last year (I live in winslow maine) i was hunting in clinton and came up short overall, but in the long run had a very successful season in seeing multiple birds. my father and i had three hens one time walk within 5 feet of us...never noticed us. a jake walked within 10 yards of me, and i passed up because a tom was right behind him. when the tom looked me in the eyes through some brush, he immediately flew off. i didn't even move a muscle. such brilliant birds, can't wait to bad my third one.
