched it the first time..love it!

  • I think I will "like" every 2011 Tony performance on YouTube, amazing.

  • Sure she can dance . . . but her voice annoys me

  • no wonder she one best lead actress in a musical, I LOVE YOU SUTTON FOSTER!

  • Sutton Foster is such a close family friend and I am going to start doing Broadway shows wish me luck everyone

    <3 xo

  • I learned that dance from a guy in the show.

  • AMAZING!!!!!!!

  • that makes me HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • sutton foster can do whatever she wants!!! she is the queen of musical theatre!

  • im learning this at skool! :D

  • @vcikkyz tou should also try to learn how to spell :)

  • Just went to see this show yesterday. Sutton Foster + Joel Grey + One of My Favorite Shows Ever = Time and Money Well-Spent. FANTASTIC.

  • I think she is trying to sound like Lupone but that's just my opinion.

  • @glorybe99 ...lol what? She sounds absolutely nothing like Patti. If ANYTHING, she's taking a leaf out of Ethel Merman's book.

  • @HikariDragonRyuu A couple of times during this song and "Gabriel" I did detect a slight bit of "channeling" of Ms. Merman going on. But, if you're to channel someone, why not use the best. Kind of like the actor playing Harold Hill in Stroman's revival of TMM- no one better than Preston.

  • @glorybe99 @HikariDragonRyuu - I have to respectfully disagree with both of you. For taking on such an iconic role, the originality and freshness Sutton brought to this show was astounding.

  • We went last night and it was wonderful. My face hurt from smiling and laughing.

  • I'm SO tempted to purchase a ticket for her last performance next Sunday.. That $150 would totally be worth it.

  • I absolutely LOVE how she says "nobody will oppose".

  • song from temple of doom

  • Amazing!

  • Marry me Sutton <3

  • Does anyone else feel like Sutton Foster was a little absent for this performance?

  • @johnrobbie11 She'd already performed the ENTIRE show once earlier that day, the number was cropped in half & compressed, and they had to conform to TV requirements. Cut her some slack.

  • it's wonderful. I think that she looks like Ginger Rogers in Follow the Fleet.

  • Yes @tuggymonster1 Joel grey was the original wizard in wicked back in 2003. Sutton foster is amazing! I wish this show was in Australia more

  • @sapphmonster Joel Grey was the original 'Master of Ceremonies' in CABARET in 1966, which is even more impressive.

  • I love how how her facial expressions show a bit of sarcasm while also seeming like she's truly enjoying the show xD

and aw man i'm so jealous of her clear, high pitched, loud voice! <3 (i wish i could do that.....but if i try my voice would die)

  • I think I really want to see this 'show now.

  • @tuggymonster1 Sutton leaves after the March 11th matinee and Joel Grey's contract goes to April 29th. They're selling tickets to Sept. Better hurry- but it's REALLY worth it.Don't think Ms. Foster will be back to Brdway for awhile.

  • @mmbr01rrf Too bad I don't live near B'way and I'll never get there. Wasn't Joel Grey in Wicked?

  • In olden days a glimpse of stocking was looked on as something shocking but now GOOODDD KNURRRRSSS!!! ANYTHING GURRRRSSSS!!!

  • I wouldn't be surprised if they were still performing this 100 years from now.

  • beautiful! and that is Fiona on the Shrek Play!! AWESOME!!

  • I wish I could tap dance. :,(

  • Whoa. From afar, with that hair and clothes, she totally looks like Grace Kelly. :O

  • And I realise that's vague... I mean the TALLEST guy.

  • I love the tall guy with the white hat, he looks so happy through the whole thing. ^___^

  • she can't keep up with the tempo

  • @mmbob711 On which planet ?????

  • Sutton is so freaking amazing.....but those pants are horrible.

  • @symmone1oz those pants are soooo '30's.

  • @mmbr01rrf Since this musical first opened in 1934, I think the pants are spot on.

  • @zuzupetals1999 I agree !

  • @zuzupetals1999 AND they make her ass look AMAZING! (See 1:20) Haha :)

  • @lifeinapan No matter how much weight Sutton loses during this run, her ass is still there, lol !

  • every time I pause this video, Sutton Foster makes the craziest faces.

  • its performances like this that make me go "screw college i'm getting dance lessons and voice lessons!"

  • @rockinandmockin i think that alllll the time

  • @rockinandmockin hahaha I think like that every time I watch a musical! Tap Dancin' fame here I come! :p

  • @rockinandmockin You know a good place to get those? College.

  • i've been obsessed with Sutton ever since Millie, she's fabulous!

  • I think Sutton really brings back that flavor of Old Broadway I like so much?

  • I only watch it for he big blond dancing sailor.

  • @dards4444 That's Adam Perry. And take it from someone who has seen this show in person, you can't take your eyes off him LOL.

  • @Mr21scott .....Thanks

  • Sutton Foster is amazingly talented, but I hate how they turned it into a more tap than dance number. Seriously, her singing talents are wasted.

