  • A lot of dog seizures happen due to poor breeding, over breeding, inbreeding. Seizures can happen in dogs but, they are not inherent in huskies. A lot of breeds are having issues these days. I hope this dog was a rescue. I really don't believe these hybrids with wild animals are a good idea. They are banned here but, a rescue for a very experienced dog owner would be good. I rescued a litter of wolf/dogs that were abandoned. Placed them all but, the outcome as grown, was predictably not good.

  • The best cure I have found for this is to try and remove the "stressor" if possible. The seizure in this video went away as soon as I took him outside to see he was coming home with us. If it is really warm out try to cool them down as well. This guy only has seizures in high stress situations.

  • He isn't on medication for seizures. The Vet said they only need it if they experience Grand Mal (their eyes roll back and show the whites). Stress definitely causes the seizures for this guy, not sure about others. His most recent one was this Spring when 2 coyotes came into the yard after him and he chased them out and then had a seizure, not sure if one tried to bite him or not. It only lasted about 10 minutes.

  • Aw... He's so beautiful. It's sad to see dogs go through this.

  • This is exactly what happened to my papillion today. It was no where near 90 mins, but it sure felt an eternity. =\

  • There is medication for dogs who experience seizures... most huskies have them its sad because they are such lovely dogs. I have 2 and my oldest, 10 years, has had some small ones.

  • I have a rat terrier, she has seizure every 3 months, she seems scared, but they really dont no whats going on,we human are the scared ones, because we dont want our wee ones to suffer, they do get hot.its normal.its hard on them.but they will be ok.cryed one I saw this.we want our sweet babies not to suffer, its hard my.yes

  • don't you give it meds??

  • My 1 year old husky had his first seizure yesterday and I was terrified. Especially after the vet has refurred us to get brain scans incase of a tumour. He's my first own dog, not a family pet and I was distraught. But after seeing this and reading how common they really are I've stopped panicking, thank you!

  • @TheLuciaFlor Take him to the vet and start him on meds at 1 years old he will go through it for the rest of his life some huskies don't make it past 5 if they start that early. Hope he is well!

  • My siberian husky experienced his first seizure last week and one more again yesterday...it is the scariest and saddest thing to watch. I was wondering if stress alone can bring on seizures, both times he vomitted and was really having a hard time and he does have separation anxiety. Any insights? I'm just keeping track right now of when and how long it happens but I feel completely helpless and scared to leave him alone.

  • I think your kitty was worried about him. aww

I'm sorry about the seizures. I'm glad you guys are there to comfort him.

  • Hes part Coyote? Sweet I've always wanted some exotic Pet like a pet Fox or Wolf Hybrid but I don't think that'll ever happen lol.

  • @TheCajunGambit1 I had a wolf hybrid. He ate through my apartment wall ... literally.

  • @KatrinaDi Was it a high content Wolfdog? They claim low contents are like owning a Husky or Alaskan Malamute. But yet Siberian Huskies can be quite destructive too. lol.

  • @TheCajunGambit1 I don't know, I mean she was HUGE. I think she was more Wolf than anything. She was blonde in color with like a blackish hue to her coat. Absolutely most sweetest doggie ever minus the eating her way out of the house bit.

  • @KatrinaDi Hmm I'm guessing she was a high content I hear people get pet Foxes and they'll just get into everything probably more so than a Wolf Hybrid. So I think a Wolf Hybrid might be a better pet than a Fox since there half domestic and only half wild. A Fox also has scent glands that will stink up your home or apartment and it smells like a skunk.

  • My dog just had a seizure this morning (woke me up). I was freaked! First time for any of my dogs. I did the same thing (trying to let him know I was there), but Max thrashed so much and it only lasted about a minute. I, on the other hand, had a hard time keeping cool. But, thanks to this video; others like it and my first experience, I know he'll be alright the next time (if there is one). Hoping not!

  • She's so beautiful. I think I'd cry if that happened to my dog. :c

  • *he's

    sorry x_x

  • I don't know if this means much, but I want to thank you guys so much for staying with your dog through his seizure. There are so many videos on Youtube with people simply recording their dogs, without making any attempt to comfort them. It's so important to let your dog know you're there, and to try to either restrain him gently if he's not thrashing too much, or at least place cushions/pillows around him to keep him safe from harm. You guys are doing exactly the right thing, thank you!

  • what a sweet little guy
