@AiDz0r PS3 Eye is better for more complex motions and allows for a larger capture space, but the setup is more involved. Kinect is literally plug-and-play but capture space is very small and the type of motions it can capture is more limited. We use both, and which system we use depends on what we need to capture. Thanks for asking.
BTW, these tests are pretty old. I hope to get some recent test results up soon. The iPi DMC system has definitely come a long way since we did these early tests.
@AiDz0r Yes, more accurate plus a larger capture space. Just be advised that a lot more work is involved in setting this system up compared to the Kinect. I would research this carefully before making a decision. Make sure you have a computer system that's powerful enough to capture four to six video streams at once, and that you have adequate space for this system. The Kinect on the other hand, can work with a modest computer with a fast secondary drive and used in a typical living room.
@AiDz0r One more thing: you need a fast 'modern' graphics card for fast and accurate tracking. I've used an nvidia Geforce GTX 260 and a GTX 460, and both work great.
@littlegreendogmovies Though one thing i don't understand, is that isn't PS3 Eye Cam capturing that ball light thingy? How would this motion capture gestures?
@AiDz0r I think you're mistaking the PS3 Move for the PS3 Eye. These are two different devices. The PS3 Move is an a wand that works similar to a Wii Remote system; The PS3 Eye is a USB camera that can capture 640 x 480 video frames at up to 120fps. Hope this helps.
Playstation 3 Eye vs Kinect ?!

@littlegreendogmovies So you are saying PS3 Eye cam, is more accurate/smooth capture than Kinect? If so i'll be heading off to buy 4 Cams.

@littlegreendogmovies Intel Core i7 2600K @ 4.2Ghz / Corsair 4GB DDR3 ram/ gigabyte GTX 570/ Z68 UD5 should do.

@littlegreendogmovies As long as the PS3 Eye Cam is better, i would eventually solve problems that i encounter.