  • I'm breathless just watching it!! Can't wait to try it this summer!!

  • just....amazing. wow

  • "THREE DOG, AUUUUUUU!"

  • She and her brother are awesome. I wonder if they've co-starred in a show...

  • @JRipley15 Sutton Foster, Hunter Foster, and his wife Jennifer Cody were all in Grease at the same time in 1996... That must have been so much fun!!

  • @JRipley15 Who Steven Foster.........I'm going to Alabama with a banjo on my knee........

  • I dont like how they changed the music up a bit for the revival :/

  • How can she hold that note after that hard-fast dancing! :O

    She's Awesome! :D

  • this makes me wanna get up and take tap lessons every time i watch it!!!

  • @meltheninja13 Trust me don't try it I'm doing this exact choreography for my dance recital and it is a killer!

  • @meltheninja13 that's exactly what did after watching this :P my mom signed me up :)

  • 1:21 :)

  • Can we just talk about how I almost started cheering when she did the circles? It's 4 in the morning......

  • no matter how "easy" the dance is it's hard to sing after all of that...

  • @kevkevshields well yea but there's a lot of in-between sounds that you cant really make out through the video

  • Comment removed

  • I am motivated to learn all this tap. I'm a tapper. I think I can do it

  • @MsSabrinaMae It's a lot easier than it looks, it's all falaps, time steps, and ball changes.

  • @kevkevshields And which show with a 8 minute tap/vocal number are you currently playing the lead in, just curious ?

  • @mmbr01rrf Uh what? All I said is it's easy tap choreo, not bad, just easy.

  • I think the baby jesus would approve whole heartedly of this fabulous number

  • I'm part of the 128 that dislikes this video

  • @czcoisie AND you took the time to tell us about it? Wow! You deserve a gold star!

  • @czcoisie Did your hand slip??

  • the best was with John Barrowman and Elaine Paige!

  • I'm going to see this in a couple of weeks, so have been looking at a load of videos, and Sutton sounded great at first, then she went really tinny & nasal about 30 seconds in, heres hoping for an understudy.....

  • @GypsyWomanUK Are you serious? She is amazing on stage. I've seen it more than a few times, and every single performance, she blows the doors off the theater.

  • the tempo for the song is really fast, how do you breath?? so many notes to sing and the tempo is really fast

  • <3 i idolize this star

  • Remember that time that, Lindsay Pearce can't sing or even hold a note. I do!

  • I'm playing Hope in Anything Goes in March. I <3 this show!

  • The fact that people compare Lindsay Pierce to Sutton Foster is hilarious to me. Lindsay got famous from a television show that is trying to make her into Sutton. She has done Sutton's songs on both The Glee Project and Glee. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, and Lindsay will NEVER be Sutton. Sutton is famous because of her talent, not a television show.

  • I saw this in new York!!! :)

  • i love this woman. i met her after a small show she was in called Trust and she was beyond sweet. not to mention she is amazingly talented.

  • she is amazing, all these people so much of talent!!!

  • This Is an "OKAY" performance.... No one perform this quite like Patti Lupone!

  • Comment removed

  • I got to be honest, while I love Sutton, I think Lindsay has a stronger voice, oh but Putti outranks them both by a long shot.

  • Sutton Foster is absolutely impeccable.

  • Sutton is flawless :D

  • It's hard to believe that someone as cute as a button as Joel Grey played the Emcee. But that's talent for ya!

  • Still not as good as the genetically perfect John Barrowman!

  • Lindsay didn't even sing this whole song or the original arrangement or key. You can't compare.

  • @Kcinimod2000 Duh. Sutton couldn't sing this song in the original key (check out Merman's or LuPone's) and had it brought down like an entire octave, lol!

  • I can't believe that some people are comparing the amazing Sutton Foster with Lindsay Pierce! Come on, Sutton is a true star. I'm not saying that Lindsay isn't talented because she is, but you can't compare them.

  • 119 are jealous they can't tap like Sutton Foster.

  • One of the MOST stressful shows to pull off...BUT its amazing when you have sold out seats at every show! Loved doing this show <3

  • @MayokoLove haha my high school is doing it right now everyone is like super stressed and have no time for hw :x

  • @KawaiiHunnyMango33 I can definately relate! lol My college drama class did it and I ended up dropping my Anatomy class cuz I didnt have time to study >.> lol Have you had any arguments break out? lol I cant even begin to count the arguments that the entire cast had...we had like 22 ppl in the cast....wayyy to many! haha

  • i love sutton in this. she's just like "what? this old thing?"

  • @mchammar416 Ha. It's like it's second nature to her, isn't it? :)

  • I wanna be Sutton Foster when I grow up.

  • anyone else wish there was more singing and less dancing?? or is it just me being wierd???

  • @4evaluvjr She wanted to be remembered for this show and she knew that she didn't have the star power nor the singing prowess of either Merman or LuPone, so she just tried to make up for her inadequacies by asking for a longer dance routine which the two legends weren't given the opportunity to perform. As you can see, however, he mediocre dancing skills don't help much at all. All the work is done by the REAl dancers in the background...

