hahahah buscando la toma de gasolina adentro cuando esta afuera ( me parece hasta el 73 y medio la tenia adentro de la cajuela y ya en el 74 tenia la toma por fuera)
Haha good old Volkswagen Beetle 1300 Sedan i have a 1968 (type 1 beetle although its not a 1300 and it had the gas filler cap the previous owner never put the gas door on the side so i kept that) and i bought it for $3999
they are not looking for the engine....they are looking for the gas filler cap. In 1968 it went from under the hood to on the outside on the right ....look close in the end of the video it is next to the guys hand.
I'm asking about an specific model of the car; I think in Europe in some years exist a Type 1 called "1300" or "1300L" and that doesn't mean the size of the engine.
we need a VW Guru; I understand that the "1300" on this models doesn't mean the CC on the engine (I think is a kind of model of the car); The 1300 engine was a one-year-only (1966) before the 1500CC was standard in all 1967 models, before that you can order a 1500 engine, 6 volts for your T-2 DeLuxe only (63-66), paying an extra fee; In Mexico never existed the 1300 engines, simply upgraded from 1200 to 1500 in 1970, even the electric system, 6 to 12 volts the same year.
Guys I can shed some light on your mystery. Firstly, it is definatly not pre 68 because the petrol flap on the side was introduced in 68, outdating the filler under the trunk. Secondly the commercial says "1300" now most people know the 1300 was from 62 to 67 however, there was another 1300 released in 1969 -1970 just before the super bug, and is basicly like a 1500 beetle so ther you have it 69 possibly 1970
OK I own a US spec Beetle. 67 model year was the first year for the Headlights without covers over them. 67 doesn't have a gas flap, filler is still under the hood, 67 still has wide 5 lug wheels, 67 still has the bumpers with over -rider bars. Although this is a European Commercial the 67 Model year in Europe had 4 lug wheels and headlights with covers on them. From the looks of the smaller turn signals I'd say it was a 68' or 69'
good thing trunk monkey was on vacation...

I miss my '68 118320597 red 1300. She was my first car in 1984. I saw it about ten years later in the same town in Louisiana and I still miss it.

The trunk looks small but when I played in bands I used to put Fender Twin and a guitar in there no problems.

You know, I think after, what, 35 years Germans would have known what was under the bonnet of a Beetle.

can anybody traslate? is the guy saying the engine got stolen?
netpolice151 2 years ago
No. They look for the location where to poor in the fuel. It used to be inside the trunk, but in this new beetle it is located OUTSIDE the trunk!
(sorry for my poor English)

Curious though, because a VW1300 makes it a 1966. The sealed beams came in 67 and those bumpers in 68 like thinark2 said.

You're all wrong! It's a 68! The bumper and gas door says all.
thinairk2 3 years ago
Nice! But it's not an early sixties commercial, it's late 60's. My guess it's 1967 from the new style headlights and bumpers the car has.

You're right! The fuel opening was changed in 1967, so that must be the year the commercials was produced. Thanks for your remarks.
