  • where is ฃ Kho Khuat man

  • good excercise, but not in the correct thai 'alphabetical'order.

  • Thank you for your comment : )

    Which one is incorrect?

  • sawasdee khrap, first I want to say that I like your video very much. As I begin to learn Thai, I followed your pronounciation with care, but I missed three letters of the alphabet. Kho khuat(bottle) kho khon(person) and no nu(mouse). Also I think that pho sam-phao(sailboat) and fo fan(teeth) are not in the right alphabetical order as are ho hiep(chest) and so suea(tiger)

  • .Nevertheless your video helps me a lot to improve my pronounciation of the Thai language. And believe me, for a farang it is very difficult.Greetings from Belgium. Phop kan mai !

  • Thank you to correcting me, you make me shy because I'm Thai but i forgot my mother language alphabet :"> now i'm not wonder why my student still can not speak Thai :-D

I'm sure you can speak Thai pretty good enough and not necessary to learn from my lesson

By the way, Kho khuat (bottle) and Khokhon (human) was cancel to use in Thai Language already.

Thank you for your message, Laew Khuy Kan Eek Kraab

Ps. Sorry for my broken english too.

  • When did Kho Khuat and Kho Khon become obsolete? Those two words are pretty common and it wouldn't make sense to cancel a letter thats common o___O

  • Thank you for your question. It is the same question I asked to my teacher when I was in primary school. I cant recall what was the answer she gave to me so, here you are, i searched for you

  • It was cancelled to use 61 years ago. The reason was typewrite that using before that time (Prototype of typewrite made by Mr. Edwin H. Macfalan ; an American; in 1892) couldn't put ฃ and ฅ on the keyboard because not have enough space.

So that why, nowadays some scholar entreat to use ฃ and ฅ again because we can put any character on keyboard in computer already.

  • I have a book published in 1995, that still teaches the said letters. Are they still used, or are there now words spelled differently?

  • yes, when i was primary student (1988) I had to remember and write it too, but wasnt using those alphabet .

Originally we use ฃ (Kho-Khuad) for ฃวด (Bottle) now its replaced by ขวด (using ข Kho-kai; Egg)

and ฅ (Kho-khon) for ฅน (Human) replaced by คน (using ค Kho-Kwai; buffalo)

Because there are only two words use those alphabet. Im not wonder why it become obsolete

  • I always noticed that those two letters looked awful similar to each other. Thanks.

So thats why my aunt said ก-ข-ค and I thought "Thats out of order"

  • by the way, Rodier1128 I dont know which web-site you used for translate your English to Thai. But I can say that I don't understand above paragraph. : D If possible please do not use it.

  • คุณไปแปลที่ไหนมาเนี่ยะ??
