My dad brought this 45 home trying to be funny because he knew we didn't really like Donnie, because we thought he was trying to copy Michael. So we took that little 45 and threw it out the window on a rainy day in protest. Even though this song is not bad at all. Donnie grew up to be a fine young man.
@Tiny1bme It's 'Donny' NOT 'Donnie'..he's a male, not female. And they never copied anybody they just happened to be about the same age and sang the same type of music.
@MultiRenee99 I KNOW who the Osmonds are! , I was talking about the two at the beginning intro for the Osmonds. or is it you dont know who Peter Noone or Bobby Sherman are!!!
Saw Donny last night at the Oakdale in Wallingford, CT! He mentioned that he had the hair first before Justin Bieber! And he did! Donny is #1 still in my heart!
Donny obviously had the bulk of the fans, but I always thought Alan the most handsome of all the brothers, and he had the best singing voice of them as well...
I totally agree with the JB and Donny comparison, funny how they both like purple, their hair is similar and the screaming girls! I think both are equally talented.
Lord.... OMG Donny Osmond and Justin Bieber are twins! Well people say we all have twins somewhere in the world....I guess Donny' twin has come in the form of Justin Bieber...LOL
@HCL808 armes baby?! arme schlange ich will mal sehen wenn eucht die arme wegneommen werden wie ihr euch dann wehren wollt .. die schlange tut mir leid
It's a shame, the blatant denial of the Jackson 5's sound hidden behind the "All American" listener's admiration towards Donny's early cuteness. "Ain't No New Thing"
Then his brother's on the side co-signing just like Jermaine Jackson. Elvis,N,Stynce, Wackstreet Boys, New Kids on the flop, 98 degrees even the Bee Gees stole their sound from the Neville brothers, applying it to disco. Many others have replicated the sound and characteristics of the modern day R&B singer. Beiber for example.
You are right, sorry for my coarseness. I understand your point now. I hope you understand its nothing personal ive said but let me refrase. Its getting pretty anoying to keep reading unoriginal comments like yours. I admit, Im not doing much better, thats why I dont comment on vids unless. 1. Ive got real info id like to share 2. If i have a question 3. let someone know how I feel about a comment (yours i didnt appreciated)
@rudisme I appreciate you taking the time to re-comment. When I put up that post earllier this year, I wasn't aware people were comparing Justin Bieber to Donny Osmond and hadn't heard comments that would have made mine unoriginal. I'm glad you found a way to comment without being rude. Kudos to you for that! And thanks - 2011 is proving to be very happy for me. Likewise for you, I hope.
@punkinuk1 Get over yourself dude..... Why is it that everytime i watch i nice vid on youtube (espacialy oldies) some asshole comes an talk about this Bieber kid? I didnt even know him before everyone started to wright comments about the guy here on yt... Aint nothing you can do about the fact where living in 2010. Your taste of music is fine, so lauch at them bieber kids and enjoy real music... the more you mention him, the bigger the little fuck gets right??
@rudisme Actually rudisme (does having the word "rude" in your username mean a license to be that way, I wonder?), I was referring to the hype, the screaming fans, the fact that people copy his hairstyle and clothes. In the 70s, when the Osmonds and the Jackson 5 were at their peak, previous generations said it was "just like Elvis all over again" or that they "saw all this with the Beatles". Nothing changes but the names. It's a shame you have to resort to coarseness to get your point across.
I was an uber osmond fan for so many years and then after I was all grown up and over them was when I actually got a chance to meet a couple of them. I spent a whole day with Donny taking him around town to a radio show, etc in 1990 and then I worked a security detail for Marie Osmond in the early 90s for her concert. I found Donny extremely personable and we laughed at how years earlier I would have killed for 5 minutes with him and here I was hanging out with him.
in retrospect i can see why the jacksons turned that song down it would have featured jermain more than mike and i think jermain had an album out around that time. but if they didnt we wouldnt have had that wonderful era, some of ya'll call it innocent but i simply see it as fun! loved the osmonds even before one bad apple(andy williams show)
I remember when I was in love with Donny Osmond. I had every one of his albums, not to mention posters all over my walls. Seeing this brings back sooooo many happy, innocent memories.
the other main singer besides donny on the bass is jermaine's opposite

Merrill did not receive appropriate credit and recognition all those years for being the lead singer of The Osmonds.
