I've taken the wechsler. All it is are games and puzzles. If you read a lot (vocabulary subtest) are good at analogies or write with metaphors (similarity test) play jigsaw puzzles and sudoku (block formation and matrices) you'll score high. The last time I took one it came out to a 151...and I'm dumb as shit.

I'm sure Fred would score off the charts though.

@82rondo that's outstanding! you scored a 151! I know the Stanford Binet or the WISC or WAIS are the best IQ tests, whereas ones on-line or booklet at the local book store aren't nearly as valid.

How long did the test take ? I've never taken an IQ test myself, but I read and write a lot, and I play chess also, and seem to do well against others whom I play chess against. I think a lot of success is determined by motivation and hard work and just choosing a goal, and seeing through it.

@mjccmc82 I took the WAIS as part of a psych eval. It was all puzzles, vocabulary, general knowledge, verbal abstract reasoning and memory oriented. Everything that was on that test was ENTIRELY correlated to every activity I had growing up.This was following the rorshach and MMPI doom and goom results. Yeah, if you ever take one...don't take it seriously. It's all bullshit. It was about 2hrs but I enjoyed it. I just have a high aptitude...at aptitude tests.

@82rondo thank you - - I think IQ is one thing, but motivation, social skills, hard work, charisma, common sense, etc play a big role in life and success - - I mean look at marilyn vos savant record for highest IQ dropped out of college, but shes been successful w parade and other Co's , etc. chris langan has an IQ estimated between 195-210 he was on 20/20 and the psychologist said he was off the charts, chris dropped out of college, he was a bouncer at a bar, now he lives on a farm in MI or MO

@82rondo 150 IQ is one in ten thousand people! That's really great you scored that high. Ted Kaczynski, when he was 11, scored a 167 on the Stanford Binet IQ test. He skipped two grades, went to Harvard when he was 16, graduated at the age of 20, and by 25 he had a Ph.D. in mathematics and was an instructor at UC Berkeley, which in the late 60's was of the top math depts in the US, after 2 yrs, resigned, moved to Montana mountains, and now is spending life in the supermax in Colorado.

@82rondo are you a student ? what kind of work do you do ? do you feel your IQ gives u an advantage in life ? I'd say def in academics - - you probably smoked the SAT and it wouldnt surprside me if you were in med or law school w that IQ! but other qualities are important - - chris langan perfect SAT score, him & marilyn vos savant would be top 3 highest IQ , 3rd guy from korea is 200 + - -chris made less than ten grand a year for yrs as a bouncer lol - -one cant correlate wealth w intelligence

@82rondo I read a lot and study a lot of vocabulary and I play chess a lot, puzzles and number games I find boring, when I read or listen to a political discussion or read I hate not knowing a word someone uses so I make it a habit to look the word up and think about it in various sentences, chess is great for concentration, memory, logic, etc I just like to play, its easy but against someone strong its a challenge! Id love to play magnus carlsen that would be sweet - - for sure freds IQ is high