  • @UCantBeatStreisand You're joking, right? Anyone with ears can hear that this song, although sung in a lower key, was not an entire octave lower than the previous renditions. Also, Kathleen Marshall had these specific singing/dancing expectations for whoever played Reno before Sutton Foster even accepted the role. Get your facts straight before spreading your ignorance.

  • The gerber baby was better. By a lot

  • I like the gerber baby better :)

  • Sutton Foster is flawless.

  • now i really wish i could tap dance

  • I LOVE MUSICAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALS

  • -3****

  • Already seen it twice!!!! It continues to amaze me :) it is soooo much better live -3 I love sutton foster

  • this is FLAWLESS.

  • I've watched this SO. MANY. TIMES.

  • @broadwayfan66 lol same. :)

  • She's absolutely amazing... it's unreal how good she is.

  • She's so sassy in this...I love it

  • LuPone did a phenomenal job as Reno. I saw the show with Foster in December and I was so blown away at how much she brought to her performance. I have always been a fan of her. I think she's an amazing actress and singer. But there is no point to arguing over who is the best. Each brought there own spin to the role. But what does make me angry are the people on here saying other people deserved the role. gleeks. get it though your skull that your precious Lindsay has nothing on Sutton Foster.

  • @bradsox95 I agree 110%!

  • OMG I LOVE sutton FOSTER she is one of the best sctresses on broadway!!!

  • i LOVE this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! amazing♥

  • I want to be her! She is so amazing

  • @downwithleah She HAD to take a break; this was just too much for her untalented feet.

  • @LeaMicheleBombshell Clones are back !!!!

  • Did she come down from heaven on a moonbeam? I think she must have. What a talent! What a STAR!

  • Although it's wonderful, this performance doesn't even begin to do Sutton Foster justice. You NEED to see this woman perform live. I guarantee she will blow your mind!

  • I love Sutton and I've seen her live (Drowsy Chaperone...oh my GOD), but I do understand the comments that don't think it's that it's as impressive as some of the other stuff she's done. The chorus is outdancing her some of the time in this number.

  • sutton was doing a workshop at my school and she was saying that its important to know your limits. she said "for example i often times have to remind myself 'sutton, you cant belt higher than a g'". everyone just stared at her with awe.

  • @WEEZERman1212 Sutton Foster is such a braggart.

  • @LeaMicheleBombshell haha yeah i suppose. but she was did it in a funny joking kinda way. shes actually a really sweet and down to earth person.

  • @LeaMicheleBombshell BE GONE GLEEK YOUR KIND IS NOT WELCOME HERE.

  • I love Sutton Foster, but no one sings this song like Ethel Merman.

  • I blame Steven Spielberg but every time I hear this song I expect to see Kate Capshaw singing it in Chinese.

  • @downwithleah I was reading an article where they interviewed Kathleen Marshall, the director and choreographer, about her whole concept behind this number. She purposely made Reno Sweeney the pied piper of the song, whereas in past productions of 'Anything Goes' Reno just sang the beginning, stood off to the side while the ensemble danced, and then came back out to finish off the song. Basically, it just reinforces Marshall's vision for Reno to have control and command.

  • I really love this, apart from how lazy her style is. She lacks the charming show that the time period had. There's no sway and flow to her tapping

  • @libbybethcoxster Did you see ALL the shows in 1934 or just the new ones ? LOL-And I'm not talking about films but LIVE shows ?

  • @mmbr01rrf and @audreey18 I'm just voicing my opinion. I did say I really love it didn't I? It would just be good for her to loosen and move herself a little more that's all. And I'm not denying she's got some awesome stamina to be able to tap her tush off and then belt out that last section. She's great, I never said I didn't like it

  • She IS extremely talented, but I'm just not a fan of her voice.

  • what happened to the talent in hollywood, they're are people who can sing act and dance but we don't see it anymore, we need to know that these people are put on a pedestal for a reason; they have to do it all. the golden days of hollywood are gone with the wind like vivien leigh, clark gabel, judy garland, micky rooney, debie reynolds, gene kelly, ginger rogers, fred astair, betty grabel, ann miller, martha raye, bob hope. bing crosby, eleanor powell, rita hayworth. thank gosh for broadway! :)

  • Comment removed

  • I hate to say it, and she's really got a fantastic voice, but she's really got no stage presence, I feel. Her dancing is great too, but it just looks so forced.

  • @sirfluffums Just one suggestion- Ms Foster in LIVE performance before you judge so harshly. That's all.

  • @mmbr01rrf *see* her in LIVE performance. sry.

  • saw it yesterdaaay :D

  • Indiana Jones! :D

  • Simple and effective tap number. Why do we need complicated tap moves when this does it ? Love the number and the old show tune!!

  • She's fucking adorable.

  • i never get sick of watching this :) who would DARE dislike this??

  • That was the greatest thing I have ever seen in my life.
